05:20There's a lot of question marks, and probably the biggest one—hell, we talked about it most of the show yesterday—
05:24was Christian McCaffrey.
05:26The medical for that guy is—what are you laughing at?
05:29Well, no, you're asking, like, what am I most—okay.
05:32I'm not pretending like I'm some high-level player or coach.
05:35That's not—practice is not just practice.
05:38I think there's this sentiment, just in general, about practice.
05:42These—whether at any level we're talking about, to me, these are preparations for the game.
05:48That's how I view it through a coach's eye, through a player's eye.
05:52And I think as I've gotten older, my perspective on practice has changed dramatically.
05:57NFL, more than any other sport, you practice six, seven times to the one game that you play.
06:03Five times to the one game that you play once the regular season starts.
06:06And so, practice is the most important in this sport because you cannot go and just shoot hoops like you can
06:14and work with your trainer individually.
06:16In the NFL, the only way to simulate actual football is putting pads on and going 11-on-11.
06:23It's really difficult to just have, you know, individual cone drills or whatever, or you work with your quarterback.
06:29And, yeah, you can work on the timing, and you can work on all that.
06:31But the whole choreography of 11-on-11 requires unbelievable focus for the hour and a half
06:38or however long they're out on that field today because it'll vary depending on how many periods they end up doing.
06:44You can only simulate real NFL football being on that field.
06:49And I love the intensity of all the assistant coaches that are going to be on the field,
06:54all of the ball boys and guys that are kind of like, not necessarily that they're interning,
06:58but they're on the low level, right?
07:00And I'm thinking, who's that guy?
07:02He might be someone someday.
07:04That might be the next Mike or Kyle Shanahan.
07:06Well, the Mike McDaniels of the world, right?
07:07Exactly.
07:08Like, that was the guy who was literally a ball boy for the Denver Broncos,
07:11had a relationship with Kyle Shanahan back when they were both young in Denver,
07:14when his dad, Mike, obviously, was coaching there.
07:16Should be in the Hall of Fame, by the way, won Mike Shanahan, but he's not.
07:18But that, exactly, it starts there.
07:20You think of guys in the NBA and Eric Spolstra of the world.
07:23Yes, cutting film.

07:25And then now he's one of the best coaches in the history of the league.
07:27And so, like, for me, there's this whole, like, pomp and circumstance of you get onto the field,
07:32you look around, and just seeing people that are at the top of their craft doing it.
07:37And I'm not just talking about the coaches.
07:38Now I get to the players.
07:40Walking out and just seeing Bosa and standing 20 feet away from him,
07:44you realize, oh, my God, this guy's been lifting weights since he was four years old.

08:27And so when you see Bosa, you're like, oh, my God, G.I. Joe figures don't have the abs that this guy has.
08:33It's the defensive and offensive linemen.
08:36When you get up close with these guys, you truly marvel at them.
08:40It's, like, it's, no, it's incredible.

08:42And then you see certain quarterbacks in the league,
08:45and the shapes and sizes of them can vary left to right.
08:48Hell, you're going to look at Brock Purdy,
08:51and he might be an inch or two taller than you or I, Joe.
08:54He might be the same height.
08:55Who knows on the field of cleats without cleats.
08:57And then you've got a guy like a Josh Allen,
08:59who's just as big as some of these defensive linemen you're seeing.
09:03But that's the great part about the NFL, man.
09:05Like, you have Drew Brees is of the world.
09:07You have Tom Brady's of the world.
09:09Or you can have a Cam Newton, Josh Allen, a Patrick Malms, Lamar Jackson, all these guys.
09:13And I can't wait to see some of these guys.

09:22but I'm very curious to see how he's going to look,
