00:00OK, so what do you think we can expect to emerge from Friday's talks?
00:04Obviously, I mean, everyone's been quite careful about managing expectations.
00:08This doesn't, does it, lead to an end to the war?
00:13I mean, what's the most we can hope for, though?
00:15I think you probably see a bifurcated result.
00:19First is President Putin is going to be bringing with him his team, his team that is focused on money.
00:27His team's focused on the image, the optics, and they're going to be focusing on the non-Ukraine related aspect of the U.S.-Russia relationship.
00:41And it's really important that people remember that this isn't all about Ukraine, this meeting in Alaska.
00:48This is about the U.S.-Russia bilateral relationship.
00:51So President Putin knows that if you want to discuss that component of the relationship, meaning give President Trump some deliverables, some things that he'll be happy with, then you're talking about the Arctic.
01:04You're talking about potential energy deals.
01:06You're talking about what potentially comes after a resolution of the Ukraine issue.
01:13And so, you know, it's, you know, it's really important that people don't forget that there's a bilateral relationship here that President Trump is focusing on.
01:25So if that's the somewhat transparent of the Ukraine issue, you know, it gets really important that people are saying, not to the Ukraine.
01:29So we don't want to move towards Ukraine's head, but in some sense, we need to give some discussion, and we walk forward to the Ukraine.
