00:00:00Watching Atlanta's number one morning show with Colin Moore and Cindy Shepard.
00:00:04Welcome back to Wake Up With Atlanta.
00:00:06This morning we have been chatting about exciting holiday events happening all over the city.
00:00:10We sure have.
00:00:11Now, we've been experiencing colder weather here in the metro area.
00:00:16So it's time to turn up the temperature on your holiday cheer
00:00:19because we are only two weeks away from that event that we've all been waiting for.
00:00:24That's right, folks. We are counting down to the Festival of Trees.
00:00:30Even better, the money raised from this year's tree auction benefits our very own Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
00:00:38That's fantastic, isn't it, folks?
00:00:40I mean, it just makes the festival that much more beneficial.
00:00:44Now, you know, some of the city's top designers have actually been discovered through their beautiful creations,
00:00:50like Kendrick and Cole, and even with all the festive cheer, there can be some pretty fierce competition.
00:00:56Well, we have the privilege of having one of those designers here in studio with us today.
00:01:02And this designer is no stranger to the Southeast design scene.
00:01:07We have with us today, folks, the talented, incredible Alice Stewart.
00:01:15Oh!
00:01:17Hello!
00:01:19Alice Stewart, wow!
00:01:21I mean...
00:01:22Welcome to the show.
00:01:23We are such huge fans.
00:01:26And I'm very happy to be here.
00:01:28Well, it's no secret that you have dominated this festival.
00:01:32You've won the coveted grand prize an incredible eight times.
00:01:36And you really are amazing.
00:01:38Well, I find the holidays very inspiring.
00:01:43You know, the essence of the holiday spirit invokes such creativity.
00:01:51I speak for both of us.
00:01:53We cannot wait to see what you're going to dazzle us with this year.
00:01:57Oh, now, Colin, you know I can't divulge any details of the design.
00:02:03Oh, darn it!
00:02:05Oh, no!
00:02:06We're going to get it out of you.
00:02:08Well, I will say that if you're one of the up-and-coming designers hoping to take part
00:02:13this year, then this astounding lady right here is the one to beat.
00:02:17What happened at 945?
00:02:20Sorry.
00:02:21Holiday traffic.
00:02:22Hey, you're two blocks away.
00:02:24Coffee.
00:02:25Oh, you have no idea how much I love you right now.
00:02:28Oh, it's cold.
00:02:30I know how it feels.
00:02:31I said I was sorry.
00:02:32Okay.
00:02:33Apology accepted.
00:02:33Apology accepted.
00:02:34Um, checklist.
00:02:35Portfolio.
00:02:36Check.
00:02:36Design sketch.
00:02:37Double check.
00:02:37Okay, that's it.
00:02:38How are we for time?
00:02:39Five minutes.
00:02:40All right, what are we standing here in the cold for?
00:02:52Hi.
00:02:53Uh, Jacqueline Miller here to see Mr. Lowry.
00:02:56Miller.
00:02:57Miller.
00:02:58There you are.
00:02:59Um, if you'd like to have a seat, Mr. Lowry will be with you in a few minutes.
00:03:02Okay.
00:03:07Okay.
00:03:09Remember, you're young.
00:03:10You're hungry.
00:03:11What you lack in experience, you make up for tenfold in enthusiasm and raw talent.
00:03:16With your eye for vintage design and Mr. Lowry's corporate sponsorship, you will be unstoppable.
00:03:23Also, I have been thinking of moving to Dublin to teach Irish dancing with Vano.
00:03:34Jackie!
00:03:34Yeah.
00:03:35Yeah.
00:03:36Sorry.
00:03:36Sorry.
00:03:36Just...
00:03:37Sorry.
00:03:38Have you seen the style of this office?
00:03:43I mean, if this is his taste...
00:03:44Oh, my God.
00:03:45It's like Wayne Newton and Hugh Hefner threw up in here.
00:03:50Yeah.
00:03:52You are not here to decorate his office.
00:03:54Yes.
00:03:54You are looking for a Christmas tree sponsor.
00:03:57This is just a PR thing for him.
00:04:00Not that he couldn't use the help otherwise.
00:04:03Miss Miller?
00:04:04Mr. Lowry will see you now.
00:04:06Okay, I'll just...
00:04:07Right.
00:04:08Show my son.
00:04:09Okay.
00:04:09Go get him.
00:04:09I'll just be here singing Don Cachet until you're done.
00:04:12Miss Miller, what a pleasure to meet you.
00:04:32Mr. Lowry, hi.
00:04:33Please, call me John.
00:04:36My father was Mr. Lowry.
00:04:39Oh, I'll...
00:04:46Just one sec.
00:04:55Okay.
00:04:58Just gonna...
00:05:00Just there.
00:05:01Just...
00:05:02Very...
00:05:06Very big chairs.
00:05:07So, the Festival of Trees.
00:05:13Yes.
00:05:14Such a wonderful event, isn't it?
00:05:16It is.
00:05:17I've been attending every year since I was a kid.
00:05:19And your agency is looking for corporate sponsorship, am I right?
00:05:23We are.
00:05:23We're a very small agency, but we have great style and we work hard.
00:05:27I have built this agency from the ground up, and as I'm sure you saw when looking into us,
00:05:32we have only five-star reviews.
00:05:34So I've heard.
00:05:35Yeah, I think that our unique approach to design, coupled with the fact that we are up and coming
00:05:42and hardworking, makes us a really great fit for Lowry and Low.
00:05:47Please continue, Ms. Miller.
00:05:50Okay, well, I think the best thing for me to do is to let my work speak for itself.
00:05:55And I will show you our design concept for the festival.
00:06:03So the theme of this year's Festival of Trees is a very vintage Christmas.
00:06:10Very elegant.
00:06:11Thank you, Mr. Lowry.
00:06:12It is, I'm not gonna lie, a very expensive statement.
00:06:16I took my inspiration from the king of couture himself, Louis XIV.
00:06:20Mm-hmm.
00:06:22I think that the concept of classical elegance, it's really in keeping with the whole image
00:06:29of Lowry and Low.
00:06:30Hmm.
00:06:31I like how you say classical elegance rather than old.
00:06:41I must say I'm impressed with your work.
00:06:45You have a bright future ahead of you of that, I am sure.
00:06:49Thank you, Mr. Lowry.
00:06:50That is, that's very kind of you to say.
00:06:51And if it were solely my decision, I would grant you our sponsorship right now.
