00:00Adam Sandler is always thinking about Cameron Boyce.
00:03The Saturday Night Live alum's decision to include a subtle nod to his late Grown Ups co-star in Happy Gilmore 2,
00:10a quick clip of Cameron's Disney Channel days sneakily shown on a TV screen in the background, was a no-brainer.
00:16Adam tells The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published July 29th, quote,
00:20This was just a moment where we were like, what should we throw on the TV?
00:24We said, might as well throw Cameron in there. He's the man. Keep him part of our family.
00:28And so that's why we did it.
00:30Plus, the tribute was rooted in the 51st date star's friendship with Cameron,
00:34who died in 2019 at the age of 20 after experiencing a seizure in his sleep.
00:39Adam continues, quote,
00:40Love that kid. He was one of the sweetest persons I've ever met.
00:43Just constantly in a good mood, constantly great energy, loving to everybody.
00:48He felt like a family member to us when we were shooting Grown Ups.
00:51The late actor's mom, Libby Boyce, commented on her appreciation of the gesture.
00:55Writing on Instagram, July 27th, quote,
00:59Adam always finds a way to keep Cam's memory alive, which warms our hearts.
01:03She continues, quote,
01:04Adam and Cameron talked quite a bit in the days leading up to his death.
01:08Cameron was supposed to be in Hubie's Halloween and they were strategizing.
01:11They had a bond, I think, related to being authentic, funny and just keeping it real.
01:15I think I've seen it all.
