00:00Didn't see you there.
00:18Oh, hello. It's springtime, baby. You guys may or may not know about me that spring is kind of by far my favorite season.
00:28Specifically spring verging on summer. We're talking May, June. We're not quite there yet, but close enough.
00:33And of course, we're going to go hit some of my favorite New York spots now that we are no longer in the dead of winter.
00:39And obviously, you're coming with me. Don't even kid yourself at first. I have something embarrassing to tell you guys.
00:44I was just micing myself up inside, i.e. putting my little microphone on.
00:48And the way it works, like the cord runs down my shirt and then it attaches to, you know, you try to make it look kind of discreet.
00:53So I kind of have it here or sometimes in the back. And anyways, it reminded me of this time.
00:58I was doing a real estate tour. I've done a couple of them on my channel.
01:01And I don't know if I was nervous or what it was. I don't think I was nervous.
01:04But anyway, I was in front of the real estate agents in this really, really, really nice property.
01:10And I was there micing myself up in front of them.
01:12And somehow, some way, the mic pack ends up through my fly.
01:17Like, this is how it ended up.
01:18And then I remember trying to play it off, like, oh, that'll work. I'll just go like, no, it won't work, actually.
01:25So anyway, I ended up unbuttoning my pants and fixing it, but I just don't know how that happened.
01:29Now let's go explore New York a bit, shall we?
01:30Coffee, coffee, coffee.
01:39Hot Americano.
01:40Whoa, whoa, whoa.
01:42What?
01:42Springtime, baby. Time for cold beverages.
01:45Oh, that's true. I can make it nice to Americano.
01:47No, no, no. I'm talking something nice and smooth.
01:50Cold brew?
01:50Yes, ma'am.
01:51Did you make that?
01:52Sure did.
01:53Wait, how did you get into my house?
01:55Details don't matter, sweetheart.
01:56Okay.
01:57Do you like cold brew?
01:58Yeah, I freaking love cold brew. It's just like $8 anywhere that I go and I've never made it myself.
02:02I've got you covered.
02:03Oh, so, besides breaking and entering.
02:05Well, Trade has you covered.
02:07Trade?
02:07Here, try this.
02:08Yeah, Trade Coffee. Coffee subscription company, you know.
02:11Oh, yeah, actually.
02:12Well, they've teamed up with 15 expert roasters to source the best beans and make a killer cold brew kit.
02:18Wow, this is smooth.
02:19Sure is, and guess what?
02:20What?
02:21For a limited time, Trade is giving away a free Hario cold brewer when you sign up for a cold brew subscription
02:26at drinktrade.com slash taylorbelle.
02:29What was that?
02:30Drinktrade.com slash taylorbelle to get a free cold brew kit with a cold brew subscription.
02:34You got it.
02:35That's drinktrade.com slash taylorbelle.
02:37Good, isn't it?
02:37Yes, it is.
02:38But now, time for you to go.
02:40Okay, fine.
02:40Yeah, I really hope you love me too.
02:44Yeah, I really hope you love me too.
02:53Spring.
02:53Wow, it is nice.
02:58Spoiler alert, you'll see I'm wearing my jacket.
03:00It's still quite chilly, but it's sunny and it's beautiful.
03:04And that's all I can ask about.
03:05Well, well, well, if it isn't my trusty Steve.
03:11You guys know I wear a helmet now.
03:13Oh, yes, I remember your bad dress and how you turn my mind completely due to such a mess so easily.
03:27And it really can't make no surprise.
03:30It's beautiful.
03:31So many blooming flowers.
03:32You see that smooth docking process?
03:47I don't know how this footage is going to come out, but what a beautiful ride that just was.
03:50It's so cute.
03:55Did you guys see that cavalier?
03:59Oh, oh my goodness.
04:03Like a little bear.
04:05Guys, there is unlimited footage to get.
04:08Every corner looks freaking like a movie set.
04:11It's crazy.
04:13It is so beautiful.
