Thailand accused Cambodia of breaching their border ceasefire after a Thai soldier was severely injured by a landmine in Surin province, the latest in a string of similar incidents.

00:08The blast happens at 9 in the morning during a routine patrol
00:11about one kilometer from the Tha Mon Thom temple ruins.
00:17Seven paramilitary rangers were on duty when the mine detonated,
00:21injuring one of them who was rushed to hospital.
00:24The Thai army said the explosion proved Cambodia broke the ceasefire
00:27and violated international bans on landmines.
00:31It called the blast a deliberate attack on Thai forces in Thai territory
00:35and a direct threat to the country's sovereignty.
00:38The incident came just days after Malaysia brokered a truce between Thailand and Cambodia
00:42following five days of deadly clashes.
00:46Finalised on August 7 in Putrajaya,
00:48the agreement pledged to end hostilities and restore communications.
00:52As part of the deal, both countries later invited ASEAN observers
00:56to monitor disputed border areas.
