00:00Look at the position that is in the limelight.

00:06If you have appetite for opening studies, just look at early stage.

00:11There's always room, especially at the club level.

00:15It will be more difficult, of course, to make real improvement at 25, 26, 2700.

00:22Though the moves that I mentioned, H3 and H4, are played by very strong players.

00:25H3 by Karekin, for instance, the H4 also by 2700-plus players.

00:32And my recommendation would be that you make an assessment,

00:41a genuine assessment of your expectations from the openings.

00:47Maybe you believe that you'll be comfortable by playing some sharp,

00:53though semi-correct openings.

00:55I can, let's be honest, King's Gambit, semi-correct openings.

01:00But it still can work if your opponent is not ready,

01:03because at the end of the day, it's not about objective value of the position only,

01:08but it's also about your ability to surprise your opponent.

01:12Sometimes surprising your opponent works well.

01:15And I still feel that there's plenty of room for improvements.

01:22Not necessarily for doing Fisher's 960, just reshuffling the pieces.

01:26But even with our classical, old-fashioned position, there's still plenty of room.

01:31But it will be your choice.

01:34I believe that now it's for you to make all this work,

01:37because unlike us, 30, 40 years ago,

01:42you have almost unlimited opportunities to study these openings

01:46and to have a tree in one minute.

01:53That's one minute, I'm old-fashioned.

01:54It takes time for me.

01:56I'm sure for young players it takes 10 seconds to have a tree

01:58with all the kids.
