00:00I had some time before my drink was ready. So I went there and I said, can I have six pierogi?
00:07And he said, no. I said, you've run out of pierogi? Too bad. No, we have plenty of pierogi.
00:13I just won't sell them to you. What do you mean you won't sell them to me?
00:17I won't sell them to you because I don't approve of your politics.
00:22Ladies and gentlemen, not all heroes wear capes. Some of them happen to be
00:27pierogi vendors at Martha's Vineyard. And one vendor in particular apparently
00:34finds Alan Dershowitz and his politics so loathsome that he refused to serve the lawyer who has
00:43offended the idea in an op-ed of legalizing statutory rape. I'm not kidding, you can look it up for
00:49yourselves. The guy who defended all sorts of horrible people including Harvey Weinstein,
00:55OJ Simpson, you get the point. And so Dershowitz is now threatening to sue.
01:01Dershowitz says that he went to the farmers market at Martha's Vineyard. And while he was waiting for
01:09a freshly squeezed orange juice, he noticed that there was a pierogi stand. He loves pierogies,
01:13he wanted to get a snack. And that's when it took a turn. Take a look.
01:17When he was making it, I walked across the area and there was the pierogi place. The pierogi place where
01:26you could get the kind of things my grandmother made, pierogies. They're Ukrainian Russian
01:33delicacies. And I had gone there a few times before and I bought the pierogies. They were okay,
01:38they were not my grandmother's pierogies, but they were okay. And I had some time before my drink was
01:44ready. So I went there and I said, can I have six pierogi? And he said, no. I said, you've run out
01:52of pierogi? Too bad. No, no, no, we have plenty of pierogi. I just won't sell them to you.
01:58What do you mean you won't sell them to me? I won't sell them to you because I don't approve
02:01of your politics. I don't approve of who you've represented. I don't approve of who you support.
02:07I said, what is it about my politics that you don't? I'm not going to tell you,
02:12I just don't like your politics. All right, I think that that is totally fine.
02:21Now look, Kate, I know a lot of people don't like my politics and that's okay.
02:25Am I going to go around and sue them if they refuse to sell me a dumpling? Probably not. I think I have
02:30better things to do with my time. But I don't know, what are your thoughts? Do you think it's fair to
02:34refuse service if the individual attempting to buy something from a business has disgusting politics
02:42that the business doesn't like? Yeah, I think it's fair. I mean,
02:48I feel like this is a slippery slope kind of thing. Do I want everyone refusing everyone
02:53else service because they disagree with them on certain things? No, but it's legal.
03:00So I don't know what, I mean, there's no shot that he's going to win any sort of lawsuit that
03:05he brings against this guy. I mean, I understand why people might be uncomfortable with something
03:11like that. But like, I'm okay with someone refusing to serve, you know, a person who voluntarily
03:18defended some of the most loathsome people in this country's history. Like,
03:24Jeffrey's not a public, yeah, he's not a public defender. He didn't have to do that. So, you know.
03:30That's so true. Yeah.
03:31If he has to go a day without a pierogi, I'm not going to shed any tears for him.
03:37Same, absolutely. Now, despite the vendor stating plainly, clearly he disagreed with
03:45Dershowitz's politics and that was the motivating factor in denying him service.
03:50Dershowitz thinks that there's something else at play. So let's hear him out.
03:53Now, the clear implication was that he opposed me because I defended Donald Trump on the floor
04:00of the Senate. I was a Zionist. I noticed the week before I went there and I was wearing my
04:06other shirt. I wasn't wearing my farmer's market shirt. I was wearing proud American Zionist shirt,
04:12proud American Zionist, red, white and blue. And I recall that he looked at it strangely, but I didn't
04:19talk to him. But it became evident to me that he opposed my being a Zionist, my support for Israeli
04:26opposed. He thinks I'm a down the line Trump supporter. Obviously, I supported President Trump's
04:32constitutional rights. I said to him, there's a law in Massachusetts, you can't refuse to serve people
04:39on the basis of race. You couldn't say I don't serve black people. You couldn't say I don't serve
04:44Jews or Catholics. And I don't think you can really say and you shouldn't say I don't serve people
04:53whose politics I disagree with. I don't serve Republicans or I don't serve Zionists.