00:06:57However, I have others who like to sign off on these sorts of things, publicists and whatnot.
00:07:04Of course.
00:07:05No, that's understandable.
00:07:08If there's anything else that I can do to help you make a decision, then just please let me know.
00:07:13Well, actually, if you could leave this with me,
00:07:17I think it would go a long way toward helping them make their decision.
00:07:21Of course.
00:07:23No problem.
00:07:25Splendid.
00:07:27Thank you, Ms. Miller.
00:07:30Yes, thank you.
00:07:32Someone from our office will be in touch.
00:07:34Okay, thank you.
00:07:36Okay.
00:07:44Okay, how did it go?
00:07:46I think it went well.
00:07:47Okay, you think it went well or you know it went well.
00:07:49I mean, I'm not sure.
00:07:49Oh, well, that sounds like my dating life.
00:07:52Well, maybe it's because of your sparkling personality.
00:07:55Okay, it takes a special man to handle a confident woman.
00:07:58My point is, you need to put that positive energy out there.
00:08:01So let's try again.
00:08:02How did it go?
00:08:04It went great.
00:08:07Are you sure?
00:08:09I don't want you to get your hopes up.
00:08:10You're impossible.
00:08:11You are impossible.
00:08:12Well, no, I do.
00:08:14I actually do think it went well.
00:08:15I mean, he liked my design at least.
00:08:17Okay.
00:08:17All right.
00:08:18Yeah, that's awesome.
00:08:19What's on the schedule for the rest of the day?
00:08:20Okay.
00:08:21Well, obviously, there's the festival committee meeting tonight at 6.
00:08:24Otherwise, you are reviewing tile and countertop samples for the Sweet Peach Cafe at 1230.
00:08:31Okay.
00:08:32At 1, I'm eating a slice of cheesecake from the cafe.
00:08:35And that is, and that's followed by, ooh, a 330 colorboard presentation for none other than Jim Price.
00:08:44Mr. Price.
00:08:45Fantastic.
00:08:46That's today.

00:13:16Hi, these seats are reserved.
00:13:19There's some seats in the back next to the restrooms.
00:13:21If you want those.
00:13:22So your name gets printed on a sheet of paper and that gives you authority.
00:13:27It's laminated.
00:13:29And?
00:13:30And you're still sitting here.
00:13:32Alice, it's nice to see you again.
00:13:36It's Jacqueline, right?
00:13:38Yeah, it's been Jacqueline all ten years we've known each other.
00:13:42Oh, well, nice to see you.
00:13:45Oh.
00:13:45Are you still interning at the academy?
00:13:53No.
00:13:54No, that was eight years ago.
00:13:56Eight years?
00:13:58Well, you don't say.
00:14:01Where does the time go?
00:14:03Well, we saw each other not that long ago at the Touch of Class gala, remember?
00:14:06Oh, I go to a lot of galas.
00:14:09Slip on this floor.
00:14:10Why do you need to reserve an entire row?
00:14:13Alice Stewart does not need to explain herself to you.
00:14:15Oh, she doesn't?
00:14:16No.
00:14:16You know what?
00:14:17We'll move.
00:14:18Oh, there's three of them.
00:14:18Just move.
00:14:19You should listen to your friend.
00:14:21Just, okay, Boris and Natasha.
00:14:23God, she's amazing.
00:14:25I heard she gets inspiration by spending entire days in meditative isolation.
00:14:30Have you seen the new lobby that she did for the St. Everly Hotel?
00:14:34Let's go.
00:14:34They're saying that it's better than anything else in the city.
00:14:37Oh, pick that up, don't you?
00:14:38I just dropped.
00:14:38Did you turn where I said hello?
00:14:39No, no, no.
00:14:40There's no time for that.
00:14:41We're talking deals.
00:14:51Sorry.
00:14:53Perfect.
00:14:57Look at her up there.
00:14:58And she is so much better than everyone.
00:15:02Yeah.
00:15:02Of course she needs the front row.
00:15:04It's the only thing that fits her massive ego.
00:15:08I should have said that.
00:15:09It's good.
00:15:10It is.
00:15:11Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
00:15:18Okay, Marina.
00:15:20Don't let me call you back.
00:15:21I want to thank all of you for participating in this year's Festival of Trees.
00:15:28I believe that this year will be the best one yet.
00:15:35Yay.
00:15:36Oh, jeez, no.
00:15:37Before we go any further, designers, you have until midnight tomorrow to submit your concept
00:15:47for approval.
00:15:48Once the exhibition hall opens, you will have six hours to complete your visions before the
00:15:56judging begins.
00:15:57The trees will then remain on display for the enjoyment of our community, leading up to our
00:16:04Festival of Trees Gala, where we will have our silent auction to benefit children's health
00:16:11care of Atlanta, as well as our award ceremony.
00:16:18This is your chance to show our community what you are capable of.
00:16:27Be creative.
00:16:29Be flamboyant.
00:16:30Be fabulous.
00:16:32Make a statement.
00:16:33Tell a story.
00:16:33But above all else, our goal is to capture the true spirit of the Christmas season.
00:16:40To help our community, to inspire others, to give back through this amazing event.
00:16:48I want to thank you all again for participating in this year's Festival of Trees, and good luck!
00:17:04Can I get in there?
00:17:31Phoebe, right?
00:17:33Hi.
00:17:33You shopping for the festival?
00:17:35Obviously.
00:17:37What are you doing here?
00:17:39Uh, same thing as you.
00:17:41Oh, wait.
00:17:43You actually shop for your own materials?
00:17:45How adorable!
00:17:48Where's your little helper girl?
00:17:51Um, well, my assistant, Heather, is doing other things that we needed to get done this morning.
00:17:57Oh, well, I don't blame you.
00:17:58From the looks of her, I wouldn't trust that girl with my breakfast order.
00:18:01Okay, well, good to see you.
00:18:05I'm gonna get back to it.
00:18:07Oh, so you've heard back from the committee, then?
00:18:12Uh, no, but I'm expecting a call from them any second.
00:18:15Oh, really?
00:18:16Why, have you heard already?
00:18:18Oh, well, we got confirmation immediately after we did our submission.
00:18:22You know, the chairman actually called Ms. Stewart directly.
00:18:26But, you know, they have a very close relationship.
00:18:31Yes, of course.
00:18:32No, I'm sure you'll get, like, an email or something soon.
00:18:37So you've locked down a sponsor, then?
00:18:38Yes, we did.
