00:00Listen to the will of those who will not speak, and if the tools are not willing, they will be.
00:16Hi, I'm Grzegorz Likę. I'm the lead writer and the lead narrative designer in Chronos the New Dawn.
00:23And my name is Klaela Savera, producer on Chronos the New Dawn.
00:25Today we're going to be talking a little bit more about our story, while also answering some pressing fan questions.
00:35So, Chronos is set in an alternative universe, that in the 80s a weird disease started to appear.
00:43A disease we called the change.
00:46And that's how, sadly, humanity came to an end.
00:48Travellers are emissaries of the mysterious collective.
00:55They travel back in time, to the moment of the end of the world.
01:00They seek their targets, very important people that are needed by the collective.
01:06Time point in sight.
01:09And they extract their essences.
01:12Is it painful?
01:13I think it's painful.
01:15With every single, I think, weird procedure along those lines, you will expect it to be painful.
01:21And because we're taking away souls of human beings, don't expect it to be a nice thing.
01:28Well, they scream a lot.
01:29You'll be able to, throughout the course of your game, pick who you choose to extract.
01:42And if you're coming to the game from more of a gameplay perspective, it's the main perks of those
01:49essences that might interest you.
01:50However, if you're coming to the story to, you know, get more of the actual insides and nitty-gritties of the story,
01:59you might focus on the characters who you meet.
02:02Target. Seated. Edward Byshnevsky.
02:07Which characters you choose to extract will actually affect, well, not only the gameplay,
02:13but also how you perceive the whole game.
02:20His name is the Warden, and his role given by the collective is to maintain not only the tools
02:28used by the travelers in their missions, but also the main hub in which you will spend a lot of time as a player.
02:38You will have a lot of interactions with this guy.
02:41You will see that, well, he's got a little bit of a different approach than the protagonist.
02:48Don't you think it's all trivial?
02:54In perspective of perpetuity, what isn't but a trivial thing?
03:03At Bloober Team, we still love to tell stories about people, about real people, about relationships
03:11between those people. You will meet a lot of characters in this game.
03:18Some of them you will love, and some of them you will, well...
03:22Maybe love.
03:24Love less.
03:25Love less.
03:27Also in Kronos, I think it's important to mention that a lot of the characters you will meet
03:32are in some way or another connected when it comes to their story.
03:40I think it's cool that the player and the traveler are sort of on the same level when it
03:45comes to really discovering the story at the same time. So these interactions with these characters
03:51are definitely meaningful because the more you dive in, the more you learn.
04:02The main differences between Nowa Huta and New Dawn are there isn't any floating buildings.
04:07In Nowa Huta.
04:08Yeah, there isn't roaming monsters.
04:10Yet.
04:11Kind of.
04:12And the streets are undestroyed.
04:14However, we try to stick to the ideal image of Nowa Huta as much as possible,
04:20but not only in the aesthetic, but also care about the historical importance and meaning of it.
04:26Also, obviously in the game we added some new buildings and new places for you to explore as a
04:31player. So the building, the big building you see floating around in our trailers,
04:35we built it and then we destroyed it again.
04:38I was born and raised in Nowa Huta. So this project feels very personal. But we chose Nowa Huta
04:45because of the history the place has. That history rhymes very well with the questions we ask in the
04:53game and the themes we tackle throughout the story. And Ascronas doesn't have the ambition to be a
05:00historical game. Well, the level of reproduction of things is super cool.
05:08The level of reproduction of things is super cool.
05:13Well, only I know that and I can tell.
05:17His watch is broken.
05:23As far as we know, we don't know.
05:26Well, it is a time travel story.
05:32Duh.
05:37Why nobody ever asks about dogs?
05:40We're hamsters.
05:53We're hamsters.
05:55We're hamsters.
05:56You, man.
06:06You, man.
06:06Yeah,
06:07you, man.
06:12You
06:13You
06:15you
06:17you
