00:00:00So you would hope, as a Liverpool fan, that he will improve and he will score more goals than he misses.
00:00:06But I thought he was bright today.
00:00:07And I'm sure he will.
00:00:08Listen, Liverpool have got a big season ahead of them and a raft of new signings.
00:00:13And it's gone a little bit quiet here at Wembley.
00:00:15And that's because we're gearing up for these guys, Crystal Palace, to go up those steps and collect themselves another bit of silverware.
00:00:23And what's actually quite lovely, Joel, is while you're sitting here, you're being dragged up there.
00:00:27Do you want to go up and join them?
00:00:28No.
00:00:28No.
00:00:29Are we paying him by the minute here?
00:00:31Are we on the clock?
00:00:32I bet he touches the trophy by the time we come off here tonight.
00:00:37A little birdie told me the last time you lifted a trophy it was a 6am finish the next day.
00:00:41So I'm just wondering if you're going to go and join them.
00:00:44No, I'll try and be well-behaved today and stay out of the celebrations.
00:00:50But no, listen, honestly, the guys, Mark and Ebbs and all the guys, the whole squad, they're great guys.
00:00:56And obviously they deserve to do this.
00:00:58It's just a great history again for the club to lift the second bit of silverware.
00:01:01And obviously the gaffer, Oliver Glasner leading the way as well.
00:01:05And I think, you know, since he's come into the club, he's really changed the mentality and the belief within the team and within the club.
00:01:12And obviously giving the fans something that they've never had before.
00:01:15Yeah.
00:01:16It's one thing you never get tired of, it's walking up those steps.
00:01:19Yeah, absolutely.
00:01:20I bet.
00:01:21Well, physically tired probably.
00:01:23Look, this is familiar territory for him and his Crystal Palace side.
00:01:26Let's get you up to our commentary team for this trophy lift.
00:01:28It's Ali and Darren once again.
00:01:30Thank you, Laura.
00:01:31It's certainly an easier walk on the legs when you're victorious.
00:01:35Crystal Palace winning the Community Shield for the first time and in doing so, becoming the fourth London club to win it, joining Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea.
00:01:42They're the first club to win it outright for the first time since Nottingham Forest back in 1978.
00:01:48So it's a momentous day for them and it's the culmination really, Ali, of a fantastic three months FA Cup winners and then here they are again walking up the steps to receive the trophy again at Wembley.
00:02:01Yeah, it's been a smashing three months for them and it could be even better depending on how this appeal goes obviously as well for Europe.
00:02:10But no, I mentioned it earlier, it was terrific in the cup final against Manchester City and I thought they played very, very well second half.
00:02:17I think you made a valid point and one that has to be accepted.
00:02:21I think Liverpool kind of lost their way a little bit when they took Nikiteki off who I thought showed in glimpses what a very, very good player, well, great player.
00:02:29And a good player he's going to be for Liverpool but when it goes to penalties, Palace took the better one, simple as that.
00:02:35Oliver Glasner came in with the remit to lift Palace higher and deliver trophies and he's doing that, the FA Cup followed by the Community Shield.
00:02:44But it's good as well to see the Liverpool players all standing down there on the pitch to acknowledge this Crystal Palace team.
00:02:52The medals being placed around their necks, a big smile on the face there of Chris Richards and Will Hughes who came on for Kamada in the first half and did well.
00:02:59Sosa had the chance to win it as the new boy hit the bar.
00:03:02There's Ezra and all Crystal Palace fans hope that he's still a Crystal Palace player by the time the transfer window closes and a big embrace there from Steve Parrish.
00:03:16Yeah. Just checking on Kamada as well who went off injured and what a day for Justin Deveni, he came off the bench, nearly scored with his first touch and then got the winning penalty.
00:03:25If you said to the Palace lads and the Palace fans that a year ago, within 12 months you'd win two trophies at Wembley, they might have settled for that, you know.
00:03:39I think they'd take it. What about that? Chairman and goalkeeper. There are many that do it better than Dean Henderson in a penalty shootout.
00:03:51I don't want to know where that bonnet's going.
00:03:54I think they've doffered the camp when he saved the first one, might be one of the more memorable moments of the season already.
00:04:01We've not even started properly.
00:04:02And there is Ishmael Asar, who, which we didn't do during the game, but he's your player of the match.
00:04:13Yeah. Some good performances today.
00:04:17I mean, I did enjoy Virts, Ike-Ike first half, but I think Sar, I thought Wharton played well.
00:04:24Some good performances from Palace.
00:04:25Well, it's almost time.
00:04:32There's Clinton Morrison, who's going to get the honour, I think, of handing the Community Shield over to Mark Gahey.
00:04:38He's had to drag himself up the steps, having been beset by Cramp, but I notice he's managed to dig deep and get himself up there.
00:04:48He's going to receive his medal.
00:04:49I think he might be asking for Eza to get back in there as well.
00:04:53He was the captain at the end, he got the armband on for the shootout, he's got to get his medal first.
00:04:59Well, the Eagles landed at Wembley in May, and they've returned today to win another trophy.
00:05:06It's becoming addictive for the players and the supporters of Crystal Palace.
00:05:11And I know you mentioned it, I think that's a great touch, Liverpool, there, the players.
00:05:18Well, there it is, that's what they came for today.
00:05:23And Mark Gahey, he holds the Community Shield.
00:05:27And he lifts it high above his head.
00:05:29And for the very first time, the Community Shield is on its way to Selhurst Park.
00:05:35They're glad all over, and we say well done to Crystal Palace.
00:05:39It's become the new normal for Palace, hasn't it?
00:05:57Trophies at Wembley, two and two now.
00:05:59An amazing day for Steve Parrish, the players, the fans, everyone involved in Crystal Palace Football Club.
00:06:05Now, something that's not normal, we've got 52 Premier League matches, 529 games from UEFA's club competitions.
00:06:14As well as the most extensive ever coverage of the Emirates FA Cup and Adobe Women's FA Cup.
00:06:20This one here, the Community Shield, the first of a whole host of titles to be won across TNT Sports this season.
00:06:27Now, UEFA's Super Cup, we've got coming up as well, Paris Saint-Germain, the Champions League winners against Tottenham Hotspur, the Europa League winners.
00:06:36That one's on Wednesday at 7pm, and it's on TNT Sports 1.
00:06:41And in the Premier League, Aston Villa against Newcastle.
00:06:46That one at Villa Park is on Saturday at 11am, and it is on TNT Sports 1.
00:06:52That gets the Premier League coverage kicking off 2.
00:06:54But we're going to stay here at Wembley, because there's much more to talk about, much more analysis, and much more reaction from these wonderful, wonderful scenes that we're seeing around us now.
