00:00Parts of New South Wales were blanketed in unusually heavy snowfall as locals around the
00:05state braised for severe weather over the first weekend in August 2025. SES crews in Armadale
00:12and Surrounds described the snowfall as being at depths never seen before. Residents of the
00:18regional city were told to avoid travelling and to stay near shelter for the duration of the
00:23event. Meanwhile, in the New South Wales Hunter region, heavy rainfall caused flooding as major
00:31roads were forced to close. Emergency services were called to Rothbury near Cessnock after 7.50pm
00:37on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, where they found a small car trapped in flood water. The 27-year-old
00:45driver and a 26-year-old passenger, both reported to be Chinese nationals visiting the area on working
00:51visas, attempted to exit the bogged vehicle. But the 26-year-old woman was swept away by
00:57the flood waters. The 27-year-old was able to resurface and managed to save her dog as well.
01:04A search for the missing car and the missing passenger continued at first light on Monday,
01:09August 4th, 2025.
