Tropical Storm Erin is quickly intensifying and could become the first major hurricane of the 2025 season by Friday :fire:
Currently moving west at 20 mph with winds of 45+ mph, Erin is tracking toward the northern Leeward Islands and may pass just north of them this weekend :water_wave:
Forecasters warn that even if Erin avoids direct landfall, the East Coast could still see dangerous waves, strong surf, and rip currents by next week :cyclone:

Meteorologists are also watching two other systems in the Atlantic and Gulf, but neither is expected to develop significantly — for now :eyes:
Stay informed, stay prepared, and make your hurricane plan today

00:00A storm is brewing in the Atlantic, and it's aiming for a dangerous upgrade.
00:04Tropical Storm
00:05Aaron is picking up speed and strength as it moves westward across the Atlantic.
00:10Located 1,400 miles east of the Leeward Islands,
00:14it's already packing winds of 45 miles per hour and climbing fast.
00:18Forecasters say Aaron could become the season's first major hurricane by Friday.
00:23That means wind speeds could blast past 110 miles per hour.
00:26Its current track shows it skimming just north of the Leeward Islands this weekend.
00:31And while most models suggest it won't hit the U.S. directly,
00:34meteorologists say it's still too early to let your guard down.
00:38Because storm paths 5 to 10 days out can shift suddenly and dramatically.
00:42Even if Aaron stays offshore,
00:44powerful waves, dangerous rip currents, and rising surf will slam the east coast by next weekend.
00:50Meanwhile, two other systems are being tracked across the Atlantic and Gulf.
00:54But only a 20% chance of development for now.
00:57Bottom line, don't wait for landfall warnings.
01:00Start preparing today.
