Fire and Rescue crews were called to Ryedale Road in Denistone, NSW at around 11.30am on August 11, 2025, where by some miracle no-one had been injured when an excavator slid from a truck, down the slope.
00:00Superintendent Adam Dewberry, Fire and Rescue New South Wales, on scene, I've got to say on an absolute miracle, no one's injured, crash on Rydale Road at Deniston, just to the rear of the Wright Hospital.
00:14At 11.35pm, all emergency services were responded to reports of a truck that has lost its braking or control, an excavator dislodged, it's gone down a steep incline on this road at Rydale Road and it has taken out about 11 cars, looks like they're all parked at this stage.
00:38We have a semi-trailer that is jackknifed into the front yard of a home, we have two power poles that have been snapped in half, we have wires hanging down.
00:51The truck and trailer, we have an excavator that has slid off the trailer and become positioned on the road, fortunately no cars were coming up the road at this stage by the look of it, absolute miracle.
01:04I can get some pictures out shortly.
01:09How this event occurred has still been investigated or will be investigated by police and safe work, but we understand at this stage that the excavator may have been in the process of being unloaded off the truck when something has occurred and the truck has started to travel down this massive incline, it's super steep incline here at Rydale Road.
01:31We have power out in the area, this will take some time to clean up.
01:36I'm Superintendent Adam Dewberry, Fire and Rest in New South Wales.
