00:00More on tariffs, US President Donald Trump says he and his Mexican counterpart, Claudia Sheinbaum, have agreed to extend their trade agreement by 90 days.
00:09Now this delays Trump's move to impose 30% tariffs across the board on Mexican goods, which were originally set to take effect on August 1st.
00:18Trump described his phone conversation with Sheinbaum as successful, saying the two leaders are beginning to understand each other better.
00:26As part of the deal, Mexico has agreed to immediately terminate non-tariff trade barriers.
00:32Both sides also pledged to deepen cooperation on border security, including joint efforts to combat drug trafficking and enforce immigration controls.
00:41The agreement maintains existing tariffs, including 25% on cars as well as fentanyl production, and 50% on steel, aluminium and copper imports from Mexico.
