00:00We were up at Ybor yesterday where they got between 10 and 50 millimetres of snow, the largest in 20 years.
00:10And while the day began off as this winter wonderland, it quickly became apparent that this was going to cause traffic havoc.
00:17We saw a number of highway closures as well as Amada Regional Airport's runway being closed due to snow there.
00:24It was pretty hard powder where we were.
00:26But also that led to people being trapped.
00:29The SES told us up to 200 vehicles at its peak were trapped in the snow.
00:36Now, there are reports also that more snow is expected later today.
00:40So if you're around that Armadale to Tamworth region, it's good to just stay indoors and avoid all travel is what we're hearing.
00:46Further on the mid-north coast, it's not snow that they've really been dealing with, but it's more damaging wind.
00:50So we've seen that wind gusts up to 90 to 100 kilometres per hour were being felt in parts of the mid-north coast.
00:59So, for example, down in Kempsey, Crescent Head, Southwest Rocks, we've also seen reports that roofs were torn off buildings.
01:07So that's some pretty dramatic weather all across the state, just coming in different forms from the sounds of things.
01:14So the SES have told us they've been able to get out to most of the jobs towards Nambucca and Maxville.
01:20But, for example, in Kempsey, live wires are really hampering their work.
01:24They've got about half their jobs they still need to do down there.
01:26What's also happened down there is that Kempsey High School, we've been told by the Department of Education, has lost a big portion of its roof.
01:33And so it's particularly worrying for any kids down there who might be going into their trial HSC exams tomorrow.
01:39.
