In an official meeting with the diplomatic corps accredited in Venezuela, Foreign Minister Yván Gil strongly condemned the latest US attacks, describing these actions as part of the “deranged policies of US imperialism,” He called on the international community to collectively denounce and stop what Venezuela considers illegal interference and unilateral coercive measures, reaffirming Maduro's legitimacy and seeking global solidarity, especially from allies such as Russia, China, Iran, and the ALBA countries, to oppose Washington's pressure.

00:00Since March 2015, precisely, the then President Barack Obama made an executive decree that said that Venezuela, a country of 30 million inhabitants, a humble country of Latin America,
00:28but lies over the greatest reserves of oil on the planet, was declared by the U.S. government, the Democrat government of Obama, as an unusual and extraordinary threat.
00:43It's been 10 years now since that infamous declaration.
00:50That was nothing but a prelude of what has happened afterwards.
00:58From that decree, that's when the worst of attacks, the worst of aggressions that we have experienced were launched against our Bolivar Republic.
01:20And this is in more than 214 years, 215 years of our foundation in the year 1810.
01:30An attack that took all shapes that could exist.
01:41Blockades against our international trade, sabotage against our industries,
01:51like in oil and services, sabotage against our national currency,
02:02and all versions that we can see of economic attacks.
02:13Even in an inhumane category that we can say that happened during the worst pandemic that humanity has known in the last centuries,
02:32as it was the COVID-19 pandemic, where they try to block our access to medicines, our access to vaccines and equipments.
02:49Well, thanks to the powerful structure of relations that we have with most countries in the world,
03:00we were able to overcome those challenges of COVID-19.
03:06The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China is here, who provided us with vaccines, very successful vaccines.
03:19The Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey, who also provided us with supplies, and Iran.
03:26All friendly countries, we were able to access properly these resources to be able to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
03:39And I mention it because it is the example of the greater evil that we have seen at the international arena.
03:53They did not allow us to use our own funds of the Bolivar Republic of Venezuela to purchase these medicines and face a global pandemic.
04:04The International Monetary Fund, they took away our right to access our own resources.
04:14And this happened in the first place due to this legal structure that the government of the U.S. created through the decree of Obama,
04:27but also with the participation of many other countries of that so-called Western world of Europe, the European Union,
04:38that blocked us, sanctioned us, and attacked us, and continued today to attack us.
04:47And they continue to try to submit us.
05:00This aggression had its most bizarre moment in 2019 when a group of countries attempted to disregard the will of the Venezuelan people
05:19and imposed from abroad a fake government.
05:26Fortunately, our institutions, the institutions of the Bolivarian Revolution, are strong because they are based on the people's power,
05:41in the support of the people.
05:44Besides, in a formula of unity of all forces of the nation,
05:53mainly the Bolivarian armed forces, a civic military union that allow us to give stability to the people of Venezuela,
06:02a stability based on the principle of participatory democracy, of our democracy, our revolutionary democracy.
06:12We, despite all these attacks that you know very well, because we have talked about them a lot in this scenario,
06:24we were able to, from very early moments in 2018, we were able to put the country in a good track,
06:39thanks to the policies of President Nicolás Maduro and the alliances built at the international level,
06:46we were able to establish a path for growth.
06:51We have managed now 17 quarters of economic growth.
07:00We were able to recover a great part of our oil industry.
07:05But also, we reached an important milestone, that is the one of food security and sovereignty.
07:14We were able to reactivate a lot of our industries that were completely paralyzed,
07:20due to the impossibility to access financing and raw materials and technology.
07:29And that's water under the bridge now.
07:39We were able to advance and follow a path of growth in the economic aspect.
07:57In the political aspect, it has been proven for the last 26 years of Bolivarian revolution,
08:06that this constitution, the constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
08:12is the framework that gives the greater stability, political stability for the nation.
08:17With all the different mechanisms of participation and consultation and interaction between
08:23all the different institutional powers of the nation.
08:28and despite attacks that were no longer part of the economic aspect,
08:39but direct attacks, aggressions, direct hostilities,
08:43as an attempt to assassinate the president in 2017.
08:48When drone technology was but beginning,
08:55that today is broadly used, unfortunately, in most military conflicts.
09:02In 2018, it was used.
