00:17The city's stay remains robust unofficial ties with Taiwan, while maintaining good relations

00:28sides remain strong and steady.
00:30Last year, Taiwan is Singapore's fourth-largest trading partner, and Singapore was Taiwan's
00:38sixth-largest trading partner.
00:40Even last year's global economy has not been very well, but our trade, particularly our exports
00:48to Singapore, has been increased by 13.5%.
00:55Singapore has been known for finding a strategic balance between the U.S. and China.
00:59But experts warn that a shift in the global trading system is happening because the U.S.
01:04is reshaping how it engages with the rest of the world.
01:07The U.S. is fundamentally changing its economic relationship with the entire world.
01:11It's not just about China or Taiwan or even Asia.
01:14It's the whole world.
01:16They're rejecting existing international norms.
01:19They're rejecting multilateral arrangements focused on reciprocal, bilateral agreements
01:26based on reciprocity.
01:28There's no longer a distinction between developing economies and developed economies.
01:34Despite ongoing global uncertainties, Singapore is looking to expand this year's National Day
01:38celebrations from the historic Padan to the Marina Bay Area to mark its Diamond Jubilee.