00:07:07This is amazing, Joe.
00:07:08I was watching you, watching them, tearing up almost again.
00:07:12Again, yeah, again.
00:07:15Honestly, it's great.
00:07:16And you can see now, look at these guys, you know, staying here right to the end, and obviously lifting the roof still.
00:07:23This is what this club's all about, these fans.
00:07:25And they deserve the success.
00:07:28You know, the way in which things have gone over the last kind of 18 months since all of the Clasers came in.
00:07:33You know, it's been incredible to watch, and it's been a great journey, and, you know, today it's been amazing to watch on.
00:07:39It can be a great spring ball packer, can't it?
00:07:41Yes, and let's hope the manager and this team that have just won this trophy get a little bit of help, because European football, playing Sunday, playing Thursday, playing Sunday, it is relentless.
00:07:55And they will need a bigger squad.
00:07:57As I said, they brought in two, but they will need a bigger squad.
00:08:01The manager has worked wonders for this team, he really has, and the team have responded.
00:08:05They've got so much potential, but they could do with a bit of help, because once European football comes around, it gets hard.
00:08:12The travel, the relentless amount of football that you need to play, people will pick up injuries.
00:08:17So now it's time for the manager to say, please, any chance, open the coffers, open the purse, let's have a few more signings, and bolster this already equipped squad.
00:08:28But let's make it stronger.
00:08:29They've got to, Joel, haven't they?
00:08:31They've got to strengthen, like Mac is saying.
00:08:33Yeah, I think, you know, obviously, you see today, obviously, any player that comes into the squad, they know their drills, they know how to work, and that's credit to, obviously, the gaffer, the way in which he sets up his teams, and the message that he gives, and the vision that he gives for the team.
00:08:47But, you know, it'd be great to see some poor faces come in, and like Mac was saying, you need that depth throughout the squad to compete in Europe.
00:08:55Listen, the guys, the way they look after themselves, they'll be fine, but it's always nice to have that little bolster.
00:09:00And in one-off games, they'll be fine. FA Cup finally beat Manchester City. Today, they've beaten Liverpool, but it's when they return, it's when they go into the humdrum of the Premier League throughout the Decembers, the Januaries, then into the FA Cup.
00:09:14That's when the manager, because, of course, everybody picks up injuries, that's a certainty that you'll have injuries, but the manager needs to look and not go into his academy, needs to pick the players that he wants.
00:09:25And I hope this manager has worked absolute wonders. That's what he deserves, and the players get what they deserve, which will be a little bit more healthy.
00:09:34Well, no more over the next couple of weeks, next couple of days, but where do you think the priority is to strengthen for Palace?
00:09:39I think for me, you know, you look at the strength that we've got within the midfield, it's very deep. Maybe rolling in from the inside tens, you know, on the out wide would be great.
00:09:53And like you say, there's going to be moments that we get and pick up injuries, but, you know, there are players that can play in multiple positions.
00:10:01You see that with Jefferson Lerma, he drops him back into the centre-halves, into that back three, but we need just a little bit of cover in those positions, I think, especially going through that vein of the spine of the...
00:10:11John, I've got to ask, because Ali, in commentary, was loving Adam Morton and his contribution today. He was excellent, wasn't he?
00:10:17Honestly, for a lad so young, he's got the world at his feet, the way in which he sees the game, and the way in which he understands the game as well.
00:10:26He's someone who's come in from the championship, and he's leading meetings in many ways. He's talking throughout the tactics, and he's telling people what to do, and he shows a maturity that I haven't really seen before.
00:10:37And he plays balls that, you know, you don't see on the pitch. A lot of people won't see it on the pitch, but his intelligence to kind of play around the corner and play forward and break lines is exceptional.
00:10:50I think that's been the thing for Adam Morton. Crystal Palace have always supplied wonderful players, haven't they?
00:10:56And the one thing to keep the wonderful players is win trophies, win trophies, they ought to be in football. So if you're going to keep Mark Gahy, if you're going to keep Eze, if you're going to keep Matete, if you're going to keep Adam Morton, do this and do it on a regular basis, and they won't want to leave.
00:11:14Look, this is the trophy list that you were waiting for, Joel, the one without the hold, the one with all the celebrations in the Piratechnics, just joking. You want to go and join that, don't you?
00:11:22What a lovely moment for this side. What a lovely moment for this team and their fan base to watch this unfolding.
00:11:27Yeah, it's great. Look at everyone, obviously, you can see the joy within the squad and, like I said, they deserve it. They've been brilliant.
00:11:35Ah, here we go. I wonder where this is coming to.
00:11:38It's Westish.
00:11:52Oh, and that is what Joel Ward means to this club.
00:11:57Lord, I said they need players. There's one next to me.
00:12:00It's still with them. It's huge for Oliver Glaston.
00:12:04I've just mentioned the best team in the league's had a makeover. Over 200 million spent. Florian Burtz, the centrepiece at 22, the German, set for superstardom.
00:12:13And before the kickoff, we will pay our respects and remember the late Liverpool striker Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, a man who's death united the whole football community and a man who will forever be Liverpool's number 20.
00:12:33Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva. The Scottish will start at the end of the referee's whistle.
00:12:43And why on earth there are a certain few inside the stadium who would spoil that moment is absolutely beyond me.
00:13:13No, I just defy his logic, that.
00:13:22There's Arneslott, fourth Liverpool manager to win the league title in his first season, the first since Kenny Dalglish in 1986.
00:13:29And he's got an even better squad to work with this season.
00:13:32And there is Oliver Glaston, what no other Palace manager in history has managed to do, delivered a major trophy to Selhurst Park.
00:13:40Chris Cavendish, Chris Cavendish, the referee, the VAR Paul Tierney.
00:13:44Well, next weekend it starts for real, but that shouldn't diminish what's at stake today for the two teams.
00:13:48Both want to win the first trophy available today.
00:13:51And of course, it provides vital and high profile minutes for the players as they finalise their preparations for what's ahead.
00:13:59So 77 days since Liverpool hosted Crystal Palace and were presented with the Premier League trophy, Ali, off we go again.
00:14:07Yeah, it's nice to get a break, isn't it? But it's nicer to be back.
00:14:09Conditions here at Wembley, absolutely perfect.
00:14:18I always say to people, if you're planning a holiday in the United Kingdom,
00:14:23go over the weekend at the Community Shield and the start of the Premier League campaign,
00:14:26because it's always sunny and we've got the weather here again today.
00:14:31Well, I know we don't get a lot of it, Darren, where I come from, but I was struggling down there in the heat.
