00:00Let's say if you have to calculate the total value of an inventory, you basically use the formula equal unit price multiply by quantity.
00:08As you can see in the formula, they use the add symbol followed by the column name.
00:12They do the same thing with quantity as well.
00:14This is called structured referencing.
00:16If you hit enter, you can see it does this calculation for you.
00:19But if you don't like this kind of structured referencing format, basically what you can do, you can disable them.
00:24First, you're going to have to go to file, go to options.
00:28And in here, you're going to go formulas and remove this check from use table name in the formula and click OK.
00:36Now, if you do the same calculation again, say equal unit price, you can see they're using a cell reference rather than structure reference and hit enter.
00:44It does the same set of calculation for you.
