00:04defended his government's decision to expand a military offensive in Gaza

00:08despite international condemnation of the plans.

00:12Israel said on Friday it plans to take over Gaza City in another

00:16escalation of the war. Netanyahu asserted that the goal

00:20was to demilitarize Gaza and to insert a non-Israeli transitional

00:24authority there after the war ends. Our goal is not to occupy

00:28Gaza. Our goal is to free Gaza, free it from Hamas

00:32terrorists. The war can end tomorrow if

00:36Gaza, or rather if Hamas lays down its arms and releases

00:40all the remaining hostages. Netanyahu's government is facing increasing

00:44pressure from its allies, U.N. aid groups and protestors in Israel to end

00:48the war. They say another major ground operation would almost certainly

00:52exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza while also putting

00:56the lives of the remaining hostages at risk. Netanyahu said

01:00Israel would put in place a three-step plan to ensure more aid enters Gaza,

01:04including increased distribution points, safe corridors and aid drops.