00:14:36First challenge run down here by Milos Kerkes.
00:14:42Now, I've got to say, Ali, early on when we look at this Liverpool team,
00:14:46fascinated to see what it looks like with the new players.
00:14:48Two full-backs out there today, very dynamic, the pair of them.
00:14:51And at the top end of the pitch, you've got this ability of Florian Pertz and all of this potential of Hugo Eketika.
00:14:57Yeah, and I'm really looking forward to it.
00:14:59We have a pass here straight away in the middle of the park.
00:15:01I'm genuinely looking forward to it, and you mentioned that Liverpool have strengthened,
00:15:06you know, and they look a better squad, and I accept that.
00:15:09However, I'd be quick to point out, they've obviously lost some goals as well on their side,
00:15:15and some real talent.
00:15:16So, I think time will tell, but on paper they look stronger.
00:15:22They don't even know if they're finished yet.
00:15:23What about that, by the way?
00:15:25We could be in Dortmund or Paris.
00:15:31Crystal Palace supporters who might just be protesting against UEFA,
00:15:34they've got this big decision to come regarding which competition they're going to play in,
00:15:38which is due on Monday.
00:15:42Liverpool won the league by ten points last season,
00:15:44and starters favourites to retain their title.
00:15:46The last time they played here at Wembley, they lost the league cup final against Newcastle.
00:15:50And they're on the move here with Mo Salah,
00:15:56Jeremy Frimpong, Ibrahimovic, Kodate.
00:16:06Curtis Jones, who at the outset now, he is the deepest of the Liverpool midfielders,
00:16:09it looks as though he's got the Graffender role today.
00:16:11We must say congratulations to Ryan and his partner,
00:16:15based on the fact that he became a dad last night, that's why he's not here.
00:16:17No doubt he's sitting somewhere with his newborn and enjoying the community shield,
00:16:24so congratulations from all of us here at TNT Sports.
00:16:28He's like a TK, and now Gakpo.
00:16:35Palace have shaped up exactly how I thought they would have done,
00:16:38with Liverpool playing two wide players, obviously.
00:16:40Gakpo and Salah forces Mitchell and Nunes back into a five,
00:16:45which I have to tell you, they're very comfortable in.
00:16:54This is the summer signing from Bournemouth Milos Kerkes,
00:16:57and now the Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk,
00:16:58and good to see Alisson back in goal as well, he was back in Brazil,
00:17:02for personal reasons, which meant he missed a couple of pre-season games,
00:17:06and he's back in goal for this community shield here at Wembley today.
00:17:13Florian Virts, who's got the number seven shirt,
00:17:15so no pressure whatsoever on the young journey.
00:17:18They've won a few good ones, haven't they?
00:17:24Virts slips it through here to Ekotike,
00:17:26gets it back again to a Liverpool summer signings,
00:17:28combining Ekotike with the shot and the goal!
00:17:31Well, that's how you announce your arrival in English football,
00:17:43with a quite brilliant finish at Wembley.
00:17:45So much potential, not an unerring finish,
00:17:49from the summer signing from Eintracht Frankfurt,
00:17:51and that's what Hugo Ekotike is all about.
00:17:55The goal inside four minutes, and Liverpool lead 1-0.
00:17:58That's a brilliant goal, we can see when the ball's played into him,
00:18:02he's looking for a runner off him, watch this,
00:18:04when the ball gets played into him,
00:18:05he's thinking about playing at a back flick through his right-hand side,
00:18:08he's just on, there, he's thinking about back-healing that,
00:18:12but he sees he hasn't got a runner going off him,
00:18:14so he makes himself available again for the pass,
00:18:17takes it inside, gets his half-yard bank finished,
00:18:20through the defender's legs, goalkeeper no chance,
00:18:23what a way to say hello to everybody.
00:18:28Well, Dean Henderson, who saved the penalty in the cup final,
00:18:31had no chance, there's the applause of Arna Slott,
00:18:33he's only 23, hasn't been capped yet at full level by France,
00:18:38he's scored 22 times in all competitions last season
00:18:41for Eintracht Frankfurt,
00:18:42the comparison is Thierry Henry,
00:18:45and when you watch him, he's so smooth, isn't he?
00:18:47Dan, I'm assuming you can move to a club, you're starting a career at a club,
00:18:51in particular as a striker,
00:18:53you just want to go off and run as quickly as you can,
00:18:56I would suggest that four minutes is quite good.
00:18:59I want to start for the league champions.
00:19:06They have been full of goals in pre-season,
00:19:08it's worth pointing that out, they've travelled the world,
00:19:10Liverpool, but they've been scoring wherever they've been,
00:19:12and they've clicked into gear early on here against Crystal Palace,
00:19:15looking to get the return ball,
00:19:17and that was defended in there by Munoz,
00:19:19who had such a fine individual season last season
00:19:22for Crystal Palace, but Liverpool have started fantastic.
00:19:24Oh, they really have.
00:19:26Just knowing that, I thought he might have been manning a match
00:19:28in the cup final minutes as well,
00:19:29but it certainly looks up after five, six, seven minutes,
00:19:33it's getting a long day for the rest of his teammates.
00:19:37Liverpool at the moment, living in the Crystal Palace box,
00:19:40in it goes from Kerkhez,
00:19:41and again the target was Ekotike in there,
00:19:43they just can't get the ball at the moment, Crystal Palace,
00:19:46but they'll try and get some respite here through Munoz,
00:19:50and then Warton, but it was given straight back to Liverpool,
00:19:52now they've got it though with Kamada,
00:19:55and now Ezzer, fourth touch it was by the way for Ekotike,
00:19:58I'm not sure what he was messing about at.
00:20:01Quite a fantastic start for them.
00:20:03It's almost three months since Palace's big day here against Manchester City,
00:20:11ironically the last competitive game both teams played
00:20:13was against each other at Anfield on the final day of last season.
00:20:19It's a Liverpool team that's been to Hong Kong and Japan,
00:20:22but came back to play two friendlies on the same day
00:20:24at Anfield against the Athletic Club in midweek,
00:20:26and the goals for the league champions have been flowing.
00:20:32That's to Trimpong,
00:20:33and then Ekotike,
00:20:35and he's just trying to speed things up there to Salah.
00:20:39He tried to fire it in to him, didn't he?
00:20:42First time we've seen Trimpong breaking down the right-hand side,
00:20:47worth a mention here,
00:20:48it was a lovely little pass from Warton,
00:20:50round the corner,
00:20:50look at it played in to him,
00:20:51he fired it in to Salah.
00:20:52So Hugo Ekotike is a palindrome, Ali.
00:21:10Is he?