04:17Fantastic cocktails.
04:19Pretty much as good as they get.
04:21Hi, how are you?
04:22Good.
04:22Good, thanks.
04:23Do you guys just have regular drip coffee?
04:25Yeah.
04:25I'll do a small part of those, please.
04:28Yes.
04:28For here, please.
04:30For here, please.
04:35Thank you so much.
04:36Oh my God, you guys.
04:40I didn't get footage, but as I was sitting in there drinking my coffee, I started chatting
04:44up the woman next to me.
04:46She has lived here in the heart of West Village since 1977.
04:50And she's got that incredible rent-stable-ized situation.
04:53And I told her, I am jealous.
04:55We were talking about the weather and how it's still kind of chilly in the spring, blah,
04:58blah, blah.
04:58And then I brought up how cold this winter was, and she totally agreed.
05:01And then I asked her what the coldest winter she's ever had in New York was.
05:03And she said that there was an insane blizzard, like, over 30 years ago, where they literally
05:08closed the Lincoln Tunnel.
05:09Her aunt, who lived in Jersey, had to crash on her couch for a while.
05:12And this is so cool.
05:13I love talking to New Yorkers who have been here for a really long time.
05:16They all have very good stories and experiences to share.
05:19Anyways, fun fact.
05:20I was actually going to not come to West Village because I feel like I come here in every single
05:24video.
05:25But then I docked my bike in West Village, and I was like, I'm not leaving.
05:29It's so pretty.
05:33Hey, let's catch up a little bit, shall we?
05:42So I'm back in the city after almost a full month of traveling, which is a huge privilege.
05:47We'll talk about it in a second.
05:48But started in New York, obviously.
05:50Went home to California to see the parents.
05:52And then from there, flew to Korea.
05:55After that, Vietnam.
05:56And then Taiwan for a wedding of a very, very good YouTube friend of mine, Chloe Shi, who
06:01I'm sure a lot of you guys know.
06:03So much fun.
06:04I only knew a handful of people there, other creators, but had an absolute blast.
06:08And Chloe really knows how to freaking put on a production.
06:11Let me tell you that.
06:12After Taiwan, I went back to California for a day or two and then to Houston for another
06:17wedding.
06:17I was a plus one at this wedding.
06:18But my God, was it fun?
06:20And it actually wasn't in Houston proper.
06:22It was in the countryside on a friend's ranch and it was, oh my God, it was stunning.
06:27Anyway, I had a thought.
06:29So while I was gone during this month of travel, I worked plenty.
06:32I filmed a ton of videos, which I'm so excited to edit.
06:35Those will come out like mid next month.
06:36But for the most part, I was able to just get up and go travel for a month.
06:40And I don't know, sometimes I verge on the cusp of everything I talk about in my vlogs being
06:44about how grateful I am for my job.
06:46But gosh darn it, I have to say it.
06:48If you told Taylor in management consulting two years ago that she'd be able to just
06:52get up kind of whenever, go see the world, travel with my mom, travel with friends and
06:56yeah, work while I'm there.
06:57But like, I want to work.
06:58I don't know, man.
06:59I just don't know how I got so lucky.
07:00It's a good life.
07:01Anyway, all that being said, I am thrilled to be back in New York City.
07:06It's still the best city in the world.
07:07I've never actually been in there before.
07:21Actually, I have, but it's been a long time.
07:23It's like a very famous news magazine store in the West Village.
07:27Oh my God.
07:27And here's a little attached coffee shop.
07:30Fun.
07:31I do not need another one though.
07:33No, I do not.
07:34Mine wants the same exact way.
07:41Anyway, I just tracked them down and fed them for like several minutes.
07:45I can't help myself.
07:46It's an addiction.
07:47It really is.
07:52And finally, would this be a Taylor Bell video if I didn't take you to this corner?
07:57No, it would not.
07:58Famously, my favorite corner in New York City, me and many, many other people.
08:04This is Liv Tyler's old place and it's just so insanely beautiful.
