Seth Rogen talks about 'Platonic' Season 2, becoming the new Nicole Kidman and Martin Scorsese's 'The Studio' Emmy nomination.

00:00When did you know you were going to, yes, we needed a second season with you and Rogue?

00:05I mean, honestly, as we were finishing the first season, I think is when I started bringing it up to Nick and Francesca and be like,

00:12I know we sort of conceived this as like a limited series maybe, but I was like, I would love to keep doing this.

00:18And it seems like there's a lot more of these characters to do and they seem far from being fixed in any capacity.

00:24And so, yeah, I was bringing it up while we were shooting.

00:26How much of it is based on real life stories?

00:31Because I think the acid in the champagne glass feels very real to me.

00:37That does feel real.

00:38That didn't happen to me, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was based on real life stories.

00:42In this season, I move into Rose's Garage, which is something that I've done in my real life.

00:48I've had a lot of friends in my guest house.

00:52So, yeah, I think that feels very real.

00:55I was thinking earlier, you're sort of like the Nicole Kidman.

00:59You're everywhere, just like Nicole.

01:02When do you sleep?

01:03Put me on Lioness.

01:07When do you sleep?

01:09I sleep every night, same amount as everybody else.

01:11I get good sleep.

01:12I sleep eight hours a night.

01:14Who's doing all this work for you then?

01:16Because it seems like you're non-stop.

01:18I mean, I do like to work and I like to shoot, especially.

01:22I love being on set.

01:23And so, yeah, I do tend to make a lot of things and always have, I think, honestly.

01:30Like, I think I've always kind of been proud of having a lot of output, you know.

01:36And it's mostly stuff I'm very fond of, you know.

01:40And so, yeah, as long as I can do that, I will keep doing it.

01:44Did you ever think in your wildest dreams, your little Seth growing up, that you would get Marty Scorsese an Emmy for acting?

01:54No, I really didn't.

01:56Someone had to.

01:57I don't know.

01:58But, yeah, it's very weird.

02:00The fact that he seemed very happy about it was very touching to me.

02:04I think deep down I was very afraid that he just regretted doing the show.

02:09And then to see how happy he was about the nomination.

02:12And I was texting with his daughter who was saying that he was very happy about it.

02:18So, I feel great about it.

02:19Is he insisting on being in next season?

02:22I don't know if he's insisting, but we will try to rope him in.

02:25I'll tell you that.

02:26I know you told me.

02:27Who did you want, Daniel Day-Lewis?

02:29Are we any closer?

02:31I've heard he probably won't do it.

02:37So, no.

02:39How many asks have gone out, though, for fun guest stars that you won't tell me about?

02:45A few.

02:46I think we're out to like three or four people that we're really hoping to get.

02:49And one or two of them, if they say no, we literally have to throw the entire episode in the garbage, which would be a bummer.

02:55But this is the corner we paint ourselves into.

02:58Who has sent you a text or an email saying, I want to be on this studio?

03:03A lot of our friends, which is nice.

03:05Who are actors, things like that.
