00:00Sense that guidance beyond expectation.
00:03This AI-generated video imagines a Taiwanese city where AI and robotics have been fully integrated into society,
00:11a vision shared by some of Taiwan's biggest tech CEOs at a recent AI exhibition.
00:30With a new $3.5 billion US dollar AI investment plan, Taiwan aims to supercharge its industry,
00:38build a full-stack AI ecosystem, and put local talent on display.
00:43Taiwan is trying to show that it's climbing the entire AI value chain, not just making the chips inside.
00:49And shows like this, packed with AI-powered startups from robot makers to film studios, are one way to do that.
00:56One example is Anchor Film, a production house that shot conventional commercials until a few years ago,
01:03when it pivoted to nearly full AI content creation.
01:06And with many of the previous skills, it will suddenly turn around, or if you're forced to change the tools,
01:12it will always be a shock.
01:14But our friends are really proud of it.
01:17Everyone is looking at this trend, so we can jump in.
01:22Now, they might take a picture of a product, say a medical mask,
01:25and use AI to generate the rest.
01:28Or take a picture of a person and put them inside a video game.
01:41You win!
01:43While some may feel uneasy about using AI ads,
01:47the company says their customers get big-budget visuals without big-budget costs.
01:51For example, like a cloud movie, or a cloud movie, or a 3D movie, or a 360-degree movie.
02:02These visual effects are their previous plans and time, but now they can use AI to achieve the
02:12visual effects of the visual effects of the past.
02:17Local firms are also breaking into the world of robotics, humanoid and dog alike.
02:22One company is making specialized robot dogs for bespoke customers.
02:27Taipei has been urging local firms in sensitive sectors, such as the drone industry,
02:48to buy parts outside of China and steer clear of Chinese AI models for security reasons.
02:54Officials call the strategy a non-red supply chain.
02:57And this company says its robots are a part of it.
03:00Oh yeah, definitely. Because this dog is 100% made by Taiwan.
03:04And we don't use the open source code or something like that.
03:07We create everything by ourselves.
03:09So we have been approved we are now a red supply chain.
03:13With continued investment in the local ecosystem and innovative enterprises, the message is clear.
03:19Taiwan aims to be a creator, not just a supplier, in the global AI economy.