08:08And I know what it looks like on the inside because I've watched the Architectural Digest
08:12tour of it like 30,000 times.
08:14My next musing.
08:22That's kind of what my vlogs are.
08:24I show you New York City and then you have to listen to my musings.
08:27But that's kind of-ish what I'm about to talk about, which is sharing my musings.
08:31So I've talked about this before, but I am doubling down on how great it is to share your
08:38interests with other people.
08:39Oh, so cute.
08:40Oh my god.
08:42Did you guys see that?
08:43And again, it's just one of my favorite parts about my job.
08:46Like having this channel talking about things that I find interesting has already deepened
08:51existing relationships that I had where maybe a friend of mine will watch the video and they'll
08:55really resonate with something that I said and then they'll text me about it afterwards.
08:59More and more of my friends are doing this, whether they're writing like sub stacks if they're
09:03good writers or writing movie reviews.
09:05Look at all these flowers.
09:08So pretty.
09:08Or they design like a quarterly magazine and source submissions from their friends.
09:13So my point is, if you're even considering doing this or you really want to start something
09:17kind of creative or whatever, just do it.
09:19At the very least, it will help you reconnect with some maybe like creative hobby that you
09:24used to like doing.
09:25Especially if you don't get to flex that muscle in your job, which is the case for a lot of
09:29people.
09:29I just think it's a great outlet.
09:30And very recently I received a very, very cool byproduct of sharing my enthusiasm for
09:37a particular institution.
09:38I'll show you when we get home, but share your interests.
09:42Alright, as much as I would love to meander around West Village for the rest of my entire
09:46life, we actually have to get home for a really cool thing.
09:50And I'll show you guys.
09:52And then we also have fun plans later tonight.
09:54Kind of a packed day.
09:55Like chill, but packed at the same time.
09:57You know what I mean?
09:58And as always, obviously you're coming with me.
10:02Duh.
10:02I really hope you love me too.
10:04Yeah, yeah, I really hope you love me too.
10:08Yeah, yeah, I really hope you love me too.
10:12Yeah, yeah, I really hope you love me too.
10:14Guess who it is.
10:16Trust this dude.
10:20Hello.
10:21So here's a cool one for you.
10:23Oh, don't mind my huge donate trash bag.
10:25A couple of months ago, I was talking with a friend about what brands would be like my dream
10:31brands to work with.
10:31And I was like, Apple would be my dream brand, but I don't think they work with creators and
10:36that would just be like one of my wildest dreams.
10:39You know, fast forward a couple of weeks later, I get an email from Apple and I open it and
10:44I'm like, that's not real.
10:46You get a lot of scam emails, you know?
10:47And then I look up the sender of the email on LinkedIn.
10:52Definitely real.
10:53And then there I am a couple of weeks later at an Apple event, getting to look at some
10:58of the new products, get my hands on them, get demos.
11:01It's like so cool.
11:03I don't even consider myself.
11:04Well, I'm definitely not a tech channel, but I will say through having this job, I've
11:09definitely become more technical.
11:10Like I geek out on laptop specs.
11:14Video editing has become like a second language to me and I love it so, so much.
11:17But anyway, I'm about to chat with Apple again in just a little bit.
11:22Before we do that though, something I want to show you guys.
11:24So I get home from my month of travel, right?
11:27I'm here opening the PR packages and just whatever came while I was gone for almost full
11:33month.
11:33And then I get this package.
11:36And remember how I said there was a cool byproduct of me sharing my enthusiasm for a specific
11:40institution on the interwebs?
11:42Well, I got an email from someone right before I left for my trip saying that they also loved
11:47Trader Joe's.
11:49And not only that they loved it, but that they literally wrote a book talking about
11:53all the different art and cool, unique things about Trader Joe's.
11:57And she went to a hundred plus different locations to get the information for this book.
12:01She asked if she could send me a copy.
12:03And I said, I would be honored if you would send me a copy.
