00:00Fire crews were called to extinguish a fuel tanker after a collision in Sydney's northwest on May 6,
00:062026. Just before 2pm, the fuel tanker collided with a car at the corner of Bowman and Carrington
00:13Roads. Occupants of all the vehicles managed to safety before the truck caught alight. One person
00:20was assessed at the scene and transported to hospital. Fire and Rescue NSW crews declared
00:26a hazmat situation and nine trucks were called to the scene. 36 firefighters worked to establish
00:33a 500 metre exclusion zone around the site in case of explosion. The crews managed to control
00:40the truck fire and doused a grass fire nearby that had ignited from the original fire.
