'He could be a £25m player': High Isaac Price praise as West Brom playmaker underlines talisman like qualities

Price, who arrived back in January, has had an impressive pre-season campaign and start to the new season. Lewis and Jonny look at his role in the team, his displays so far - with Jonny making a bold claim over how much Price may be worth if he has a top campaign.

00:27a top season which in the first two games and in pre-season he has shown that he is more than

00:31capable of doing being alvin's talisman leading from the front i think he's got 10 goals in him

00:36this season as well yeah you know i think you're looking at 25 million pound player there next

00:40summer i really do i was thinking about this before the podcast we want to enjoy him while it lasts

00:45while he stays at alvin i'd like to think he'll be here for the for the season but just such a top

00:50talent i haven't seen a player like that at the hawthorns for for quite some time and i think he

00:57is he it's almost like he likes the responsibility of being that playmaker as well i've always said

01:02you know he's used in a lot of positions last season i've always said his best position is the

01:0610 because he can make things happen you know it's his boundless energy is fantastic you know mason

01:11wants his side to press in the front he's kind of leads that charge he's just he ticks so many

01:17boxes he's so versatile but in that 10 position he's going to have a big say for alvin this season

01:23to be honest if alvin didn't find themselves promoted at the end of the season it's hard to

01:29see him still at alvin next season but me they're going to get a lot of money for him because he is

01:34a top top talent yeah he's in a really advanced role isn't he in this in this you know talk about

01:38number 10 but he's he's essentially just playing off the striker and i really like it i think as well

01:44as that i mean that's sort of where his starting position is but he's i think because of his class

01:49he's given a bit of freedom isn't he how often we're seeing him out on either flank especially

01:52out to the right sort of combining with the fellows or hegeba um i mean that's some yeah it's some call

02:00really you make regards pereira and not seeing a player like that for a long time i mean i don't

02:06disagree i'd also i wasn't covering alvin when they had that promotion winning campaign pereira

02:12dean ghana as sort of creative talisman um but you know that you just some sometimes you walk you

02:22see players you know your side or the opposition or whatever certainly live and you just things

02:28they do they're just a cut above and um and i think in in the couple of games so far we've seen

02:34it it's not a surprise because i think we saw it at times in the second half of last season i think

02:38we really did he settled quickly didn't he but um looks again too early to maybe say this after two

02:45games but looks to have taken a step maybe in in pre-season you know such a regular important player

02:50for his country um you know full pre-season of training under ryan mason what the head coach desires

02:57and yeah okay he's got that sort of rare thing as well johnny you touched on it he's as sort of

03:04happy grafting and running hard and pressing as he is technically good he's got both actually which

03:12you know sometimes you'll get a sort of you know maybe we talked about it with johnson a little bit

03:17then someone who's really really really technical but you know might might sort of be a bit more

03:22labored or go a bit more missing or you know isn't running a hundred mile an hour or pressing or you get

03:27the other way and they're really energetic but just lack that sort of touch or his balance with price

03:32has got both and um yeah his age i mean i think i think i'm right in saying he's younger than tom

03:37fellows which really puts it into perspective doesn't it i think he's um he's clearly by some way he

03:46taking the fact of you know that the fellows academy graduate factor when it comes with value when it

03:53comes with pure profit of selling a player you've bought through the book through the club and not

03:58not have to buy um prices ceiling and potential in the game feels feels high to be honest it feels

04:07like he at the moment that he's a sort of guaranteed future top flight player and i mean i've said to a

04:12couple of people yourself included johnny um over the last week or so you know i'd uh everton must be

04:20slightly annoyed that i i know they they didn't let him go they tried to offer him a new deal when

04:24standardly asian belgium took him but i imagine they're slightly irked now the powers that be that

04:30they didn't maybe try a little bit harder to to secure his signature because yeah i mean he he's

04:37he's quickly become a talisman hasn't he an attacking sort of talisman uh like you said and a few have said

04:44it wouldn't be a surprise if even if from this sort of advanced attacking midfield position he ends up

04:50top scorer in double figures laying on goals he assists last night just just the pieces of skill

04:57that take your breath away he's you know there's a bit ability skill-wise is a bit of a maverick and

05:04there aren't that many of those to enjoy are there and he's got so much confidence style swagger about