12:07So first of all, if that's not the cutest wrapping you've ever seen, I don't know what
12:10it is.
12:10I thought we'd open it together.
12:12So cool.
12:13Oh my God.
12:13This is a Trader Joe's card.
12:15A card from Trader Joe's.
12:16Very on the nose.
12:17Dear Taylor, thank you for all the joy and positivity you bring into this world through
12:21your videos.
12:22I hope you enjoy my book, The Art of Trader Joe's.
12:24Wishing you all the best.
12:26Julie.
12:26Of course, I'm going to link all this stuff.
12:28See what I mean?
12:28It actually still blows my mind that this could come of sharing stuff on the internet.
12:32That is just so cool.
12:33Thank you, Julie.
12:34I haven't even opened your book yet and I'm like emotional.
12:37Okay.
12:37Let's see.
12:38Oh my God.
12:39The Art of Trader Joe's.
12:40Discovering the Hidden Art Gems of America's Favorite Grocery Store by Julie Averbach.
12:45I hope I'm saying that right.
12:46Wow.
12:46That is so cool.
12:49Oh, and an inscription.
12:51Taylor, from one Trader Joe's enthusiast to another.
12:53I hope you enjoy the book.
12:54Check out page 96 and 97 for the East Village store.
12:58She knows because that's the one I toured.
13:00It's my favorite location.
13:01Wait, this is insane.
13:02It shows the art on specific Trader Joe's items and the inspiration.
13:07Like this is digging deep, y'all.
13:09Oh my God.
13:09Julie, you're a beast.
13:11Okay.
13:12Let me go to the East Village location.
13:13Oh, flipped right to it.
13:15East Village details.
13:16Oh my God.
13:16Yes.
13:17So this is the map and this is what I showed in my video.
13:20Peter Arkell's drawings that show spotlights of different East Village neighborhood gems.
13:25This is just so, so cool.
13:26My God.
13:27Share your interests.
13:29Share your work.
13:30Thank you, Julie.
13:31This is, I'm blown away by your work.
13:33Great call.
13:41Apple's so cool.
13:42Anyways, we're headed to Brooklyn and I'm running a little bit late so I just called a neighbor.
13:50On the outside looking in, I really wasn't sure what I was getting.
13:57Between the highways on the sea, waiting for something to get to me.
14:04I wasn't sure what I was hoping for.
14:08What's up, vlog?
14:09We just got one of our favorite Thai restaurants in Fort Greene called, all right, how is this
14:15pronounced?
14:15We say suck, but I'm pretty sure it's not suck.
14:20It's suck.
14:20You think it's suck?
14:21So anyway, naturally, we're off to film in there, but a great end to the evening.
14:26Any other fun and spicy questions for me, anonymous friend?
14:29Are you excited for spring?
14:31I am excited for spring.
14:32We're in the spring, but it's freaking cold.
14:35I'm excited for spring summer.
14:36Anything else?
14:37Give me a spicy question.
14:39I have nothing spicy.
14:40Give me something really spicy.
14:42I have nothing spicy.
14:46All right.
14:46Well, like and subscribe.
14:49Until next time.
14:50I had a whole dance in mind, but now I'm nervous.
14:55A like and subscribe dance.
14:57I don't want to do it anymore.
14:59Do it.
14:59Do it.
15:00No.
15:01No.
15:02The moment's past.
15:04Until next time, turtle out.
15:06Will I ever make a different kind of intro?
15:09Probably not.
15:10I like this one.
15:12At least today I'm going to somersault out of bed.
15:14That's pretty spunky.
15:14Hang on.
15:15I think my camera is smudgy.
15:18Guys, whenever I see a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, I just can't keep, I can't maintain
15:22my focus.
15:23He's coming this way.
15:24Spring foliage.
15:27So cute.
15:27I have one myself.
15:29Oh.
15:30That one's chunky too, just like mine.
15:33Wait, hang on.
15:34That's not a good example.
15:37Spring foliage.
15:38Okay.
15:40Delusional.
