Glaswegians are excited that Spider-Man 4 is being filmed in the city.
Transcript
00:00We're at the corner of 4th and 5th St Vincent Street and Hope Street on the set of Spider-Man 4.
00:06For too long Spider-Man's been causing trouble in this town and I'm no happy about it.
00:10A large blue screen has just gone past, they've closed the gates here.
00:15The atmosphere is buzzing, there's people everywhere come out to watch.
00:19There's a lot of children in Spider-Man outfits.
00:22No sign of Spider-Man today yet.
00:24Don't know what they're quite up to.
00:26There's lots of fire vans, NYPD vehicles.
00:30It definitely does feel like you're in Manhattan where the set is trying to emulate.
00:37Even there are pieces of Glasgow, parts of this city, that I haven't really probably paid that much attention to.
00:44I didn't realise how much New York actually is.
00:47But New York is actually based on Glasgow, the grid system and the architecture, which makes it the perfect set.
00:55Tom Holland may not have come down, but it looks like Tobey Maguire has, the first ever Spider-Man.
01:01He's out getting pictures with fans right outside Turtle Bay on St Vincent Street.
01:07Great, great spirit from him.
01:08He's posing for everyone.
01:10Is this a Glaswegian or is this Tobey Maguire?
01:13I like movies and that's why I'm coming here to watch the actors and...
01:18So what's happening here today?
01:20I don't know, I don't know.
01:22Spider-Man, the film is Spider-Man.
01:23Spider-Man, yes.
01:25I like Spider-Man, that's why I'm still, but I don't see any film here.
01:29But I see many people here, he's looking to see Spider-Man.
01:34There is Spider-Man in the flesh, the real Spider-Man.
01:38That is Tom Holland or his stunt double.
01:43The excitement is making people dance.
01:48Yeah, yeah, many people is coming out to waiting about 250 minutes to watch Spider-Man.
01:54And thank you for my, I, I, I, I, I, I go.
01:57Thank you for helping, thank you to interview me.
02:00I like Spider-Man.
02:01What's really cool about getting to see how it's made is that you're seeing the explosions happen
02:08and cars attached to machines, Spider-Man is attached to a crane.
02:12But obviously when the actual film comes out, the cars are going to be flipping back and forth
02:18because they're not necessarily doing that here.
02:20You're not going to see the wires that he's attached to, you're not going to see the cranes.
02:23How it's going to get from all this extra stuff to taking them out in the actual film
02:30is going to be really interesting to see.
02:33I don't know how they do it, it's like magic.
02:35Everyone is in such good spirits, everyone's so excited.
02:39This is going to be historic for so many people.
02:41There's loads of kids coming about that will take an interest in Spider-Man now.
02:45It'd be really cool for them when the film comes out and they would have been able to see it actually being filmed.
02:49It's going to spike so much interest in the city for film and for superheroes, which is really cool.
02:57There's always someone in this town, Spider-Man.
