00:00This is the body of a man who mysteriously disappeared back in June 1997.
00:04Now, almost three decades later, his remarkably preserved body with clothes completely undamaged
00:08was found near the Lady Meadows Glacier in Pakistan's remote mountainous Kohistan region.
00:12An intact ID card revealed his name, Nasiruddin, a father of two from the Saleh Khele tribe.
00:17Here's what happened.
00:18In June 1997, he was travelling on horseback with his brother, Kassiruddin,
00:21through the Suppat Valley to escape threats after a violent family dispute, said the police.
00:25Reportedly, during a heavy snowstorm, he took shelter in a cave and never returned.
00:29Police believe he fell into a glacier crevice,
00:32where extreme cold and low oxygen naturally mummified his body, halting decay for 28 years.
00:37On 31st July 2025, climate change caused accelerated glacier melt,
00:41finally exposing the body, as per a BBC report.
00:43Local shepherd Omar Khan made the discovery, astonished to see the clothes still intact.