00:18:42We have a sponsor.
00:18:44It's what Worcester working on a couple of details, but, uh, it's basically a done deal.
00:18:48So the answer is yes.
00:18:51Well, I will tell you ours if you tell me yours.
00:18:54I don't feel like I should be talking about it just yet, so.
00:19:01Party pooper.
00:19:02I mean, you haven't even heard back from the committee.
00:19:04I just, I don't understand how you're staying so calm.
00:19:06Well, you know what? I'm feeling really good about it.
00:19:07So, thanks. Bye.
00:19:09Good for you.
00:19:10Chin up.
00:19:11Well, you know what? I gotta get back to it.
00:19:13Okay.
00:19:14Lowry and Lowe are expecting an update from Alex.
00:19:17Sorry, what did you say?
00:19:18You said something about...
00:19:19Oops!
00:19:24I guess the cat's out of the bag.
00:19:26John Lowry is our festival sponsor.
00:19:29He's very eager to have Alice Stewart representing him, as you can imagine.
00:19:35Well, I must dash.
00:19:38Good luck.
00:19:49Hi. Excuse me.
00:19:59Um, you clearly know what you're doing, and I am woefully out of my depths in here.
00:20:04I was just wondering, could you maybe help me find an ornament?
00:20:08I need to find something special.
00:20:09Let me stop you right there.
00:20:11Hey, I am a professional designer.
00:20:14I do this for a living.
00:20:16Okay, so my time is valuable.
00:20:18You know what? Here.
00:20:20You can have the whole basket, because I'm sure there's something in there that would
00:20:23look great on the tree of a construction worker.
00:20:32Somebody's having a bad day.
00:20:34Okay, then.
00:20:37Actually.
00:20:39Excuse me.
00:20:39Excuse me, miss.
00:20:40How much is this little guy?
00:20:42I'm going to slay.
00:20:44We can jingle, baby, all the way.
00:20:48Hey, boss lady.
00:20:51You didn't have anything at Seasonal Designs?
00:20:54Lowry's out.
00:20:56Out? What do you mean, out?
00:20:58I mean, it's not happening.
00:21:01But he loved you.
00:21:03That's what I thought.
00:21:05Well, do we know for sure?
00:21:08We can do another sketch or change his mind somehow.
00:21:11What did he say?
00:21:12He didn't say anything.
00:21:15Well, then don't be so negative.
00:21:17I'm sure he'll call soon.
00:21:18He seemed really on board with sponsoring a tree this year.
00:21:21Oh, he's sponsoring a tree.
00:21:22Well, who's...
00:21:25No.
00:21:29How do you know?
00:21:31Because I ran into Phoebe.
00:21:34Are you sure she wasn't just saying that to get a rise out of you?
00:21:37Yes, she didn't even know that I was interviewing with him.
00:21:41She just...
00:21:41She let it slip and...
00:21:43Well, this blows.
00:21:47Shoot!
00:21:49Everything is a mess.
00:21:51Everything.
00:21:52Lots of folks do the festival without a sponsor.
00:21:55They don't win.
00:21:56Okay, well, how about Morton and Miller?
00:21:58They've sponsored before.
00:22:00Taken.
00:22:00Apotheos Roastery?
00:22:02Taken.
00:22:02The Peaceful Plumber?
00:22:04You gotta admit, Toilets and Tinsel has a ring to it.
00:22:08Have we heard from the committee?
00:22:12I'm sorry.
00:22:13I actually have no idea what you just said.
00:22:15Can we lose the pillow, please?
00:22:18Have we heard from the committee?
00:22:21Not yet.
00:22:23But they said we may not hear until end of day.
00:22:31Come here.
00:22:32Come here.
00:22:33What do we do now?
00:22:37We get coffee.
00:22:39The fumes in here are making me dizzy, and not in a good way.
00:22:42Yeah.
00:22:44We can go to the Lazy Labrador.
00:22:46They have a new holiday flavor!
00:22:48Coconut praline?
00:22:49Something like that?
00:22:52Come on.
00:22:53I will even buy you a muffin.
00:22:58White chocolate raspberry?
00:22:59Okay.
00:22:59Okay.
00:23:09Okay.
00:23:11This was maybe a mistake.
00:23:13Okay.
00:23:15One raspberry muffin.
00:23:16And look at these two snow-cachinos.
00:23:22Snow-cachinos?
00:23:24Okay.
00:23:25Mrs. Grinch, just eat your muffin.
00:23:27Have you refreshed your emails?
00:23:30Is there anything from the committee?
00:23:31Twice since we sat down.
00:23:32Okay, relax.
00:23:33The committee's calling.
00:23:37Should they be calling?
00:23:38I don't think they're supposed to call.
00:23:41Someone's got to answer it.
00:23:42Answer it.
00:23:43Answer me on the phone.
00:23:44Shh.
00:23:47Hello, Jacqueline Miller Designs.
00:23:49This is Frances Appleton, committee chair for the Festival of Trees.
00:23:53Is Ms. Miller available?
00:23:57Oh, yes.
00:23:58One moment, please.
00:23:59What are you doing?
00:23:59What are you doing?
00:24:01I don't know.
00:24:01She wants you.
00:24:03How did she sound?
00:24:05Like a committee chairman.
00:24:06Okay, good.
00:24:11This is Jacqueline Miller.
00:24:13Mrs. Miller, I do wish I were calling with better news, but unfortunately, your design has been rejected by the committee.
00:24:21Rejected?
00:24:24Um, why?
00:24:26Did I not fill out the forms correctly?
00:24:28I mean, we're still pursuing corporate sponsorship.
00:24:30We haven't...
00:24:30No, no.
00:24:31Corporate sponsorship is optional.
00:24:33No, I'm afraid your submission was rejected due to plagiarism.
00:24:38Plagiarism?
00:24:39What?
00:24:41No, you must be kidding.
00:24:42I wish I was.
00:24:43I don't understand.
00:24:44That's not possible.
00:24:45Your concept is nearly identical to another designer's submission.
00:24:49And since they made their submission before you...
00:24:52We have no choice but to accept that their design is the original.
00:24:56Okay, but I spent months on this design concept.
00:24:59I mean, you can't possibly think I stole it from someone else.
00:25:02What?
00:25:03Well, perhaps plagiarism is not the right term, Miss Miller.
00:25:08But however you choose to look at it, we simply cannot have two nearly identical designs in this festival.
00:25:14Now, if you choose to submit a new concept by midnight, the committee has ample time to review and accept your submission.