09:08I think for the first time, that has been documented a drone attack
09:12against the president of the republic,
09:16against the political high command of the nation,
09:19the high military command of the nation.
09:22And even with the presence of diplomats,
09:26I don't know how many of you were present there at that time.
09:32But I'm sure that some were present there in that moment.
09:39A moment that fortunately nothing happened,
09:45it could have created the greatest social outburst known in Latin America in centuries.
09:54And it was avoided thanks to our early detection systems and protection systems.
10:01All this came before street violence and terrorism and assassination attempts against important figures
10:17and sabotage as has been proven by our security agencies,
10:23our corresponding institutions, the judiciary.
10:30We have faced all kinds of aggressions.
10:35And today, we are here because we are in front of a new episode.
10:42I wouldn't say a new one.
10:47I would say a continuation of these aggressions.
10:51Just a few days ago, we saw an incident.
10:58I keep saying that it's ridicule the U.S. Justice Department and the U.S. State Department
11:14going against any principles of international law,
11:17against a legitimate president, against a constitutional president,
11:22without any kind of proofs,
11:27with fake testimonies and fake stories and narratives,
11:31and they have put a bounty
11:39on a legitimate president,
11:42offering a reward, a millionaire reward,
11:4650 million dollars to whomever provides information
11:55that leads to the arrest of President Maduro,
11:58without any kind of trial,
12:01and also going over extraterritorial justice on the part of the U.S.
12:06And I say again,
12:09it's a ridicule and absurd incident,
12:16which implies lack of knowledge of international law.
12:25The president is carrying on with his work in the Miraflores Palace,
12:30talking with the people on the streets,
12:32meeting with special envoys, with diplomats,
12:36closing negotiations,
12:38closing agreements for the homeland,
12:40signing decrees.
12:43It's a joke,
12:44not only for Latin American countries and the Caribbean,
12:48and it's a joke for the own U.S. people,
12:53turning policy in a show,
12:57in a laughable show.
13:03And from here we call to the international community,
13:09and that's why we gather here,
13:11because it is important that we all condemn this kind of action.
13:16It cannot be possible that from a government,
13:23they put a price on the head of any other head of state,
13:27head of government, or president of the world,
13:30and nothing happens.
13:35But what's even worse is that we have seen
13:42how imperialism,
13:46using its information methods and psychological warfare,
13:56have tried to set the narrative that there is a secret decree
14:01of President Trump
14:05that authorizes its army
14:10to fight what they call the drug cartels,
14:17in clear allusion to justify something that would be crazy,
14:24an attack against Venezuela,
14:29against Mexico or Colombia,
14:31or any other country that they consider
14:34that there is a drug cartel.
14:37And we must say this,
14:44the war on drugs,
14:47that at some moment was invented by President Nixon
14:52some decades ago,
14:54has been a complete failure.
14:56in the United States and Europe,
14:59the epidemic of drug consumption and addicts
15:09continues to grow the harm to the youth of those countries.
15:13We see it on the streets,
15:15on the U.S. streets,
15:18in European streets,
15:20in Latin America.
15:22And this is all a result of the failure of a policy that was based
15:30and continues to be based on violence,
15:33in persecution,
15:35in assassinations.
15:37Millions of Latin Americans have been killed.
15:42Millions.
15:43This is something outrageous.
15:47With the pretext of fighting drugs,
16:08what drug experts have both grown,
16:15the DEA,
16:19the U.S. agency,
16:21we know that is the main drug cartel in this world.
16:24It controls the routes.
16:26It controls drug traffickers.
16:27It controls the distribution of drugs.
16:30It is a pretext.
16:32And now they want to do again a second stage
16:35of a war against the drug cartels,
16:39a policy that has failed already.
16:41And this stage of fighting cartels goes beyond
16:47because it's not the supply of weapons or training
16:54to local forces to control the territories,
17:00but it's the use of the military forces of a power that is extremely hostile
17:09and deadly against the peoples of Latin America.
17:13We have seen important reactions from President Claudia Sheinbaum in Mexico,
17:19Colombian President Gustavo Petro,
17:21from Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro,
17:24making a call to the international community.
17:27This must be condemned.
17:30We cannot remain standing still.
17:34They want to turn Latin America in a territory of permanent war.
