Police have recovered 200 casino chips worth RM2mil, part of 300 chips stolen from Genting Highlands on Aug 2.

Pahang police chief Comm Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said following a media report on Friday (Aug 8), a man came forward to hand over 200 chips, each valued at RM10,000, which he had bought from a suspect who was part of a junket.

00:24He said the victim bought the chips from the suspect at a hotel lobby on August 2nd via handover without any written agreement.
00:32Police, in cooperation with Interpol, are tracking down the suspect, who is believed to have left the country with the remaining 100 chips worth 1 million ringgit.
00:43Commissioner Yahaya said CCTV footage showed the suspect taking the chips and then heading to the car park before hurriedly leaving the casino and heading to Kuala Lumpur International Airport the same day.
00:55A police report lodged by a junket company manager said the chips had been taken from a closed casino room at the resort.