00:21:11His name, Ekotike,
00:21:13is the same back was all through.
00:21:14Have you had a palindrome?
00:21:15No, no, I knew it was a weird voice now,
00:21:17we don't get what it was, aren't we?
00:21:18the amount of quizzes you do in various newspapers
00:21:24I didn't think I'd need to explain it
00:21:26here's Wharton
00:21:37okay here's the Crystal Palace
00:21:39captain
00:21:40he's finished last season
00:21:43in sensational form in terms of scoring goals
00:21:45and making them
00:21:46for Crystal Palace
00:21:47I think I'm right in saying
00:21:50that the cause doesn't exist anymore either
00:21:52so that strengthens the belief
00:21:53that he's going to be a Crystal Palace player
00:21:55for the foreseeable future
00:21:57that'll be music to the ears of the Palace fans
00:21:59I would imagine
00:22:00what a talent, lovely talent
00:22:01one of these boys you just could watch all day down
00:22:11so this is the opportunity
00:22:13for the first long throw-in today
00:22:14from the United States International
00:22:16Chris Richards
00:22:18and it looks as though LeCroix the number five is going to be the target
00:22:24he's beaten in the air there by Canate
00:22:26and then away by Frimpock
00:22:28Mitchell slides it through here for Camada
00:22:34promising here for Crystal Palace
00:22:35and he's managed to find a bit of space
00:22:36and then he went over
00:22:37and they'll get the corner
00:22:39Frimpock was working hard to get back there for Liverpool
00:22:41what a touch
00:22:43what a take and a half turn from Camada
00:22:44excellent
00:22:47he gets the ball first doesn't he
00:22:49he definitely gets the ball first but
00:22:51take nothing away from the touch and the turn
00:22:53just on that if there is a
00:22:57a VAR decision today
00:22:59then the referee Chris Cavanaugh will explain to the crowd
00:23:01the reasoning
00:23:03so we'll get that on the microphone
00:23:04over the PA system
00:23:06as the game develops
00:23:08he goes to Crystal Palace
00:23:13call it
00:23:13it's headed away by Canate
00:23:14now the counter-attack may well be on for Liverpool
00:23:19look at them flying forward
00:23:20they've got a four on two
00:23:21and had that been a better pass
00:23:23they might well have been in
00:23:24Frimpock was charging forward
00:23:25I think it was Camada
00:23:27who got a vital touch
00:23:28and that's a foul
00:23:29on Ezzer
00:23:30yeah he just took him out
00:23:34Canate didn't he
00:23:35probably a little bit fortunate there
00:23:39could have been the wrong end of a yellow
00:23:44I must say Ali
00:23:49when they sprung forward like that
00:23:51that was like the days of Jurgen Klopp
00:23:53I mean they were much more
00:23:54controlled weren't they
00:23:55last season the first season
00:23:56they're on a slot
00:23:57but they've got players now
00:23:58that can get from back to front
00:23:59so quickly Liverpool
00:24:00yeah I think you make a good point
00:24:06actually Palace
00:24:07who we expect to be quite good
00:24:08in the counter
00:24:09will have to get back in
00:24:10very very quickly
00:24:12after the counter
00:24:13central defenders of St Keihy
00:24:24Lacroix and Richards
00:24:25three central defenders
00:24:27all into
00:24:28Liverpool's penalty area
00:24:31it's the end where the Liverpool supporters are
00:24:36behind
00:24:36Alisson's goal
00:24:37in touch there from Mitchell
00:24:44which means that Ezzer can hit one
00:24:46it took a deflection
00:24:47and it's behind for a corner
00:24:48yeah it doesn't look as though it's going in
00:24:58just control thing
00:24:58so there's light
00:24:59in the corner
00:25:00and it's going to take the corner
00:25:11so Ezzer
00:25:11now to take the corner
00:25:12for Crystal Palace
00:25:15it's a good header up the front post
00:25:17by the goal scorer
00:25:18Eketike
00:25:19back in by Kamada
00:25:22and the offside flag up
00:25:24against Crystal Palace
00:25:26here's the goal again
00:25:33just watch
00:25:33gets played into him
00:25:35he thinks about a back flick
00:25:36takes a touch there
00:25:39and it's a beautiful finish
00:25:42beautiful composed finish
00:25:43struck but also placed at the same time
00:25:46aiming for that far corner
00:25:49I mean that's the moment where
00:25:54Liverpool's future becomes the present
00:25:56the goal made in the Bundesliga
00:25:57from last season
00:25:58finished off here at Wembley Stadium
00:25:59between a 22 year old
00:26:01and a 23 year old
00:26:02who they've spent a lot of money on
00:26:04but
00:26:04there is now the pressure
00:26:05on the pair of them to deliver
00:26:07Wharton for Crystal Palace
00:26:15followed them by Lacroix
00:26:18Trim Pong was back there
00:26:20what a touch that is by the way
00:26:21from Eketike
00:26:22and then Burtz has got
00:26:23Mo Salah running forward
00:26:25and it goes towards
00:26:27Cody Gatto
00:26:28what a save by Dean Henderson
00:26:30fantastic save
00:26:32the touch from Eketike
00:26:33the start of all
00:26:34that was brilliant
00:26:35I mean the move itself
00:26:36was excellent
00:26:37we've got to see the touch again
00:26:39the touch was beautiful
00:26:40oh look at that
00:26:43outside the right foot
00:26:44and he's off
00:26:45you're right
00:26:49ends up a good save
00:26:50from Henderson
00:26:51might just have been offside
00:26:52I don't think there's any doubt about it
00:26:54goalkeeper obviously
00:26:55doesn't know that
00:26:56it's an awkward one
00:26:57because it bounces
00:26:57look at that touch
00:27:01I've got to say
00:27:03that if that's
00:27:04a taste of things to come
00:27:05then Liverpool
00:27:07will entertain us
00:27:08royally
00:27:09this season
00:27:10play through now
00:27:17towards Mateta
00:27:18who's onside
00:27:19out comes Alisson
00:27:20and he did well there
00:27:23didn't he
00:27:23the Liverpool goalkeeper
00:27:24danger still not clear
00:27:25Ismail Assar on the turn
00:27:26but he's gone over
00:27:27now what's the referee say
00:27:28penalty
00:27:29Portugal Van Dijk
00:27:30and Crystal Palace
00:27:32have a penalty here
00:27:33in the community shield
00:27:34well they cut the things
00:27:36to go over
00:27:37the big fella's got to get shot away
00:27:39he's got to score
00:27:40that said
00:27:42there's no hesitation
00:27:45from the referee
00:27:45Christopher Kamana
00:27:47that touch there
00:27:49does he make contact
00:27:52with his left foot
00:27:53yes
00:27:54I think it's a penalty
00:27:55I think it's a penalty
00:27:57Fletch
