00:01:50In the novel Frankenstein, the, uh, opening narrative is told through a series of letters that Captain Walton writes to his sister, Margaret Seville.

00:01:59Walton's an Arctic explorer.

00:02:01His ship gets trapped in the ice somewhere in the Arctic Circle.

00:02:03And it's there that he meets Dr. Victor Frankenstein.

00:02:07He tells Walton his story.

00:02:09Walton then relates this same story to his sister through a series of letters.

00:02:14And these letters form the basis of the novel.
