00:00if you're going to succeed and do well in the Championship,
00:02you have to win those types of games.
00:04And in recent years, Alvin haven't.
00:06I think last season, seasons before,
00:09they might not have won those games.
00:10And we've talked quite a while about them having a soft underbelly.
00:15That has been a phrase that we've used probably under Bruce,
00:20sometimes under Carlos Corbran,
00:23and certainly at times towards the end of Tony Mowbray's reign.
00:25But there just seems to be something a little bit different
00:29about this Ryan Mason side now where, you know,
00:32I know they've conceded late goals in other games,
00:34but where they could dig in, you know,
00:36whether it's the kind of the culture that Mason is adopting
00:40or it's the calibre of player and the mentality of player
00:43that he's bringing in.
00:44You just, even though you were a little bit nervy late on last night,
00:48there is this big difference with Mason's side,
00:50which is such a positive considering we're only, what,
00:53seven or eight games into the season.
00:55Yeah. Yeah, it's interesting stuff, isn't it?
00:57I mean, you used the word irony there.
00:59And I actually, it's the same one I kind of used to Mason last night
01:02at Carroll Road after that game.
01:04You know, look at, yeah, I've been with three without a win,
01:07weren't they?
01:07And, you know, there's a bit on that last night,
01:09I think, to go back and get back to winning ways.
01:14Look, we know what season Norwich are having in front of their own fans,
01:17obviously winless, pointless.
01:19But Norwich in the Championship remain a force.
01:23They still have decent players.
01:25That game still took winning last night.
01:26And by all accounts, that was the best Norwich I've played.
01:28And I made the point to Mason, you know,
01:30the irony, I suppose, in the way those home games have gone,
01:36Alvin being on top, Alvin having the most, you know,
01:38more chances and getting sucker punched late on.
01:40And then you get last night where, as you say,
01:45the other way round, really.
01:46I'm not sure it's the worst they've played this season.
01:48You know, I think of Borough away, perhaps one or two others.
01:54But, yeah, again, made the point to Mason who agreed.
01:58There's certainly plenty more than one way to win a football match,
02:01isn't there?
02:02And that was one of them last night, you know,
02:04as we'll get into, Mason said, you know,
02:07sometimes you need individuals.
02:08Sometimes you certainly need your goalkeeper to do that.
02:11And obviously, you know,
02:13Josh Griffiths departed as one of the heroes there.
02:15Well, the main hero, really, from Norfolk.
02:19It's interesting, isn't it?
02:21It's interesting.
02:21You know, you met the underbelly point.
02:23And, yeah, the personnel,
02:27I think the recruitment this summer, you know,
02:29your Philipses, your Mephams,
02:31there were more, Bielik,
02:33was, you know,
02:35they were made with an emphasis on leadership, weren't they?
02:38And experience and know-how of this division and succeeding in it.
02:43Now, that tells you, you know,
02:44we're looking to eradicate this underbelly issue
02:46and become stronger, stronger will, stronger mentally.
02:51And you're probably right.
02:52We've seen that in games so far, haven't we?
02:54None more so than last night.
02:56And on the flip side, look,
02:58we've seen an Albion side play well and be wasteful
03:02and be dealt lessons in terms of going forward,
03:05I think, and not scoring enough.
03:06And we still haven't seen this Albion side score enough,
03:09have we really?
03:10OK, they were more efficient last night,
03:12but I think over the piece,
03:14we'll need to see more attacks, more goals, really.
03:17Something, you know, probably a debate for another day.
03:19But, yeah, last night, Griffiths is the man, isn't it?

03:26You obviously rated Nat Phillips and Mepham well, again.
03:31And I do agree.
03:32And I thought Mepham, especially, was great.
03:34Again, the late clearance off the line.
03:36Nat Phillips is blocking the first half.
03:38But actually, interestingly,
03:40Aubyn gave up chances, didn't they?
03:41You know, nine times out of 10, 99 times out of 100,
03:44Norwich get at least a point there.
03:45So, let's not pretend it was, you know,
03:49sort of flawless or anything close to that last night.
03:51I don't think it was.
03:53Brian Mason said the football gods were on Albion's side,
03:55didn't they?
03:56So, you have to say a good element of fortune.
04:00But I think, in general, across the season so far,
04:04we're starting to see a strong,
04:07you're mentally stronger, Albion.
04:08I think that's fair, isn't it?
04:09Some of those leaders shining through.
04:12You know, some that were already at the club,
04:14experienced edge, you know, your Wallaces, Mowets,
04:16one or two others.
04:18But, yeah, I think, hopefully, collectively,
04:21the group can take a lot from that last night.
04:23They really sort of were in the trenches, weren't they?
04:25They really had to go to the mill,
04:27knuckle down for that.
04:29And when they felt they were beaten,
04:30you know, they had the final presence behind them
04:32between the sticks to bow them out.
04:35And hopefully, that's a bit of a night of growth,
04:38not just for Josh Griffiths, as Mason said,
04:40but I think for the 11, for the match day squad, really,
04:45that could be a big step forward.
