00:00Game of famous match in 1927, Alohi Calablanca.
00:04Having your rook behind your past pawn
00:07guarantees that this pawn can move on
00:10and if black blocks this pawn then
00:13their rook is paralyzed and then you seem to bring the king.
00:17So it's a general rule but it's easy to explain
00:22because you just have to make sure that your pieces are most active
00:26and having your rook if you are on the weak side,
00:31on the defensive side, behind the pawn,
00:33enemies past pawn always helps.
00:36Same rule works for multiple pawns endgames.

01:26and black has a king and a pawn.
01:30So pawn on d2, it's easy.
01:33So I'm sure you know how to win.
01:35You pin it, you give a check, you force the king here
01:40and then you make sure a king goes in front of the pawn
01:44and then you start bringing your king.
01:46No matter how far is the king, you can always have the same maneuver.
01:49That works if the pawn is on b2, the knight pawn.
01:54Same maneuver.
01:56The trick is what happens if we have...
