00:00Justin Timberlake is sharing his Lyme disease diagnosis.
00:03In an Instagram post July 31st, the singer writes,
00:07As many of you know, I'm a pretty private person,
00:09but as I'm reflecting on the tour and festival tour,
00:12I want to tell you a little bit about what's going on with me.
00:15I've been battling some health issues and was diagnosed with Lyme disease,
00:19which I don't say so you feel bad for me,
00:22but to shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes.
00:25If you've ever experienced this disease or know someone who has,
00:28then you're aware.
00:30Living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically.
00:34When I first got the diagnosis, I was shocked for sure,
00:38but at least I could understand why I would be on stage
00:40and in a massive amount of nerve pain or just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness.
00:45I was faced with a personal decision.
00:47Stop touring or keep going and figure it out.
00:50I decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling.
00:55I'm so glad I kept going.
00:56Not only did I prove my mental tenacity to myself,
00:59but I now have so many special moments with all of you that I will never forget.
