00:29You know this B, JohnTheGamerC4, here with episode 65 of JohnTheGamerC4's Munchies Review.

00:38So today we'll be reviewing the newly released Sour Patch Kids Glow Ups.

00:44Now I have not heard anything about this snack, so it's definitely new to me.

00:50Not sure how long it's been out, but I like to think it's new because I haven't seen it at 7-Eleven before.

00:54Well, yeah. So these are called Sour Patch Kids Glow Ups.

01:03And apparently these react to blacklight.

01:08So it says, with edible confetti that glows under blacklight.

01:11So the flavor is Strawberry Watermelon.

01:14So I'm guessing it's a fusion of Strawberry Watermelon.

01:18I've tried the Watermelon Sour Patch Kids, and it's actually pretty good.

01:22I don't think I tried a Strawberry one, though.

01:25But we'll see if it's like a fusion thing, or if it's like separate flavors or whatnot.

01:29Well, what really drew me to this was definitely the whole blacklight activated feature.

01:41Well, yeah.

01:42It says Liquid Glow, but you'll see once I put it to the blacklight.

01:47But yeah, it's crazy.

01:49There's like little confetti that glows under the blacklight.

01:52Alright, I'll check the back here.

01:56I'm going to get some more info.

02:00So it says, our edible confetti contains turmeric extract, which gives it its fun glow.

02:07Hint, you can't taste it.

02:11Huh, interesting.

02:12See, that was my question, too.

02:15I was like, okay, if it has like turmeric extract in it, is it going to have like a hint of like turmeric flavor to it?

02:25Yeah, that should be interesting.

02:33So, go ahead and open them.

02:36So I'll give you a look, like before we put it under the blacklight.

02:40Like, just under normal light, I'll show you what it looks like.

02:43So, give me one sec.

02:47So, as you can see here, the confetti is very visible.

02:51So it's kind of cool.

02:52It's like different colored flakes here.

02:55So we got yellow, red, whatnot.

02:58Of course, with this sugary exterior.

03:03Alright, so we're going to go ahead and see what it looks like under the blacklight before we actually do the taste tests.

03:09And, go from there.

03:14And, this is what it looks like under the blacklight here.

03:18That's pretty cool.

03:18We got a little neon green color.

03:22So, yeah, from a distance, you can see that nice little glow.

03:27Yeah, that is pretty neat.

03:28So, yeah.

03:30That's turmeric extract.

03:32So, I mean, from the hint it said on the bag, it's like, oh, you can't taste it.

03:37But, I guess when we taste it, we'll actually find out if there is any turmeric, like, flavor to it.

03:46Even though there's maybe a little hint of it.

03:48But, yeah.

03:49But, yeah, I like the effect.

03:53Very cool.

03:57Okay, and there's, like, a bunch of them in a row here.

04:00So, apparently, they're all the same color.

04:02So, they're all pink.

04:03So, I'm guessing it's just going to be a strawberry watermelon fusion when we do try it.

04:08But, yeah.

04:09That is frigatee, man.

04:11But, it's kind of cool how Sour Patch Kids actually has a snack that advertises it.

04:15Like, oh, yeah, it actually does glow under the blacklight.

04:19So, that is freaking neat, man.

04:23It's like, now with glowing red and green color.

04:28Alrighty, folks.

04:29So, we're going to go ahead and conduct the taste test.

04:32And, go from there.

04:40So, we'll see if you can actually taste the turmeric at all.

04:43But, on the back of the bag, it claims, like, oh, hints, you can't taste it.

04:47So, I guess we'll find out.

05:09That's a good fusion gummy right there.

05:11It has the tartness of the, um, like, strawberry with the full flavor of the watermelon.

05:22It's a decent ratio.

05:24I mean, for the most part.

05:25I mean, you can really taste more of the watermelon than the strawberry.

05:29But, the strawberry flavor is there with the tartness.

05:31Because, you know, some strawberries are tart.

05:33So, no, not a bad fusion.

05:37Like, it tastes great.

05:39And, I love the whole blacklight gimmick.

05:42Like, it's just so freaking cool.

05:45Like, not a lot of snacks actually, uh, advertise that their products actually are blacklight reacting.

05:53Well, it's funny.

05:55That's just, like, even, like, you know, clothing, posters, whatever.

05:59Or, just certain items that, like, they're blacklight reacting, but they don't say it is.

06:05But, I like how Sour Patch Kids took it to another level.

06:09Like, oh, yeah.

06:10We're even going to call these glow-ups.

06:12And, they're actually blacklight reacting.

06:16So, yeah.

06:16They taste great.

06:17And, I love the gimmick.

06:19So, definitely going to give these a thumbs up.

06:22Because, I've always been a sucker for anything blacklight.

06:25Like, react.

06:27Tongue-tied.

06:28So, yeah.

06:30I love anything that's, like, blacklight reacting.

06:32So, yeah.

06:37Yeah, definitely good.

06:50Which is kind of ironic.

06:51Because, they made the gummies, too.
