AFL football great Tom Hawkins at Mallee Machinery Field Days

The former AFL star says it's been inspiring to see the next generation of kids at the event.

00:00I love seeing the next generation of kids coming through.

00:03It reminds me of myself when I was their age.

00:06So it has been wonderful to see.

00:08And today it doesn't happen by chance.

00:10There's a lot of people that have done a mountain of work,

00:13which you can all appreciate,

00:16over the last couple of months,

00:17the last couple of days leading in,

00:19today, tomorrow, and then the pack-up.

00:21So I'd like everyone just to give all the volunteers

00:26and the Lions Club just a big round of applause

00:28for the event.