00:25:25By midnight?
00:25:26That's not enough time.
00:25:28I suppose I could extend the deadline to noon tomorrow.
00:25:34Oh, uh, noon tomorrow.
00:25:36That's...
00:25:36That's still not enough time.
00:25:39Oh, we hope you choose to participate in our festival.
00:25:42I'll keep an eye out for your new submission.
00:25:46Thank you, ma'am.
00:25:47A whole new design concept in 24 hours.
00:25:56We can do that.
00:25:59We can do it.
00:26:00We don't even have a sponsor.
00:26:02Like, how are we gonna do this without any new income?
00:26:04No, no.
00:26:05We can do this.
00:26:06A very vintage Christmas.
00:26:08What else signifies vintage?
00:26:10You have clothes.
00:26:11You have cars.
00:26:13Handbags.
00:26:13You have, uh...
00:26:15Old people.
00:26:18Hmm.
00:26:19Oh, I just wanted to make a statement.
00:26:21You know what's more vintage than anything?
00:26:23What?
00:26:24Dinosaurs.
00:26:26No.
00:26:27A dinosaur tree would make a statement.
00:26:28We could even have little cutouts of Chris Pratt.
00:26:30He's hot.
00:26:31Okay, no more coffee for you.
00:26:36Okay.
00:26:37Give me a minute.
00:26:38Let's just...
00:26:39Look up the definition of vintage.
00:26:45Oh, okay.
00:26:46Vintage.
00:26:47A season's yield of wine from a vineyard.
00:26:50Or, alternatively, the oldness of wines.
00:26:54We are clearly working off of the wrong beverage here.
00:26:56Okay, let's zoom out.
00:26:59A festival of trees.
00:27:02It's a festival event with trees.
00:27:06It is.
00:27:07That's good.
00:27:07Vintage.
00:27:10Vintage, vintage.
00:27:11A very vintage Christmas.
00:27:13Vintage is old, valuable, meaningful, glamorous, antique, fashionable, elegant.
00:27:21Louis XIV Couture.
00:27:23Why do I always go there?
00:27:23Ugh.
00:27:24Okay, I have nothing.
00:27:26Okay.
00:27:27Uh, well, what about the hospital charity?
00:27:30Is there anything you can do with that?
00:27:31No.
00:27:32There's nothing less elegant and fashionable than a hospital.
00:27:35No, maybe if we dig deeper into European royalty, there's got to be something there.
00:27:43What?
00:28:05One idea.
00:28:18One atom to explode into life.
00:28:21I have seen you work.
00:28:22You can do this.
00:28:23Come on, buddy.
00:28:23Sit.
00:28:25Look.
00:28:26Okay.
00:28:30Well, look what we have here.
00:28:33A professional designer coming to our little lot.
00:28:36To what do I owe the honor?
00:28:37Uh, we're just looking.
00:28:40Do you two know each other?
00:28:42No.
00:28:42Not exactly.
00:28:43But I did find a really nice ornament this morning in case you were worried about me.
00:28:49I'm Heather.
00:28:50Brandon.
00:28:51It's nice to meet you.
00:28:52And I don't believe we were formally introduced.
00:28:54Hi.
00:28:54I'm Jacqueline Miller.
00:28:55Hi.
00:28:56And I'm sorry.
00:28:57This morning I was...
00:28:59I'm sorry.
00:29:00No worries.
00:29:01No worries.
00:29:02I may not be as good as an artist as you, but I do have a pretty good eye for Christmas trees.
00:29:07What can I help you girls with?
00:29:09We're looking for some inspiration.
00:29:11For a tree?
00:29:12For the Festival of Trees.
00:29:14Oh, that's actually a pretty big deal.
00:29:16What's your theme?
00:29:18Well, up until earlier today, it was the extravagance and opulence of Louis XIV.
00:29:24Why are you smiling?
00:29:26You think that's funny?
00:29:28Oh, you were serious.
00:29:29Sorry.
00:29:30I just...I didn't really understand a word you just said.
00:29:32Okay.
00:29:33Well, that's insulting.
00:29:34Goodbye.
00:29:34I'm kidding.
00:29:35Come on.
00:29:36Stay here.
00:29:36Hold on.
00:29:37Look, I didn't mean to insult you.
00:29:39It's just all that fancy, fancy stuff might go down well in your world, but I can promise
00:29:43you to every hardworking family buying their trees on this lot, it just doesn't mean anything
00:29:49to them.
00:29:50Not really what Christmas is all about.
00:29:52Okay.
00:29:53Well, why don't you tell me what is your perfect Christmas tree?
00:30:00Well, the perfect Christmas tree is not made.
00:30:07It's born.
00:30:08Look at this family right over here.
00:30:11They're here making memories.
00:30:13They're not looking for elegance.
00:30:16It's not about some overdressed, commercialized idea of the holiday.
00:30:20It's about that right there.
00:30:23Families coming together, looking for a tree to make part of their family, help tell their
00:30:26story.
00:30:29I remember when I was a kid, we went all out finding a tree.
00:30:32Now, that was the big event of the season.
00:30:34We'd have Santa hats and hot chocolate and looking for that perfect tree to bring home.
00:30:40Man, we had so much fun.
00:30:43My mom, she would bust out this old box from the attic.
00:30:46It was filled with these horrible, ugly-looking handmade ornaments.
00:30:50But I don't know.
00:30:52Somehow, it just didn't matter because when we put them up on the tree, they looked like
00:30:57a work of art.
00:31:02I guess I'm just saying, Christmas trees are not about the decorations you put on.
00:31:06They, well, they're about the people that put them there.
00:31:17Okay.
00:31:18Well, that was a really lovely story.
00:31:20Thanks for sharing that.
00:31:22We do actually have a design deadline, so we're going to get back.
00:31:25But we, we so appreciate your childlike wonder.
00:31:32Okay, let's go.
00:31:34Uh, I'll see you guys.
00:31:42Okay.
00:31:48Vintage.
00:31:49Vintage.
00:31:50What is vintage?
00:31:52Vintage is, uh, vintage is, uh, antique.
00:31:57Antique.
00:31:58Uh, vintage is classic.
00:32:01Classic.
00:32:01Um, traditional.
00:32:04Traditional.
00:32:05Yeah.
00:32:05Okay.
00:32:06Uh, traditions.
00:32:09Family traditions.
00:32:11What are family traditions?
