PELOSI Act Backed By GOP Senator: 'Perplexing' How Politicians Get Rich In Office

00:09stands for but look I think it's great look I before I ran for office in my

00:13primary I sold all my individual stocks sold all my operating businesses because

00:18they want any conflicts of interest and that should exist for every single

00:21elected official not just here in Washington DC and I'd say every elected

00:25official and that should also be the case for state and local officials there

00:29should be no conflicts like when you vote for somebody you should know hey this

00:32person is going out there to represent me not their own personal financial I find

00:35it perplexing as a business guy who took a long time to build up my wealth how

00:39people can come here with no wealth whatsoever make four thousand dollars a

00:43pay period and also become multi-millionaires that is perplexing to

00:47me I think it's perplexing to be an infuriating to the American public in

00:51your time here you felt a pushback or reluctance to go ahead with that idea I

00:56mean he's recently is last week the house ethics committee released a report

00:59on Carson Mike Kelly and and some questions look you guys look at the data

01:04the data is the data you get here and you have a net worth of basically zero

01:08you're here for 12 years and you're multi-millionaire how does that work so I

01:12think it's it's in plain sight and we get we have to restore confidence in our

01:17institutions it started with our elected leaders that's why I did that and by the

01:20idea that I did it in the primary I didn't wait I didn't put in the blind trust

01:24blind trust because there didn't be things I sold my Bitcoin at $10,000 by

01:28the way because I didn't want to have people say all these advocating for

01:31Bitcoin because he owns it look you shouldn't be able to look at the

01:34elected leaders ago they are completely free of any conflicts that are here to

01:38serve the American people I hope we pass that bill