00:27:58I don't think the big fella
00:27:59touches the ball at all
00:28:00of course I mentioned
00:28:09the goalkeeper
00:28:09as well
00:28:10you're right
00:28:10I'm giving Mateta
00:28:11a little bit of a hard time
00:28:12there but the goalkeeper
00:28:13does exceptionally well
00:28:14makes himself big
00:28:14and doesn't get down
00:28:15very patient
00:28:16wasn't he
00:28:16Alisson
00:28:16timed it well
00:28:17it's been checked
00:28:18by Paul T
00:28:19and it is a penalty
00:28:19all confirmed
00:28:20but I think the picture's
00:28:21told us that
00:28:21anyway
00:28:22I think they're just
00:28:26having a look at the
00:28:27offside in the build-up
00:28:29but that's been confirmed
00:28:30as well now
00:28:31so the penalty stands
00:28:32I think it's Kerkia
00:28:35who just plays him on
00:28:36side
00:28:36you know
00:28:36in the left back position
00:28:37well Liverpool have
00:28:40had the lion's share of it
00:28:41but Jean-Philippe Mateta
00:28:43who scored 17 goals
00:28:44for Crystal Palace
00:28:45last season
00:28:46has the chance
00:28:47to bring them level
00:28:49Mateta against
00:28:51Alisson
00:28:52and scores
00:28:53took the penalty
00:28:55fantastically
00:28:56and Crystal Palace
00:28:58level in the
00:28:59community shield
00:28:59courtesy of their
00:29:00top scorer
00:29:01from last season
00:29:01well the one thing
00:29:03I wish he had done
00:29:04he ran up with a lot
00:29:06more confidence
00:29:06than he did
00:29:08a minute and a half
00:29:09prior to that
00:29:09I looked at him
00:29:11running up for his
00:29:12chance and I thought
00:29:12you know
00:29:13he didn't look
00:29:14to me a man
00:29:15that was confident
00:29:15he was going to stick
00:29:16the ball by the goalkeeper
00:29:17he's run up
00:29:18and the penalty
00:29:18was the complete opposite
00:29:19there you are
00:29:21no problem
00:29:23this has been quite
00:29:25a lively 16 minutes
00:29:26I have to say
00:29:26well I was about to say
00:29:28that I mean
00:29:28sometimes these can be
00:29:29a little bit slow
00:29:30and a bit lethargic
00:29:31because the teams
00:29:31are focused on what
00:29:32might be lying ahead
00:29:33for them
00:29:34but a couple of goals
00:29:35inside 17 minutes
00:29:36there's the celebration
00:29:37from Oliver Glasner
00:29:38and it's Crystal Palace
00:29:40won
00:29:40Liverpool won
00:29:41Hugo Eketike
00:29:42and Jean-Philippe
00:29:45Mateta
00:29:45and I'm going to mention
00:29:46them again
00:29:47in the build-up
00:29:48a lovely little ball
00:29:49in the middle of the park
00:29:49forward from Adam Warton
00:29:50smashing little ball
00:29:51and a run for Crystal Palace
00:30:02by Mark Gahy
00:30:03strength on that side
00:30:05shown by Eze
00:30:06but he's lost it here
00:30:07to Bert
00:30:07so now Dominic
00:30:08across the coastline
00:30:09Kirk has gone straight
00:30:16into Richards
00:30:17and that might just
00:30:18have taken the wind
00:30:18out of him
00:30:19when he was hit there
00:30:20from point blank range
00:30:21look at the Palace fans
00:30:24now
00:30:24that's what it was like
00:30:25here in May
00:30:26oh I know
00:30:27turned around the corner
00:30:40by Bert
00:30:41to Eketike
00:30:42was able to get the ball
00:30:44back again
00:30:44and we know what he likes
00:30:45to do
00:30:46we talk about
00:30:47the Liverpool full-backs
00:30:48but as a wing-back
00:30:49he loves to burst forward
00:30:50with Crystal Palace
00:30:52on this occasion
00:30:53though that's not
00:30:53the best of balls in
00:30:54but he's such an asset
00:30:55as an attacking player
00:30:56to them
00:30:57isn't he Munoz
00:30:57he certainly is
00:30:58and one thing that Gakpo
00:31:00won't like
00:31:00him making those runs
00:31:02and having to go back
00:31:02with him
00:31:03that's why
00:31:04I'll be brutally honest
00:31:05here
00:31:05if it was Tyrik Mitchell
00:31:06I've been attempting
00:31:08to do the exact same
00:31:09with Salah
00:31:09he'll take him back
00:31:10into an area
00:31:11he wouldn't want to go
00:31:12I'm not sure
00:31:12Salah will go
00:31:13with him
00:31:13that's the difference
00:31:14there's Esmael Asaka
00:31:24Crystal Palace
00:31:24fantastic individual season
00:31:28for him last season
00:31:29and here's Munoz
00:31:30Colombian raiding
00:31:31forward again
00:31:32some opportunity as well
00:31:34that's fired right across
00:31:35the face of goal
00:31:37I'm just wondering
00:31:43how far away
00:31:43far in front
00:31:45the ball is
00:31:47from Mattetti
00:31:48here when it comes
00:31:48back across
00:31:49oh I'm just wondering
00:31:50could he have that
00:31:51quicker
00:31:51I mean Mitchell's just
00:31:52walked in there
00:31:53and nobody seemed to
00:31:54realise that he'd arrived
00:31:55and the fella
00:31:56never went back with him
00:31:57that I mentioned
00:31:57two minutes ago
00:31:58so
00:31:59what I'm saying is
00:32:01if I was him
00:32:02I'd be continuing
00:32:03to do that
00:32:04for the rest of the match
00:32:05because he will get space
00:32:06Salah is a wonderful
00:32:08wonderful talent
00:32:09one of the best
00:32:10we've seen in a long
00:32:11long time
00:32:11if you're Mitchell
00:32:13you can attempt to take him
00:32:14in an area
00:32:14he doesn't want to go
00:32:15or does it go
00:32:16it's a good one
00:32:17it's a good one
00:32:22it's a good one
00:32:24it's a good one
00:32:25it's a good one
00:32:26it's rolled by Frimpong
00:32:27it's got in towards
00:32:28goal it's got in
00:32:30goal it's got in
00:32:43oh look at his smile
00:32:46just as the Liverpool
00:32:48supporters
00:32:49were applauding
00:32:51after 20 minutes
00:32:52Diogo Jota
00:32:53in remembrance of him
00:32:55Liverpool score a goal
00:32:57and you wonder if
00:32:58the number 20
00:32:59was looking down
00:33:00at that moment
00:33:00that's unbelievable
00:33:02it's a freakish goal
00:33:03from Frimpong
00:33:04I mean does it come off
00:33:07the outside of his right
00:33:08boot
00:33:08he certainly goes down
00:33:09the outside
00:33:09I've never seen
00:33:12anything in my life
00:33:13I think he hits it
00:33:14with the outside
00:33:15of his right foot
00:33:15it's got bizarre
00:33:17spin on the ball
00:33:17yeah
00:33:18well it has to come off
00:33:19the outside of his right
00:33:20foot for the ball
00:33:21to do that
00:33:21goes down the run
00:33:23takes a
00:33:23he's just trying
00:33:24now
00:33:25he'll probably tell me
00:33:26otherwise
00:33:26I think he's just