00:32:12We've got, uh, families, families around the Christmas tree.
00:32:15Yeah.
00:32:15Uh, Christmas tree lots.
00:32:16Uh, hot Christmas tree guy.
00:32:18No.
00:32:19No.
00:32:20No.
00:32:20Okay, I have nothing.
00:32:23I have nothing.
00:32:23Okay.
00:32:25Um, okay, it's fine.
00:32:26It's fine.
00:32:27I'll just, um, I'll just wait until next year to be taken seriously as a designer.
00:32:35Okay.
00:32:36No, there's something here.
00:32:37There's something here.
00:32:38You have ideas.
00:32:39Yes.
00:32:45Okay.
00:32:45Let's, uh, go to the hospital.
00:32:51What else are you doing?
00:32:52Okay.
00:32:56It's the third floor over by the door.
00:32:58Talk to me.
00:33:12I can be inspired.
00:33:14I can be inspired.
00:33:17Ow.
00:33:21Sorry.
00:33:22Talking to a tree.
00:33:24This is a new low.
00:33:25What are you doing on the floor?
00:33:37Uh, uh, well, I'm waiting for this tree to tell me what to do.
00:33:44Oh, okay.
00:33:48I think the adult hospital is on the other side of town.
00:33:53Say, am I gonna...
00:33:54Vroom!
00:33:55I'm over there.
00:33:57Uh, no.
00:33:58It's, it's not like that.
00:34:00I'm...
00:34:01I'm looking for inspiration.
00:34:05Are you an artist?
00:34:07Sort of.
00:34:08Could you draw me?
00:34:10Or how about the pyramids?
00:34:11Or me on top of a pyramid with the wind blowing through my hat?
00:34:15Something heroic, you know?
00:34:18I'm not that type of artist, per se.
00:34:22I, I don't draw people or places.
00:34:25I design things.
00:34:29I like your hat.
00:34:30Oh, thanks.
00:34:31I made it myself.
00:34:33So what kind of things do you design?
00:34:34Like clothes and stuff?
00:34:35You know, when I grow up, I'd love to be an artist.
00:34:38I paint and draw all the time.
00:34:40And then that's what I give everybody for Christmas.
00:34:42A hand-painted picture of all the things they love.
00:34:46Wow, that sounds really nice.
00:34:48But, you know, what would you put in your painting?
00:34:52Well, since you asked.
00:34:55I love my dog.
00:34:56I love ballet.
00:34:56My favorite thing is eating popcorn and watching movies with my dad.
00:34:59I write poems.
00:35:00I love feathers and daisies and silly hats.
00:35:02The sillier, the better.
00:35:03And, of course, Christmas trees.
00:35:07Wow, that is a lot of things.
00:35:11Are you sure that you could fit all that in one picture?
00:35:15Of course I could.
00:35:23Is everything okay?
00:35:25What's wrong?
00:35:28Nothing.
00:35:28I just keep forgetting I'm going to be stuck here for Christmas.
00:35:31Oh, my goodness.
00:35:36Rachel?
00:35:37There you are.
00:35:39Sorry, Nana.
00:35:40I just met this really nice lady.
00:35:42We're just a couple of artists having a chat.
00:35:45Oh, is that so?
00:35:47Hi, I'm Jackie.
00:35:48Barbara.
00:35:49Or Nana, depending.
00:35:51I'm Rachel.
00:35:53Run on back to your room.
00:35:54It's nearly bedtime.
00:35:55Okay.
00:35:56Bye, Jackie.
00:35:57Good night, Rachel.
00:35:58I'm so sorry.
00:36:02I didn't realize that it was getting so late.
00:36:04Oh, no need to apologize.
00:36:05It's nice for her to meet new people.
00:36:07She is a pistol.
00:36:10I hope I'm not overstepping here, but Rachel mentioned that she was going to be here for
00:36:14the holidays, and I just...
00:36:15Is she okay?
00:36:17Okay.
00:36:20Rachel has a rare heart condition, but she's doing much better.
00:36:24Thank God.
00:36:25That's good to hear.
00:36:25Well, I'll let you get back to your work.
00:36:30I've got a pistol of a granddaughter waiting on some bedtime stories.
00:36:34Good night.
00:36:34Good night.
00:36:34Good night.
00:36:48Jekyll and Miller call me back immediately the deadline was five minutes ago and I haven't heard
00:37:16from me you got and if we miss this festival entry and I have to go back to working at that cat
00:37:21portrait studio I am going to kill you where have you been hi the hospital is everything okay oh no
00:37:28everything's fine um I went there last night for some inspiration and and I submitted our new concept
00:37:36design 10 minutes ago well well what is it woman okay it's called the memory tree so it's a tree
00:37:44filled with decorations that encapsulate a child's imagination and the meaning and the magic of
00:37:50Christmas and we incorporate the a very vintage Christmas theme by doing handmade ornaments and
00:37:56vintage toys and and just memory making items when did you do all this I didn't sleep yeah here see
00:38:04each ornament will be based on a child and what they love most this one this one is for Rachel
00:38:10it's an ornament that's reflective of all the things that she loves most in this world so as
00:38:15you can see she's got uh her dogs and ballet and Christmas trees and popcorn and movies and
00:38:21it's just everything that she loves and and every ornament will be like that you see they'll all be
00:38:27based on what one child loves and so every child will know that they had an ornament specifically made
00:38:32for them and so they'll just be they'll be this whole tree and and every part of it will be meaningful
00:38:37pretty excited about it
00:38:41by George Eliza you did it this tree it's it's it's amazing it's fun it's magical it's incredible it's
00:38:54clever it's gonna win us this competition I just need to know one thing Heather are you all in
00:39:03well that is literally what you pay me for I know I just I wanted to ask that it seemed fun
00:39:09okay so uh tomorrow we'll go to the hospital and we'll finish interviewing all the kids find out what
00:39:15they like so that we can put them into each of these ornaments uh well okay maybe I could do
00:39:21you know the shopping or the errand running or anything else kids aren't really my thing
00:39:27I don't think they like me please Heather it'll be fun trust me it'll be fun okay uh here in the
00:39:38meantime what we need to do today though is we need to sort of start to flesh out all these ideas
00:39:41so what do you like most about music well what I like most about music is how it makes me feel
00:39:55like I can be happy and you know like dancing or sing along
00:40:00a sword and a laser you are spinning way too many centuries buddy oh maybe I'll put down that
00:40:10you like torture that's fair that's that's correct take that I think that takes care of it you did
00:40:16great Jason thank you so much for your time Jackie my favorite things are animals oh I love that do you
00:40:24have any pets
00:40:30you
00:41:00You
00:41:21Word
00:41:23Maybe you should do this without me. I'm clearly out of my league here. What do you mean?