04:58But the vendor actually does have the right to refuse service if he doesn't like Zionists and a
05:09creepy looking dude wearing a massive pro Zionist sweater or t-shirt approaches and wants to buy
05:14a pierogi. Believe it or not, that is totally okay in Massachusetts. Zionism isn't a race and
05:23it's nothing more than an ideology. So people can not like an ideology and refuse service
05:29based on an individual supporting said ideology. And that's what happened here. I don't think it
05:34has anything to do with him voting for Trump. I'm sure plenty of people who shop at the Martha's
05:41Vineyard Farmers Market have voted for Trump. I think it probably did have something to do with
05:47the fact that Dershowitz is a public figure. People know what he stands for. People know who he has
05:52defended in a court of law. And yeah, the vendor might have also had a problem with the pro Zionism
06:00outfit that Dershowitz was wearing. Maybe he should have opted for his farmers market outfit,
06:05the traditional farmers market shirt he likes to wear. But look, the thing about Dershowitz that annoys me
06:14the most is that he threatens to sue everybody. He threatened to sue us. And you know what we said?
06:22Do it. He was mad that I had referenced his comments in the past.
06:33Basically, I said something along the lines of it's not like you seem to have much concern
06:37for children given your past. I said something like that. He's like, I'm gonna sue, I'm gonna sue.
06:41And to Jake's credit, he's like, okay, do it. Discovery is gonna be real fun.
06:45Yeah. And he dropped it. Yeah.
06:49I mean, he's just like the epitome of a person who has all the privilege in the world, but
06:54perpetually sees himself as a victim and will do anything if he's slightly offended. He just thinks
07:02that he's too important. People can't say anything bad about him or he's gonna sue them.
07:09And just the cherry on top is that it all happened on Martha's Vineyard, honestly.
07:13I know.
07:13I know.
07:14And it reminded me of a story that I remember the New York Times reported back in 2018 about
07:20how all of his friends on Martha's Vineyard were ditching him. And the headline of the piece was,
07:27on Martha's Vineyard, a frosty summer for Alan Dershowitz.
07:30Oh my God.
07:31And for that, in that piece, he was quoted. And he said, I never thought I would see McCarthyism
07:37come to Martha's Vineyard, but I have. Right, right, right, right.
07:41And I mean, bro, you defended the worst people on the planet. I think it's valid for people to
07:48not want to associate with you for that alone. For that alone.
07:53I mean, I understand he's trying to make the connection between Zionism and his Judaism so
07:59that that maybe applies to the law saying you can't discriminate against someone for their religion.
08:04But there's two issues with that. The first being Zionism is not a religion.
08:09So it's a nationalist political movement. So that's already an issue. And he is completely
08:16guessing. The guy didn't actually say anything about Zionism. He's guessing that the guy the week
08:23before saw him in a shirt that he didn't like, and then remembered that it was him. And then the
08:30following week didn't serve him because of the shirt. I know, that's right.
08:35Come on, come on. Do you actually think a judge is gonna
08:39say that that's a valid argument? There's no indication that that's why the guy didn't serve
08:42him. I mean, the privilege is mind-blowing. The privilege is mind-blowing. I'd be shocked
08:48if he actually filed a lawsuit. But if he does, there's no merit there at all. And he probably knows
08:55that. I mean, I don't know. Dershowitz is a creep. Who knows what he's up to or what he'll actually do?
09:01I don't think that he'd win that lawsuit. But the final thing I'll say is when you're a public figure,
09:09you experience life just like anyone else does. And you experience conflict like anyone else does.
09:15Sometimes more conflict if you're a public figure. But nonetheless, just daily
09:19annoyances or little baby conflicts that happen. There's a woman in my neighborhood who has a big
09:26dog and she's kind of elderly and can't control it. So she literally screams at people at the top
09:32of her lungs to cross the street if they're coming near her. And I hate that woman, deeply hate that
09:39woman. You're the one with the dog that you can't control. The onus is on, we have fights on a regular
09:47basis, okay? The idea that I would put together a lengthy stream where I'm highlighting it and
09:53talking about how I'm going to sue her. People have other things to do with their lives.
09:57They don't need to hear about your stupid little drama at Martha's Vineyard. But it goes to the sense
10:03of entitlement and it goes to this narcissism. He thinks he's so important that everyone wants to
10:09hear about how he was wronged at the farmer's market. It's like, no one cares about you. I would be
10:14shocked if anyone actually even likes you. And he needs to realize that. The world would be a better
10:21place if you realize that. But something tells me he's too up his own ass to even notice what the
10:26world thinks about Alan Dershowitz. Every time you ring the bell below,
10:30an angel gets his wings. Totally not true, but it does keep you updated on our live shows.