17:40It is the craziness of a leading class in the United States
17:46that has truly lost all judgment.
17:49The hate they have to see revolutions like in Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua,
18:01that rise up and work for its people.
18:05That's what leads them to commit this kind of craziness.
18:10And we know what they're careful of.
18:13We have seen this.
18:15We have seen their actions in Iran,
18:24which failed because the Iranian people is a sovereign and dignified people,
18:28united people.
18:29We have seen them supporting the genocide in Gaza and the whole Palestine.
18:37So it's a political class that has no humanity,
18:41that has lost all links with life, with values of life.
18:53And this moves us.
18:55This calls on our attention.
18:57And that's why we make this call.
18:59And we ask that you can report back to your capitals this reality.
19:05Besides, all this has been accompanied with a Venezuelan political class
19:21that has been defeated, diminished, which has failed,
19:27that did not find through diplomatic means its aspiration to take on power
19:34due to the rejection they have from the Venezuelan people.
19:39And that has crossed a line, a part of that political class has crossed a line that is very dangerous.
19:52Our Vice President for Sovereignty and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, has exposed to the eyes of the world
20:06the terrorist plan of a sector of the far right, of the Venezuelan far right.
20:19They plan to put explosives, bombs, in a very well known square.
20:31The square where we celebrated the 80th anniversary against fascism with the Russian delegation.
20:44See the symbology of this.
20:48So these are groups that they already defined themselves as fascists
20:52and they pretend to attack the symbols of anti-fascism.
20:56But besides also to bring about death and chaos, hundreds of victims could have happened there.
21:06So it's not only about incidents that are extremely serious as the attempts that have been dismantled
21:16against the Vice President, President and the Defense Minister that have been also documented.
21:21Now they go also against the Venezuelan people to punish the people with bombs.
21:28Fortunately, our prevention system, our protection system, intelligence system,
21:35that is guaranteeing and will guarantee fully the security of our country.
21:42But we must denounce it.
21:48There is a completely out of control group that pretends to create all this violent situation
21:58and they will not achieve it because if you have seen it, if you have seen it, the country is at peace.
22:07Venezuela is a country of peace.
22:11And its people is a people of peace, regardless of its political preferences that exist.
22:21There are people that are from the right, people that are from the left, people that are part of the ruling party or the opposition party.
22:34There was recently an electoral process where 335 mayors were elected, 285 for the ruling party,
22:44but it is a reality, it is a political force built in time with the people.
22:51But there are 50 mayors of opposition parties.
22:55There is a whole state that is governed by the opposition.
23:00So there is ways of participation.
23:03There are deputies, elected deputies from all political currents.
23:11That's why I say this small sector goes against the rule of democracy and peace that the Venezuelan people has.
23:22That's why we call the international community, the country of the world, that these facts be condemned,
23:28as Venezuela condemns all violence and terrorism that happens everywhere in the world.
23:40We have never stopped short from condemning what is wrong anywhere, even less based on ideology reasons.
23:50You know this very well. You know our position of principles in this sense.
23:55And for that reason, we have the moral standing to be able to stand before the world that terrorism in Venezuela will not be accepted and will not occur.
24:09But it's important to denounce it. It's important to show the evidence to the world and ask that these elements be completely isolated.
24:34Because they are acting through all means.
24:41Latin America, you know, in 2014, the ambassador of the Cuban Republic, you know, on December 14, 2014, we declared the region as an area of peace.
24:57And we are going to honor that commitment. And we will conquer it doing what we must do, guaranteeing peace.
25:09all organizations, international organizations, international organizations, multilateral organizations,
25:15Latin America must also raise their voices to guarantee that these threats do not fulfill their objectives.
25:28because they don't aim to only attack Venezuela. What this group of crazy people that have a strong presence in the U.S. government, what they aim to do is to create destabilization fully in the whole of Latin America.
25:52Latin America. To obtain personal benefits, economic benefits, to drain their frustrations and their complex accumulated over the years.
26:08Latin America. They are capable of activating a violent force, hostile force against a whole continent.
26:20Latin America. So we must understand the gravity of the situation.
26:26Latin America. They are capable of attracting their own population to this.
26:30Latin America.
26:31Latin America. They are capable to drag their own population to this.
26:33Because when they impose sanctions on Venezuela, on Venezuelan oil.