00:41:27Oh
00:41:29Listen, I actually have to go pick up a few things. Can you finish the last few interviews yourself? Hello? Hello?
00:41:34Have you seen me? I am drowning here. Do not leave me. Heather, there's a couple more interviews and then the fun begins.
00:41:40You said this would be fun. Listen, I just need to go to the Christmas tree lot real quick to pick up something.
00:41:47What?
00:41:49Nothing. Okay, well, then why are you giving me that look? The Christmas tree lot, huh? Yes, I need a branch for one of my ornaments.
00:41:55Oh, okay. Well, there are branches on the trees outside. What are you saying? I'm saying you love him. What?
00:42:00Oh, come on. That Christmas tree guy is hot. You know it. He's...
00:42:05I mean, I didn't notice. Okay, if you have eyes, you notice. He was yummy. Well, he was... he's...
00:42:15Okay, can you please just finish the interviews? Thank you.
00:42:25partner?
00:42:28bitch per se
00:42:39I mean, on the picture of the young man. Because at least to the 57.
00:42:42We'd say you didn't get sick.
00:42:44Why do you do that?
00:42:45You don't get sick?
00:42:48What are you saying?
00:42:50I'm gonna get sick.
00:42:53Something likes putting it out on the front porch.
00:42:55Thanks, man.
00:42:56Excuse me.
00:42:57Hi.
00:42:57Uh, I'm a customer, and I would like some assistance.
00:43:00Well, hello there, miss.
00:43:02If you'd like to purchase a tree, why don't you just say so?
00:43:05Why don't I help you find the perfect tree just for you?
00:43:09Ah.
00:43:10Ah-ha.
00:43:11Okay, now this is the height of sophistication.
00:43:14I mean, it enjoys classical music, 16th-century poetry,
00:43:18and has a propensity for French cinema.
00:43:22Okay.
00:43:23Ha-ha.
00:43:25Look, I'm not even trying to get a tree.
00:43:27What I really need is just some branches.
00:43:28It could be any branches.
00:43:29Just some branches that fell off somewhere or something.
00:43:32Well, unfortunately, I'm not in the business of selling just branches.
00:43:35But if you want to get a full tree, that can be arranged.
00:43:37Okay.
00:43:38Well, then what I'd like is to talk to your boss.
00:43:43You-you want to see my boss?
00:43:45Yeah.
00:43:46I want to talk to the owner, please.
00:43:48Hey, listen, I'm-I'm really sorry, okay?
00:43:51We-we can just start over.
00:43:53We don't have to-
00:43:53Okay, well, I don't think you've left me any choice, so...
00:43:56Just...
00:43:56Okay, I'm gonna...
00:43:59I'm gonna go get him.
00:44:01It's just...
00:44:02It's just a minute.
00:44:03How you doing, ma'am?
00:44:18Brandon Holliday, third-generation owner of Holliday Farms.
00:44:21How can I help?
00:44:22You're the owner.
00:44:24Own the trees, own the lot, own the farm that the trees have grown on, so...
00:44:28Yeah.
00:44:30Okay, can I please just have some branches?
00:44:34Help me understand something here.
00:44:36Is it not hip to buy a full tree anymore?
00:44:39I mean, are the cool kids only buying branches?
00:44:41I-I really need to know, because I may need to restructure my business.
00:44:44You know what?
00:44:44I don't have time for this.
00:44:45I'll take this one.
00:44:46This grotty little tree.
00:44:48It wasn't so hard, now was it?
00:44:51Where are you parked?
00:44:52I hope you rope it up.
00:44:53Uh, no, that's not gonna work.
00:44:54I drive a convertible.
00:44:55Not great for hauling trees.
00:44:59Of course you do.
00:45:01Uh, can someone deliver it?
00:45:02I'm happy to pay extra.
00:45:04Uh, yeah, sure.
00:45:07Just leave your address with Ricardo, and I'll make sure and get this little guy home, okay?
00:45:12Okay.
00:45:14It was a pleasure doing business with you.
00:45:16Uh-huh.
00:45:17I'll see you later.
00:45:18I'll see you later.
00:45:48A cup.
00:45:50This is ready.
00:46:01Hi.
00:46:02One holiday farm's tree for the fancy designer lady.
00:46:07Sorry, you're the delivery guy, too?
00:46:10Yeah, tonight.
00:46:11Uh, where'd you want them?
00:46:13Uh, just, uh, you can leave it on the porch.
00:46:15I don't want it inside.
00:46:15What do you mean you don't want them inside?
00:46:20I don't want the mess.
00:46:23Okay, buddy, you don't need to hear this.
00:46:24Um, I've been telling him he was going to a new home with his own room, beautiful view,
00:46:28and now you're saying he can't go inside?
00:46:29Look at him.
00:46:30He doesn't belong in the outdoors.
00:46:31He's going to a better place.
00:46:35Wow.
00:46:35You're serious.
00:46:36Okay.
00:46:37Sorry, man.
00:46:38Staying outside, I guess.
00:46:42Let me get you a tip.
00:46:44Oh.
00:46:44Um, thank you for your troubles.
00:46:47You did.
00:46:47Absolutely not.
00:46:47I insist.
00:46:48Please, I insist.
00:46:49It's not a problem.
00:46:50I just wanted to bring you the tree.
00:46:52Okay.
00:46:52It's fine.
00:46:53Um, how about some hot apple cider?
00:46:57Fresh hot apple cider.
00:46:59I made some.
00:47:00I was making some when you came, and if you wanted, I don't know, they put up the lights
00:47:03in the park, and it's a nice walk if you're free.
00:47:11Yeah, I would.
00:47:12That sounds actually really nice.
00:47:14Okay.
00:47:14I will get us, uh, some mugs, so.
00:47:17Wait, right here?
00:47:18Yeah, you.
00:47:18I'll be right here.
00:47:19Okay.
00:47:20All right.
00:47:20Okay.
00:47:20Okay.
00:47:25So, Brandon Holiday, a Christmas tree farmer.
00:47:29It's a little on the nose, isn't it?
00:47:30I knew that was coming.
00:47:31On the nose or good marketing?
00:47:33Oh.
