The Argentine government suffers another setback in the Chamber of Deputies following the approval of university funding and the rescue plan for the Garrahan pediatric hospital. The initiative was approved by a large majority, with 159 votes in favor, 67 against, and 4 abstentions. Meanwhile, the opposition secured a vote that could challenge President Javier Milei’s repeated vetoes. Now, the project to improve the university budget, drafted by the institutions themselves, will move to the Senate, where it must be approved, along with the rescue plan for the Garrahan Hospital, in order to become law.