00:33:27trying to hang that
00:33:28up at the back post
00:33:28Ali how poignant
00:33:30did Liverpool score
00:33:31at Wembley
00:33:31after 20 minutes
00:33:32incredible
00:33:33after 20 minutes
00:33:35Diogo Jota's number
00:33:37the Liverpool supporters
00:33:38were applauding
00:33:39after 20 minutes
00:33:40in remembrance
00:33:40of their striker
00:33:41and right on cue
00:33:43Jeremy Frimpong
00:33:45scored a bizarre goal
00:33:46for them here
00:33:46sometimes I just
00:33:49need to be
00:33:50it's unbelievable
00:33:53isn't it
00:33:53you know
00:33:54I have to say
00:34:05I have to say Ali
00:34:05that's a hairs on
00:34:06the arm moment
00:34:08the timing of that
00:34:09Liverpool goal
00:34:10Dan you just
00:34:11have to look about
00:34:12there's a lot of
00:34:13people not
00:34:13feel at the moment
00:34:14so Crystal Palace
00:34:18won
00:34:19Liverpool
00:34:192
00:34:20and on the day
00:34:21Liverpool remember
00:34:22their number 20
00:34:24Jeremy Frimpong
00:34:26scores
00:34:26after 20 minutes
00:34:28in the community
00:34:28shield
00:34:29there's a lot of
00:34:46I just need
00:34:47Caercaison
00:34:49blocks the score
00:34:51and that's it
00:34:52that's it
00:34:52that's it
00:34:52that's it
00:34:53there by Dominic
00:34:55here's Cody
00:34:56Gepo
00:34:57and you've done
00:34:59well getting back
00:35:00to him
00:35:00that's a lovely
00:35:01lovely ball
00:35:02Mateta to Eza
00:35:03now he needs
00:35:04a bit of support
00:35:04Sars the nearest
00:35:05to him
00:35:06but look how
00:35:06quickly Frimpong
00:35:07gets back to winning
00:35:08go for the first
00:35:10time in the early
00:35:11stage of the game
00:35:12so the only thing
00:35:22with that
00:35:22Frimpong
00:35:23very similar
00:35:24in respect
00:35:25to somebody
00:35:25like that
00:35:25I would say
00:35:26Kyle Walker
00:35:26a pace
00:35:27can get them
00:35:27back out
00:35:28not a challenge
00:35:28this is the
00:35:29space that
00:35:30Burtz wants
00:35:30to play
00:35:30in
00:35:31he's just
00:35:35met at the
00:35:36ball there
00:35:37by Eza
00:35:37Mitchell
00:35:38there
00:35:38resolve
00:35:39the Crystal
00:35:39Palace
00:35:39don't think he
00:35:47means it
00:35:47either
00:35:48he's up for
00:35:50it isn't
00:35:50he
00:35:50he's up for
00:36:03he's up for
00:36:04he just kind of stabs at it down and i i believe he's trying to play at the back post area but
00:36:09because he's stabbed at it with the outside of his right foot it does put an element of spin on it
00:36:17well the players on a warm day are going to take a drinks break
00:36:22it's been quite a start with three goals so far today
00:36:27the liverpool's two goals scored by new players as well hugo ekatike and jeremy
00:36:32frimpong the mateta penalty it gives us a chance to tell you about the games we've got coming up
00:36:37the super cup on wednesday between paris sachemann and tottenham and the premier league kickoff is
00:36:42aston villa against newcastle and the football lineup on tnt sports this season isn't normal
00:36:47we've got 52 premier league matches 529 games from uefa's club competitions as well as the most
00:36:53extensive ever coverage of the emirates fa cup and the adobe women's fa cup but if that's not enough
00:36:58we've got season-long action from seriat as well it's all to come get your rest alley when you can
00:37:05because you're going to be a busy man i think you will be too by the signs of that well possibly
00:37:10possibly but you know something we love it don't we absolutely do you know what with the world cup
00:37:15to come next summer as well i think i'm as excited about the start of this football season yeah as i
00:37:20have been for a while you think about the big clubs in the league they've all got better big players are
00:37:24coming in i think the title race is going to be more competitive i think city and chelsea are going
00:37:29to be closer arsenal have got a strike and now a lot's happened over the summer no doubt about it
00:37:34some great signings some interesting signings
00:37:36that's a bad ball it's always looking for somebody to come across and attack it
00:37:56just looks like a slight knock and eye issue here for ibrahima canate if there is one area for
00:38:00liverpool where they might just be a fraction week it could be their central defensive position yeah
00:38:06you just want to see joe gomez get fit stay fit that's what you you want to see i know that steven
00:38:12adamant was pretty adamant prior to the game when he was chatting down there with you and laura that
00:38:16they will go and get themselves the central defender before the window closes that's probably more
00:38:19urgent than the isac situation right now
00:38:30crystal tallis are going to have to make a change here and will hughes
00:38:44is ready as you can see it looks as though it's going to be for daichi kamada
00:38:52which with the premier league season only a week away that's the last thing that you want to see
00:38:57if you're oliver glasner they've only made a couple of signings benitez the goalkeeper
00:39:01who's on the bench and borna sosa as well they've only spent three million pounds up to now but i
00:39:05think the focus has been on keeping what they've got in the main they're not the only team in the
00:39:10premier league have been focused on that no and that was my point in discussions earlier before the
00:39:14match i think if you asked crystal palace fans right yeah every old fans want to see new players
00:39:19come and strengthen but the grand scheme of things i think the improvement in crystal
00:39:23palace as a team and as a squad new manager has been pretty evident so
00:39:27certainly heading in the right direction
00:39:38there's uh steve parish who had a busy friday when he was in lausanne arguing crystal palace's
00:39:44case to play in the europa league this season sat alongside clinton morrison the former crystal
00:39:49palace striker
00:39:54commander leaving the field here to be replaced by will hughes he played 41 games for them last season
00:39:59so it's an experienced player to bring up
00:40:04there's not a run rossley he'll be ready to go
00:40:18it's towards cody gackpo but headed away by richards
00:40:31flick inside by eka tk they don't lack the confidence those two do they birds and eka tk who seem to be
00:40:37on the same way already you just get the feeling they're going to enjoy playing with each other
00:40:45especially now you know he's a palindrome
