00:00Hi, I'm Laura Reid, the Deputy Features Editor at the Yorkshire Post, and here's a look at what's coming up in the week ahead.
00:06Rotherham's Wentworth Woodhouse is hosting its We Wonder Festival this Saturday, and this year it's celebrating the magic of the Big Top.
00:14After delving into the archives, the Preservation Trust, regenerating at the Stately Home, discovered that circus performers entertained at its garden parties in the 1920s and 30s.
00:25The day this week will feature unicyclists, jugglers and entertainers, as well as acrobatic shows and high-wire performer Chris Bolzini, in a nod to local daredevils, including the Maltby Elzanas.
00:36The family of high-wire performers, the Elzanas, gained international fame, with some of them joining the Barnum & Bailey Circus in the 1940s to 1960s, and others performing in New Zealand.
00:47In other news, it's back. Ten years ago, the nation fell in love with Educating Yorkshire, with millions tuning in every week to watch the students and staff of Thornhill Community Academy in Dewsbury.
00:59It was an unvarnished look at the highs and lows of life in a 21st century secondary school, and the show is now set to be back on our screens with a new series,
01:09looking at how life for young people in school in the UK has changed a decade on.
01:13Mr Burton, who was the English teacher in the last series that viewers saw support student Mushraff to overcome his stammer, is stepped up and is now headteacher of the school.
01:26In other TV news, season two of the Duchess of Sussex's new lifestyle show will air on August 26th.
01:34The next instalment of Would Love Megan will include celebrity guests, including Doncasterbourne, Queer Eye star Tan France, podcaster and author Jay Shetty, and US model and TV personality Chrissie Teagan.
01:46And finally, Hull's Freedom Festival, which is inspired by the reformist legacy of William Wilberforce and the wider abolitionist movement, takes place this week.
01:57From August 28th to 31st, the city will turn into, organisers say, a living celebration of freedom, culture and connection,
02:05with a programme of arts, performance, storytelling and heritage activities.
02:09The festival is also extending beyond the city of Hull, with a Freedom on Tour programme, with cultural experiences in communities across Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire.
