00:13It's going to be very interesting because there are a number of areas that remain in dispute,
00:21some of which President Trump has apparently indicated a high degree of flexibility,
00:27in part probably to attract President Putin to the meeting as a way of beginning the activities.
00:37Some think that a lot of this is also designed somehow to relieve the pressure on the White House of the Epstein issues,
00:46which are an entirely different question, but it is often part of the practice in the White House
00:52to create or pursue other questions, to mask or push away questions they don't wish to have discussed.
01:02But this one has replete with areas of difference, differences over territory,
01:08differences over NATO membership, difference over President Zelensky's attendance,
01:14differences over the evacuation of forces from the disputed territories,
01:21differences over can President Zelensky count on American guarantees.
01:26These are all part of what is clearly the intended agenda,
01:33at least in terms of how analysts, commentators, and other diplomats see the unfolding of the Alaska meeting.
01:42We do not have yet clear indications from what are leaked briefings beyond those particular issues,
01:52except deep concern in Europe that President Trump has apparently collapsed on a number of issues
02:01to bring President Putin on board.
02:04And then to see whether by listening, as he phrases it,
02:08he can work out the notion of whether President Putin is malleable in a negotiated outcome
02:17and whether he can, among other things, bring President Zelensky and or the Europeans into the framework in some way.