00:40:52it's always surprised me and disappointed me to a certain degree that the word palindrome isn't a
00:40:56palindrome if you're going to have a word for a palindrome you should have made that a palindrome
00:41:00there is only you that would pick that way it's why it's why i love you
00:41:07it's the boss line with a nice ball here's cody gampo there's a real flow of that with a
00:41:11player they get forward
00:41:15supposed nice ball frimpong in an advanced position back to florian birds away by ezer
00:41:26okay combining with support line that's going to be a throw in
00:41:30alexis mccallister in the starting lineup today he's had one or two injuries during pre-season
00:41:43he's had a bit of a stop start pre-season so he's on the bench here for liverpool not quite ready to start
00:42:00a little bit deeper now here's kirkez looking for the run of ekatike
00:42:30so there is liverpool's new number seven and the irony is ali it's 48 years to the day since
00:42:41liverpool signed kenny dalgleish from celtic
00:42:47i know i'm biased
00:42:48i hope he does well vux kenny with my mind what a player that's a lot to live up to but he's got the
00:43:02talent and the confidence you feel florian birds 100 million pounds initially but it does rise to
00:43:08about 116 if he meets all of the add-ons and escalators
00:43:15as i sent it forward here towards sar that's the way by suppose light
00:43:22it's the first time today the teams have played against each other at wembley
00:43:35a possible moment for crystal palace is that the fa cup winners have beaten the league champions in
00:43:40seven of the last nine community shield games
00:43:45what a deficit though to make up at the moment liverpool ahead last time they played at neutral
00:43:49venue was the famous fa cup semi-final at talisman 4-3 yeah i remember it well yeah
00:43:55back in 1990
00:43:56it's an endless game that was looking at football
00:44:14tk not quite able to find frimtong he slipped
00:44:17on the move against van duik and he's got mateta running in
00:44:28i think he wanted initially to shoot didn't he because he did the angle
00:44:31course he does when it goes by vert so now it's a kachika in space for liverpool and he's got
00:44:35gatto and salah up there with him
00:44:39gatto too strong for cues now mo salah
00:44:47so he just puts his right leg across knowing that hughes will kick it over
00:45:12loses balance very clever
00:45:17it's a big difference
00:45:20and that thinks one forward cody cacto brings it now
00:45:21that thinks one forward cody cacto brings it down
00:45:23it came in from munoz
00:46:25Will it be a slightly different style for them?
00:46:28I'm not sure about dramatic change, Dan, to be quite honest here.
00:46:31I think, you know, when they can hit you in the break, they'll be very good at it.
00:46:35But generally in possession, they're extremely comfortable with full-backs getting forward.
00:46:39Challenging ball there by Eza.
00:46:40A space here for Munoz.
00:46:42He's got players arriving in the middle.
00:46:43But Teta is the target here.
00:46:45And it works its way through in there to Hughes, who came in late.
00:46:49They've just managed to beat Mitchell to the ball, but they were just struggling a little bit there, Liverpool, to deal with that.
00:46:54Lovely switch.
00:46:55Lovely switch to Munoz.
00:46:56It's a good ball in.
00:46:57I'm just wondering, at my tent of attack, take it in front of Canati, but Hughes is clearly off-balance at the best.
00:47:04Yeah, I'm just wondering if he could have run across them rather than behind them.
00:47:07And he's leaning back for the short.
00:47:09But he's getting forwarded a couple of times, and that's right-hand side.
00:47:11Hasn't scored since the final day of the season in 2023, so none of the exactly familiar surroundings for Will Hughes.
00:47:24We can have a space here for Dominic Subosla in Liverpool.
00:47:27Munoz got back well, though.
00:47:28It just took too long in possession, didn't he?
00:47:29And now they can go the other way, Palace, although...
00:47:32...Ishmai Lassar didn't read the intentions there.
00:47:34Well, he had to check his run-down.
00:47:37He wanted it earlier, when it wasn't delivered earlier, to step back onside, and that was the problem.
00:47:42He was coming back when the pass got made.
00:47:58So, Crystal Palace 1, Liverpool 2.
00:48:00Eight minutes to play.
00:48:01In the first half here, it won't be, that's given us plenty.
00:48:05Very enjoyable.
00:48:14One thing that is maybe worth pointing out at this stage, to this point, Mo Salas had six touches of the ball.
00:48:19Yeah.
00:48:20Yeah.
00:48:20I love it, it's gone through Florian Wurtz and Hugo Ekotique, to this point.
00:48:27You're very well aware what he can do with his seventh, though, aren't you?
00:48:29Yeah, there is that.
00:48:32There is that.
00:48:36Rorton plays the ball, it was a good run, wasn't it, from Mitchell, who just tried to bend his run, so he stayed onside.
00:48:40As I kept the wood fair, kept Fring Pong out there, and Mitchell came up and tried to nip in between him and Kanati, Fring Pong Kanati.
00:48:50It's an interesting one, because Kerkers might just be playing him onside, you know.
00:48:54He's a different title wing-back, isn't he, the Munoz on this side, he's not the barnstormer, but he times those runs really well.
00:49:00Yeah, that's two or three times he's done that in the first half, Mitchell.
00:49:19Left side flag up against Cody Gapton.
00:49:25Went short, went short, then spun into Hayden and yours, but she went a little bit early.
00:49:30It's one of those days at Wembley, if you're a supporter, you want to win, but it doesn't absolutely cripple you if you don't win.
00:49:40I mean, you can enjoy it today, can't you?
00:49:41Yeah, I suppose that doesn't happen very often, I'll take a point.
00:49:44It means so much, doesn't it, whenever you come for a cup final, but the Community Shield, you've done the business, enjoy your day.
00:49:49If you get the Shield, fine, if you don't, you've got the season to look forward to next weekend.
00:49:53Yeah, indeed.
00:50:00Crystal Palace here today without either Cech Ducore or Eddie Nketiah.
00:50:16Still out injured at the moment, so two players that might well play a part as the season develops, but not available right now.
00:50:23Joe Gomez, not with Liverpool, and as we mentioned earlier, Ryan Gravenberg, because he became a dad yesterday.
