00:00Hi Seth, I'm Jodie. Lovely to meet you. I like your tweed suits. Lovely. Thank you.
00:04Welcome to London. It's BAFTA weekend. It is. How are you feeling?
00:09I feel good. I've never been to this or been invited to this and it's very exciting. So yeah, always
00:16nice.
00:16How did you feel when you got that BAFTA nomination for the studio?
00:19It was really cool and completely unexpected and yeah, I think as a comedy especially like
00:26when you're up against dramatic things, you don't necessarily expect to get any recognition whatsoever.
00:32So it was very exciting. Yeah.
00:36I know it's done so well across the pond, but how does it compare to have a BAFTA nomination?
00:41It's very cool. It seems much fancier. Yeah, I would say it feels fancier to me personally. Yeah.
00:49Why do you think the show has resonated so much?
00:52I mean, I really hope just because it's, I think, I think because it's funny.
00:58Like I think just because we work very hard to make it as funny as it can be and we
01:03try
01:03to make it outwardly comedic and, and we really try to let the performers be funny.
01:10And, and I think, you know, as like specific as a thing that it's about, I think the storylines
01:19and the comedy in it is pretty universal and easy for everyone to wrap their head around.
01:24Does it feel like more special as well because it's a TV series getting recognized?
01:28Yeah. I mean, it's funny.
01:29Like I've been making movies a very long time and we've never gotten any recognition in any way,
01:34shape or form. And so, yes, it's, it's thrilling. Yeah.
01:37And obviously Catherine O'Hara, absolute legend, obviously so devastated that we've lost a true light of the industry.
01:44I mean, how do you guys feel going into the next season?
01:48Um, I mean, it's very hard and, uh, and very sad and it's a constant topic of conversation.
01:55And, um, but at the same time, I think working, you know, getting to spend all day, every day with
02:01like the people
02:02who really worked closely with her and knew her and kind of getting to all move through it together,
02:07I think has been therapeutic in a lot of ways. Yeah.
02:11I need to let you get on, but I will see you tomorrow. Good luck.
02:14Thank you so much.
02:15Enjoy. Thank you.
02:23Hi, how are you?
02:24Hi, how are you? Good to meet you. Cheers. Good to see you.
02:26I feel like great.
02:27Yeah.
02:28Listen, congratulations.
02:30Well, thank you.
02:31BAFTA weekend. How are you feeling?
02:33I'm a, I'm a big, uh, Anglophile. I love, uh, Great Britain. And, uh, as a little boy, I imagine
02:42one day I'll be at the BAFTAs and here we are.
02:44Um, even though I'm Seth's seat filler. So when he comes back in, I do have to leave.
02:50Right. So that is your official title for tomorrow?
02:52Yes, yes, yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because that way I've been making a couple of pounds too, so it's pretty
02:57good.
02:57But how does it feel to be nominated? I mean, BAFTA nominated as well?
03:01It's amazing. It's, we love this show. We love doing it. And it's one thing when the folks in LA,
03:08in the business love it, but to have people across the pond, uh, respond to it is, it's a real
03:14dream.
03:14And I might see Steve Coogan at some point, which I will properly geek out at.
03:20Get him in the studio. Get him in it.
03:22My dream.
03:24Why do you think the show has resonated so much?
03:27Well, I think it, it, it, it, it's fun. It gives you the showbiz vibes that you want. But I
03:34also think some of the themes they deal with in the episodes, professional jealousy, a coworker who drives you crazy.
03:42Those are pretty universal, whatever field you're in, whatever country you're in. Um, so I, I, and, and we're also
03:48very stupid. And we like to fall down a lot and look dumb. And I think that people like that.
03:53People love it. Oh, listen, it's great to see you. Good luck. I'll see you tomorrow.
03:56Cheers. We'll see you tomorrow.
03:57See you tomorrow. Good luck.
