Badabing: Trying Manchester’s BEST sandwich shop?!?

We went along to Badabing to sample one of Manchester’s most famous sandwich shops to see if it lives up to the hype (IT DOES).

00:04Sampling Staples. The idea is I go out into Manchester and try one of the best lunch spots

00:09in the city, let you know what I think and talk a little bit about the place and its story and

00:13today we're going to a place that I'm ashamed to say I haven't made it to at all yet and that is

00:18Badabing. Now they came into existence born out of the lockdown in 2022 with a number of pop-ups

00:23around Piccadilly and Ancotes selling Italian style sub sandwiches and then last year they

00:29opened up a permanent spot here in the northern quarter right opposite another Manchester staple

00:33in the coffee pot. The sandwiches are seen as one of the best in the entire city and I am very very

00:38excited to be giving it a try so let's talk a little bit about the story and have a look inside the store

00:42so here we are we'll get back to the office and give it a try this is the Philly Pork which is one

00:48of their hot sandwiches they have hot and cold the cold are made up of brilliant looking Italian cold

00:53cuts and awesome range of options so we've made it back to the office let's have a look shall we

01:03start with these

01:07and look these sandwiches are not the cheapest but you're paying for a meal that basically will

01:14last you for two it's not the most expensive lunch that you'll get in Manchester either and the quality

01:19the ingredients the fact that you're supporting an independent business all these things really

01:22should factor in so on this there is pork cheese garlic greens and I think some spicy chilies as well

01:29Italian hoagie bread two let's go for it

01:37I mean that is ridiculous I just need a water one sec

01:42no it's not like punch you in the teeth spicy the spice is perfect actually it perfectly cuts

01:52through the really fatty juicy pork it's a perfectly balanced sandwich the bread is soft

01:58and just gives straight away that's one of the best sandwiches I've ever had but really what you

02:02need to love about this place is the story Sam and Josh like I say set this up during Covid at a time

02:06when people maybe realised that they were doing jobs that they didn't love and saw all the opportunity

02:10to do something that they did love to the highest possible degree of quality and that's what

02:15they've done you have a brilliant independent business that have deals with places like New Balance

02:20top quality merchandise one of the best sandwiches in the city and it's come from this sort of dream

02:25and this idea that actually anyone can achieve whatever they want to do so long as they've got

02:29the passion the drive and the skill as well and that's what Badabing is all about that's what

02:36Manchester is all about so I really can't recommend this place enough get down give it a try give this