00:50:32It's over hit by Henderson.
00:50:34A bit of a message, though, it's pretty clear for the Palace Keeper, get yourself a bit higher.
00:50:44He's a great character for the team, isn't he, Henderson?
00:50:46He thoroughly enjoyed saving the penalty at Wembley, and he had the little altercation with Tep after a club.
00:50:52He's got a shrinking violet by any stretcher.
00:50:54I think he's a real contender for the England position as well, moving forward.
00:50:57He'll fancy a real run at Jordan Pickford before the World Cup.
00:51:00I don't think there's any doubt he'll fancy it.
00:51:01Only three goalkeepers last season kept more clean sheets than in from the Freddie Lee.
00:51:11I can tell, he just enjoyed that final so much.
00:51:26Van Dijkle to Kirchhez.
00:51:27He's not being quite as expressive down the left as Frimpong has down the right.
00:51:33I mean, Frimpong just runs up and down for the duration of the match.
00:51:36Kirchhez running now, and Lacroix just holding him off to win Palace the goal kick.
00:51:42He's going to have to get back there, although Canate beat him to it.
00:52:00Interesting season for him, isn't it?
00:52:01Because he went through the whole Van Dijk and Salah and Alexander-Arnold thing,
00:52:04and he's going in for the final year of his contract now as well.
00:52:07Liverpool's centre-back.
00:52:08Two team-mates combining from last season, Florian Wirtz and Jeremy Frimpong,
00:52:18who are both at via Leverkusen.
00:52:24It's a little bit of a deception from Wirtz,
00:52:27and he gets the ball back again from St. Bosleif.
00:52:29Are we going to enjoy him?
00:52:30No, just a great little ton, wasn't it?
00:52:31Nekatike flicking one back in, Richard's there though, for Talos.
00:52:49It's a person they're not able to find Nekatike.
00:52:53Here's Mateta, it's a free kick to Crystal Talos.
00:52:56He's claiming he took the ball, and do you know something?
00:52:59He might have got a touch in the ball,
00:53:00but he certainly takes a man.
00:53:02And after the last couple, I think it's a yellow card.
00:53:06Nah, he doesn't take the ball at all.
00:53:07Yellow card and a free kick.
00:53:12He thought he was kind of complaining,
00:53:13he thought he got a nick on the ball,
00:53:15but not the way I saw it.
00:53:20Just going to try and get it confirmed,
00:53:22but it feels as though Florian Wirtz has had the most touches of any player
00:53:25in the first half.
00:53:26It feels as though the game is being played through him.
00:53:30Well, I'm not surprised you don't know the tally,
00:53:32because you're enjoying him.
00:53:35Shooter there for Liverpool.
00:53:40I'm told he's actually fourth.
00:53:41Virgil van Dijk is the leading toucher of the ball in the first half,
00:53:45but it tends to be the case, doesn't it,
00:53:46in the modern game,
00:53:46that the centre-backs are touching it a lot.
00:53:48You seem to be backtracking a little bit here, Duff.
00:53:51Listen, it's the opening day of the season,
00:53:53I may as well start as I mean to go on
00:53:54and get things wrong in the first half.
00:53:57Oh, you've not got caught right in that,
00:53:59let's be honest.
00:54:06Offside flag up against Liverpool.
00:54:07Well, for that logic, I think we're talking about agreement
00:54:12that Salah might have had the least.
00:54:13Yes.
00:54:19Well, we think there's going to be six additional minutes,
00:54:21and you've got to take the drinks break into account as well,
00:54:23so that's why it's a bit longer than you might anticipate.
00:54:27It's been a good half, though.
00:54:27Liverpool ahead early through Eketika,
00:54:30a goal inside four minutes,
00:54:31Mateta's penalty after Sarabin fouled by Van Dijk,
00:54:34and then Frimpong after 20 minutes
00:54:38as the Liverpool supporters were appalling the memory
00:54:40of Diogo Jota, he scored.
00:54:43Diogo Jota, of course, Liverpool's number 20,
00:54:45so that really was a poignant and a special moment
00:54:48here at Wembley.
00:54:49It certainly was,
00:54:50and that was an interesting little tussle down
00:54:53the left-hand side there.
00:54:55Eketika and Minions.
00:54:57Hey, Richard's a big effort.
00:54:58Hoisted forward there by Van Dijk.
00:55:01Frimpong went in with Mitchell.
00:55:02Hughes can then send it forward.
00:55:05There is Van Dijk,
00:55:06he's got all the confidence in the world,
00:55:07not just to head it away,
00:55:08but to actually head it to his coffee.
00:55:11He knows exactly what he's doing there.
00:55:22So, seven added minutes,
00:55:24Florian Burt's got the yellow card
00:55:25for kicking the ball away,
00:55:26so delaying the restart,
00:55:28the only real blemish
00:55:29on his first-half performance.
00:55:32There's a stat there in the rounds
00:55:37over the last two seasons,
00:55:38the only two players
00:55:38who've got at least 10 goals
00:55:40and 10 assists
00:55:41in the last two seasons
00:55:42of the top five leagues in Europe,
00:55:44Mo Salah, Florian Burt.
00:55:48If you like that kind of thing.
00:55:49I do.
00:55:50I would certainly get Salah.
00:55:52I'm not sure if I was a second-guess,
00:55:53but I would have got there.
00:55:54time for Munoz.
00:56:08I'm not necessarily sure
00:56:09Richard's was expecting that,
00:56:11and then he got himself
00:56:12I think he got away with it
00:56:16by taking a five-touch there,
00:56:17Richard.
00:56:18I think if he'd taken a good touch
00:56:20here,
00:56:22or it might have done
00:56:24a severe injustice there,
00:56:25it might have been brilliant.
00:56:27I think we've got to give him the credit.
00:56:28He was aware that he had a player
00:56:32on his right-hand side.
00:56:34There's that switch again,
00:56:35there.
00:56:35Yeah, Superball,
00:56:36Alton Munoz is in behind Liverpool here.
00:56:38Now, can he deliver a good toss?
00:56:39Well, he did.
00:56:43It was an interesting situation there
00:56:45for Saru,
00:56:45threw himself at the ball,
00:56:46but again,
00:56:47it's Munoz getting in behind Liverpool
00:56:48down the right.
00:56:50I can't add it as well.
00:56:51He does brilliant.
00:56:52He does brilliant.
00:56:53He just sees him
00:56:54coming out of the corner of his eye,
00:56:55watch us and blocks him
00:56:56and grabs him with his arm.
00:56:57There.
00:56:58He does enough to put him off.
00:57:01I think centre-back does well there, Dan.
