00:29According to Kuala Lumpur City Hall, DBKL, some of these individuals have turned walkways and even parts of the road into makeshift studios, putting themselves, tourists and the public at risk.
00:40In response to growing complaints, DBKL launched OpsLens, a joint operation with the police, immigration and federal agencies.
00:50The exercise, focused around the KLCC vicinity, resulted in 41 compounds being issued to unlicensed photographers on Sunday.
01:00In a statement, DBKL said these rogue photographers obstruct public movement and pose safety risks, especially when they operate on the roads.
01:09It added that repeat offenders risk having their equipment confiscated.
01:13DBKL said enforcement will continue in popular tourist hotspots and urge visitors to be cautious when approached by individuals offering photography services without a permit.