26:34Latin America. They are imposing those sanctions on their own people.
26:39Latin America. They limit access to energy of their own people.
26:43Latin America. They go against the judicial security of their own country.
26:47country who trust in having assets under the US legality, or European, nowadays, no one.
27:02If you have a deposit in a European bank or US bank, they can confiscate that deposit
27:12without any reason, without any kind of trial, and that's a reality, and this must be stopped.
27:16Where are the multilateral organizations that have to see this, or is it the law of the
27:23struggle, the law of the jungle?
27:25Fortunately, there's a world that is rising up, and it's putting a stop to this.
27:35There's a new world that is emerging.
27:38Venezuela is part of that new world.
27:41CELAC is an organization of that new world to which we also call that condemns these incidents.
27:52The Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of America is also in the vanguard in this sense.
28:00BRICS as well.
28:05The Shanghai Cooperation Organization are all initiative precisely where cooperation and
28:10collaboration are fundamental.
28:15what is necessary, and I say again, and it's the main issue that we wanted to transmit, is
28:28that you can send to your countries this warning that we make, not from out of fear, but from
28:42action, out of action, this can happen to any country.
28:47They have been doing it to us for 26 years, and they have not been able to achieve anything,
28:52nor will be able to, but they want to do this against all Latin American countries.
28:59They want to do it also against Asian countries.
29:03So we are before a historical moment that is extremely serious of world order.
29:14So we understand because it's because we are doing a new world governance, and there are fears in imperialism
29:21that that new world order consolidates.
29:27It is unstoppable movement.
29:32The new world order that we are creating, this kind of action will not stop it.
29:37But we have courage and moral standing to be able to denounce this before the world.
29:43There can be a spark that creates a very serious situation in which it will not be the people the ones that will be defeated.
29:57It will not be the people of Latin America who will be defeated.
30:02What can happen is exactly the opposite.
30:05A great revolution in Latin America that in the end accelerates the necessary changes to consolidate peace and stability internationally.
30:18And we are doing it in the democratic, peaceful way.
30:23But if the time came that these peoples were attacked, eventually these people will react.
30:32And we did it before.
30:37I believe it is time that we put an end to this situation, to this barbarity.
30:48We, I say once more, in these long years, in these long ten years, we have experienced all kinds of situations.
30:58We have launched a recovery process that is moving steadily and fast.
31:05There's still much more to do.
31:08But we were able to stabilize the main variables in the economy, in politics, in our country.
31:15We are today, we have no doubts.
31:18And this you can also transmit it to all your governments.
31:23Today we are the Latin American country with the greatest political stability.
31:27With greatest social stability.
31:30With an economic growth, with the biggest economic growth perspective.
31:36And we, it is not us just saying this.
31:41International organizations are also saying.
31:44The International Monetary Fund themselves has had to admit this.
31:49And they will never take us out of this.
31:54They won't derail us.
31:56We will continue on our path for growth.
32:00Venezuela is open to all capital in the world for investment in agriculture, in industry, in energy, in petrochemicals.
32:12You know this.
32:15Ambassadors and every day, there's activities, different economic actors of the country.
32:26You leave this daily.
32:31Something that can't be seen.
32:34And that's what that derailed political class in the United States is seeing and is trying to stop it.
32:40But they wouldn't be able to do it.
32:43We will continue building our alliances with the sovereign and independent countries of the world.
32:51We will continue to invest in social development and economic development.
32:55And we will continue promoting an inclusive model for all Venezuelans.
33:00And we will also continue promoting a true Latin American Union.
33:06Which is the only path to defeat blockades and sanctions and aggressions.
33:14In peace.
33:15But we are also ready to endure and triumph.
33:24Well, we've seen some of the statements in a special meeting with the foreign minister of Venezuela,
33:30Ivan Hill, with the diplomatic corps accredited in Venezuela, where he was calling on their respective countries to denounce the latest U.S. aggressions that have been taking place,
33:39with the imposition of a $50 million bounty on the legitimate president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro,
33:45and all the different aggressions that have been taking place in the latest days that we have been reporting here on Telesur.
33:52And it was a special meeting where the foreign minister was calling on the international community to denounce
33:57and to together put an end to these, as he was saying, the real policies of the U.S. imperialism.
