00:00Sheffield Wednesday is not just a football club.
00:04It's, you know, it's something that brings families together.
00:07It's, you know, generations of sort of passing on an obsession
00:13and it becomes a way of life.
00:17You know, when we've spoken about the price of season tickets
00:19and shirts and all this sort of thing,
00:22Sheffield Wednesday and the costs that come with it,
00:25it's like a gas or electric bill.
00:27You know, it goes up and you have to pay it.
00:29It's just part of your annual expenditure.
00:33And for it to have been dragged down to the depths of despair
00:40that we've seen is an absolute disgrace and a flagrant disregard
00:46for an institution that, in tandem with another, shall we say,
00:53has held a city together in so many ways.
00:55And the cultural and sociological impact of this happening
01:03to a football club, people who aren't interested in football
01:06won't understand it.
01:09You know, some might because they'll know people that, you know,
01:12loved ones or what have you that have got the bug.
01:16But the whole thing, we've seen Wednesday be,
01:23I was going to swear then, rubbish at times.
01:26And the fans have still gone to wherever on a Tuesday night
01:31and filled the place out and sung the hearts out.
01:34It's not about the football.
01:35It's about the structures that it provides.
01:40And these football clubs play such an important role.