00:47:35So, how's the, what is it, Louis Armstrong project coming along?
00:47:39Louis the 14th, and actually I've decided to deviate a little from my initial concept
00:47:43after some careful consideration.
00:47:44Wow, she does listen to other people.
00:47:46When they know what they're talking about, yes.
00:47:49Yeah, I think my new idea is actually really going to capture the spirit of Christmas.
00:47:55You sure you're up for that, Tess?
00:47:57Because, I mean, no offense, you just don't really seem like the Christmas type.
00:48:00What?
00:48:01Do you even like Christmas?
00:48:02Uh, yes, I have very fond memories of Christmas, thank you very much.
00:48:05I just don't stand around in Christmas tree lots and wax poetic about them.
00:48:09Touche.
00:48:09Yeah, that was fair.
00:48:11I mean, I think I just, I spent so much time decorating for other people that I kind
00:48:15of lost interest in doing it for myself and I lost my mom a few years back and I don't
00:48:27really have a relationship with my dad and I have no kids, so I just, yeah.
00:48:34Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your family, it's gotta be hard.
00:48:40My dad died a little while ago, too, so losing a parent's tough.
00:48:45I think sometimes it's just easier to focus on work.
00:48:50I get that.
00:48:51But I don't know.
00:48:52I think Christmas, you know, it also brings people together, you know?
00:48:57You have strangers, friends, family.
00:48:59Okay.
00:49:01Holidays can be tough, but it also brings a lot of joy, you know?
00:49:06Wow.
00:49:06I sound like I'm talking from a Christmas card.
00:49:08You do.
00:49:09I do.
00:49:10You definitely do.
00:49:10I'm just saying.
00:49:13You know, I don't think I've ever met someone who loves something as much as you love Christmas.
00:49:17Uh, yeah, yeah, I probably talk about it too much, don't I?
00:49:21Uh, I like it.
00:49:23It's sweet.
00:49:25Well, you're really easy to talk to.
00:49:28Thanks.
00:49:34What is happening here?
00:49:36I'm not sure.
00:49:42Sorry.
00:49:43I'm sorry.
00:49:44I just...
00:49:45One second.
00:49:47Yeah, I have to take this, too.
00:49:48Oh, yeah, yeah, no.
00:49:49Take it.
00:49:51Hey, honey.
00:49:53No, I know, I know, I know.
00:49:54I had to make a delivery.
00:49:55I'm sorry, but I'll be there in, like, 15, okay?
00:49:58All right, I love you, too.
00:50:00Okay, bye.
00:50:02I'm sorry, that was just, um...
00:50:04No, it's fine.
00:50:04It is...
00:50:05It's...
00:50:06Holy crap!
00:50:08Do you need help?
00:50:09No.
00:50:10I can get you...
00:50:11I'm fine, thank you.
00:50:15It's fine.
00:50:15Don't worry about it.
00:50:16It seems like you are a very busy person, so, uh, actually, I would feel better, though,
00:50:20if I gave you a little cash for your trouble, so let me just get some...
00:50:23No, it's...
00:50:23No, it's...
00:50:23It's on the house.
00:50:25Okay, well, then, good night.
00:50:29Merry Christmas!
00:50:30Merry Christmas!
00:50:37I'll be home in 15 minutes, honey.
00:50:42After I'm done flirting with the failure of a designer.
00:51:00I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in 15 minutes, I'll be home in
00:53:01Whoa, you're not kidding. Those are all the things you love.
00:53:04Wait a second. Did you just say everything you love?
00:53:07Everything.
00:53:08Ah, what about me?
00:53:10You didn't make the cut, sorry.
00:53:12Maybe next year.
00:53:14Okay, me and you, we're talking tonight.
00:53:15Um, thank you for doing that.
00:53:21I had no idea Rachel was your daughter. I didn't know you.
00:53:25Yeah, I guess it, uh, never really came up.
00:53:27Well, I, I see where she gets her Christmas spirit.
00:53:33Do you two know each other?
00:53:36Uh, Jackie bought a tree from the lot, baby.
00:53:39I did, and it's actually right there.
00:53:42Hello, holiday farms. I've missed you.
00:53:48Hey, guys.
00:53:50Hey, Doc.
00:53:51Rachel.
00:53:52You having a party and didn't invite me?
00:53:54I wouldn't call it a party.
00:53:56More like a gathering.
00:53:57Oh.
00:53:58They all heard my voice, so they gather.
00:54:00And then you heard my voice, so you gather.
00:54:03Gathering.
00:54:03Okay, a gathering.
00:54:06So what have you got there?
00:54:08It's an ornament for a Christmas tree.
00:54:10Jackie made it, and it's based on me.
00:54:13Oh, wow, that is something.
00:54:15I'm her inspiration for the Festival of Trees competition.
00:54:18I'm kind of a big deal.
00:54:20Mmm.
00:54:22So you are the famous Jackie that everyone has just been raving about.
00:54:27No, I don't know about that.
00:54:29All the children you interviewed have been going on and on about you,
00:54:33they are so excited to be a part of the festival.
00:54:37I should be thanking them.
00:54:38This is one of the decorations?
00:54:40Yes, this one is based on Rachel and all of her favorite things.
00:54:44Oh.
00:54:45May I?
00:54:46Yeah.
00:54:47Look at this.
00:54:48Oh, my goodness.
00:54:50Such attention to detail.
00:54:52It's all handmade, with the help of my assistant.
00:54:55Wow.
00:54:55Well, we will be looking forward to the finished product.
00:55:00Brandon, do you mind if I steal you away for a minute?
00:55:04Uh, yeah.
00:55:07Yeah.
00:55:07I'll be right back, sweetie.
00:55:08Okay?
00:55:08Okay.
00:55:09Bye, Daddy.
00:55:10Bye.
00:55:14Well, I should get going, too.
00:55:17I have lots more work to do.
00:55:19I just wanted to come by and say thank you so much.
00:55:28So, thanks.
00:55:29Hey, I promise you that I will take so many photos of the finished tree, and you're gonna
00:55:34love it.
00:55:35Okay.
00:55:36Okay.
00:55:37I can't wait.
00:55:37All right.
00:55:38Don't be a stranger.
00:55:39I won't.
00:55:40Bye, guys.
00:55:41Bye.
00:55:45Hey, Jackie.
00:55:47Hey.
00:55:48Is everything okay with the doctor?
00:55:50Uh, yeah.
00:55:51No, no, she's fine.
