00:38And I welcome you to episode 68 of JohnTheGamer64's Munchies Review, which also covers drinks.

00:47So, I thought I'd also go ahead and stream this on Twitch. You know, just for the hell of it. Why not?

00:54Because I think I only did, like, one other episode of Munchies Review where I streamed it.

01:00But that was, like, a long-ass time ago. And had a shady camera.

01:04But, I got a new camera here, as you can see. Better for web-camming. Streaming.

01:11But, I digress.

01:13So, today we're gonna check out the New Mountain Dew flavor.

01:15Some are free.

01:19And, as you can see, it's gonna be a bomb-pop affair here.

01:25So, that's the thing about these bomb-pop flavors of anything. It's, like, hit or miss.

01:30Especially with energy drinks.

01:31You don't really dig it too much.

01:34But, yeah.

01:36So, let's take a look at it here.

01:39It has a nice, blue-ish color.

01:43Definitely dig in that.

01:45Nice and transparent.

01:48And then, we've got the label.

01:50The Santa Monica Pier in the background.

01:54And, I think, over there.

01:59Very nice.

02:01Huh.

02:02I think, like, the bomb-pop song, like, some sort of, like,

02:05I don't know, on top of an ice cream shop?

02:08Or, some sort of, like, lounge chair?

02:10I don't know, but, I dig it.

02:13It's cool.

02:16So, um, yeah.

02:17Like I was saying, the bomb-pop flavors, man.

02:19It's pretty much hit or miss.

02:21But, interesting fact about this one.

02:25So, the original bomb-pop flavors are

02:28cherry, lime, and, I believe, blue raspberry.

02:31So, this one says cherry.

02:34They got that down.

02:36Lemon.

02:36Got that wrong.

02:38And then raspberry.

02:41It's actually supposed to be blue raspberry.

02:43It's the original flavors ago.

02:44But, fun fact about blue raspberry

02:47is it's not a variation of, like, a real, like,

02:51raspberry flavor.

02:52It's actually a synthetic flavor.

02:56The only difference is, it actually, it's a little more sour than an original raspberry.

03:05And I'm guessing that's what gave it, gave this Mountain Dew its bluish color.

03:09Could be wrong on that.

03:11But, yeah.

03:12So, I thought this would be an interesting one to try.

03:16Well, I think what really got me is the lemon raspberry thing.

03:19Mountain Dew, because, uh, there was a discontinued flavor of Mountain Dew,

03:24which everyone knows.

03:26It's the Mountain Dew Spark, which was frickin' amazing, man.

03:30I think it was, like, the second best flavor to Baja Blast.

03:34Like, it almost beat out Baja Blast, in my opinion.

03:36But, Baja Blast will be, like, the number one Mountain Dew flavor.

03:43Nectar is the gods, as I dubbed it.

03:45But, but, I digress.

03:49So, let's get on to the taste test and go from there.

03:53So, Mountain Dew, Summer Freeze, Cherry, Lemon, and Raspberry.

04:06Definitely has that weird Bomb Pop smell.

04:12I don't know, it always felt so weird to me.

04:15I mean, like, I never actually smelled, like, a real Bomb Pop.

04:18I mean, who really smells their ice cream, you know?

04:21Their ice treats.

04:24Yep, they got that down.

04:27Alright, folks.

04:28Bones, apples, teeth.

04:29Damn, it's like, I didn't say, ah, because it's bad.

04:47It's just, like, the cherry, or not the cherry part, but the lemon raspberry part just reminds me of Mountain Dew Spark.

04:53So, I'm just like, damn, bro.

04:56Like, why are they pouring salt into the wound?

04:58Like, you discontinued, like, the second best flavor of Mountain Dew, which was Mountain Dew Spark.

05:05But, I mean, this is alright.

05:07I mean, uh, it has everything that's tart.

05:10You know, cherry, lemon, raspberry.

05:12But, it's not, like, super sour or anything.

05:22Yeah.

05:23The sourness is not too overpowering.

05:25Considering they have, like, three, like, fruits that are really tart.

05:31So, you know, the cherry, the lemon, the raspberry.

05:34So, yeah, the lemon raspberry.

05:38Just, like, a small throwback to, uh, Mountain Dew Spark.

05:42And I wish they would bring back Mountain Dew Spark, because that was awesome.

05:48Awesome flavor.

05:50But, as far as this one goes, it's a decent drink.

05:53Doesn't taste bad.

05:55Not overly sour.

05:57Not overly sweet.

05:58Has a cool blue color.

06:01I think that's, like, the best part about it, really.

06:03That and the little subtle hints of Mountain Dew Spark, I want to say.

06:09But, yeah, I'd probably give it maybe, hmm, three and a half to four stars out of five.

06:19Between that.

06:20I mean, don't hate it.

06:24But, you know, it's decent enough, so.

06:31Okay.
