State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott was asked about Israel's plans to occupy Gaza and any US involvement beyond the GHF.
Transcript
00:00Yeah, and if I can ask you on the other front, will the United States will be involved
00:07on the Gaza and Israeli situation beside the Humanitarian Foundation?
00:14Are there in place any other plan to try to bring this war to an end beside diplomacy?
00:20Well, so I'm not going to preview what decision the president may make.
00:23I already described how he was briefed following the trip, Special Employee Wyckoff and Ambassador Huckabee.
00:28There's been several different options that have been discussed.
00:31The main driver here is creative solutions.
00:32We want to see creative solutions, and we want to see a mechanism in place that delivers aid to the people of Gaza
00:38without it being looted by Hamas, without seeing aid diversion.
00:41That is the primary goal that we're having here.
00:43That's what we want to see.
00:44And we've been calling for creative solutions in order to get to that end.
00:47We've supported the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation because that mechanism,
00:50it is a mechanism in which that has been allowed to happen.
00:52110 million meals that have been delivered to the people of Gaza
00:56without it being diverted or looted, stolen by Hamas.
01:00So we're continuing to call for creative solutions.
01:02We want to see more people involved.
01:04We want to see partnerships, but based under a mechanism
01:06that allows aid to reach the people that need it.