00:55:52I just, um, I wanted to say thank you for what you did for Rachel.
00:55:55I mean, she was blown away by that.
00:55:58Well, she is, she's amazing.
00:56:01I mean, pretty much my whole design is based on her.
00:56:07Hey, are we good?
00:56:08You know, because the other night, I just...
00:56:11Yeah.
00:56:12No, yeah, we're, we're good.
00:56:14We're...
00:56:15We're good.
00:56:16We're good.
00:56:16We're good.
00:56:16We're good.
00:56:45Well, I could actually, um, I could use a date for the gala.
00:57:12I mean, I don't have a date, so if you are free, and it's a stuffy, like, dressy thing,
00:57:18so if that's okay with you.
00:57:22I could use a little stuffy dressy in my life, so, yes, I would love to go.
00:57:26Okay.
00:57:27That's good.
00:57:28Okay, it's a date.
00:57:29It's a date.
00:57:30All right.
00:57:31Okay.
00:57:32Well.
00:57:33I'm gonna go check on Rachel.
00:57:34Yeah, no.
00:57:35But...
00:57:35You should do that, and I'm gonna walk away and stop talking.
00:57:39Okay.
00:57:40Okay.
00:57:40I'll see you this weekend.
00:57:41Yeah.
00:57:42I'll see you this weekend.
00:58:12And I'll see you this weekend.
00:58:13And I'll see you this weekend.
00:58:13I'll see you this weekend.
00:58:16I'm gonna walk away.
00:58:19I can feel the joy.
00:58:22Even if...
00:58:23Even if you don't win this year, you will.
00:58:27But if you don't...
00:58:29But you will.
00:58:30I'm just...
00:58:31I'm really proud of you for putting all of this together.
00:58:35Well, I couldn't have done it without you.
00:58:38You are seriously the best.
00:58:40No, us two.
00:58:42We've got it.
00:58:44We've got it up here.
00:58:45In our skulls and we have it down here.
00:58:48In our ribs.
00:58:51I'm talking brains and heart.
00:58:54Honey can't buy that.
00:58:56And that's why Alice what's her face is going to taste a sweet smell of losing.
00:58:59Okay, no more hooch for you.
00:59:01You know what I mean.
00:59:03No, you are going to win this year.
00:59:06We are going to win this year.
00:59:09Because we're a team.
00:59:11Yeah, we are.
00:59:13What are you doing?
00:59:26Remind me to please thank my dear old Gran for this spectacular headache.
00:59:30All right, here we are.
00:59:34Jacqueline Miller designs.
00:59:37Finally.
00:59:37Did you think it was so fabulous?
00:59:38Honestly, I really didn't.
00:59:39I think that maybe there were five of them.
00:59:41Here, here, here.
00:59:43Roger, coffee.
00:59:44But there are four of them?
00:59:45Oh, I wonder where Alice's tree is or what her theme is.
00:59:53Oh, it's way over on the other side of the sponsored trees.
00:59:56Sponsored trees, yeah.
00:59:58Sorry.
01:00:00Listen, don't worry about her tree.
01:00:01Don't worry about anyone else's tree.
01:00:03Okay, ours is perfect and it's gone around.
01:00:05Yeah, it's just they had those really fancy carts.
01:00:08Okay, everything about that woman annoys me.
01:00:12Well, if you...
01:00:35I'll tell you guys be right behind me.
01:00:40There we go.
01:00:42So, I hope we'll get to that.
01:00:44We'll see you next time.
01:00:44I'll show you next time.
01:00:45Bye.
01:00:46Bye.
01:00:48Bye.
01:00:50Bye.
01:00:55Bye.
01:00:55Bye.
01:00:56Bye.
01:00:57Bye.
01:00:58Bye.
01:00:58Bye.
01:00:59Bye.
01:00:59Bye.
01:01:00Bye.
01:01:00Bye.
01:01:00Bye.
01:01:01Bye.

01:01:02Bye.
01:01:02Bye.
01:01:03Bye.
01:03:34I could not be prouder of the work that you and I did to get us this far.
01:03:39I mean, look at it.
01:03:39I think it might be some of our finest work ever.
01:03:41Oh, is she a beauty or what?
01:03:47Such class and elegance.
01:03:49Of course it is.
01:03:50A fantastic designer designed it.
01:03:53Oh, thank you.
01:03:55It's very beautiful, Alice.
01:03:57It's very beautiful, Alice.
01:03:58Good luck.
01:03:59Come on.
01:04:00Oh, wait a minute.
01:04:01I didn't get to see what you put together.
01:04:05What's your theme?
01:04:06Well, it's called the memory tree.
01:04:10Well, it is quaint.
01:04:18It's inspiring.
01:04:19Oh, well, my darling.
01:04:21All art is inspiring.
01:04:23That's why we do what we do.
01:04:26Okay.
01:04:27I'm going to explain something to you.
01:04:28These average people that come in here for the festival, poor things.
01:04:36They don't know anything about style.
01:04:38They don't know what looks good or what doesn't.
01:04:41You know who they turn to for guidance?
01:04:44Me.
01:04:45Her.
01:04:45Now, I, can you, I could strip these branches bare and next year it'll be considered the
01:04:57latest trend.
01:04:58That's all design is.
01:05:00You decide what you like, you tell other people it's what they want.
01:05:05Well, maybe that's what it is for you, Alice, and good for you.
01:05:11But one thing I've learned from the festival this year is that a true artist learns from
01:05:17others.
01:05:18A true artist draws inspiration from the world around them and opens their heart and mind
01:05:24so they can see what's important to people and help try to bring that to life for them
01:05:28to enjoy.
01:05:34Now, that's poetic.
01:05:39Best of luck to you, Alice.
01:05:41May the best tree win.
01:05:42Come on.
01:05:44I'm proud of our tree.
01:05:45Don't worry.
01:05:46It will.
01:05:48Roger, you're doing it again.
01:05:56I'll be right there.
01:05:57Oh, wow.
01:06:07Uh, I mean, good evening, miss.
01:06:10I'm here to escort the very talented, world-famous designer to her event.
01:06:14Stop it.
01:06:16Seriously, you look very gala-esque.
01:06:18Is that your tree lot salesman way of saying I look nice?
01:06:23Okay.
01:06:23Uh, I'm better with trees and people sometimes.
01:06:25But you look way better than nice.
01:06:27You, you look gorgeous.
01:06:29And you look very handsome.
01:06:33These are for you, by the way.
