Two siblings pleaded not guilty in the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court on Monday (July 28) to kidnapping and voluntarily causing hurt to a man last week.  Lorry attendant V. Kirtik Ram, 19, and despatch rider V. Theshvinram, 18, were jointly charged with abducting a 21-year-old local man with the intention of secretly and wrongfully confining him. 00:00Two brothers pleaded not guilty in the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court on Monday

00:04to charges of kidnapping and voluntarily causing hurt to a man in Puchong last week.

00:1019-year-old V. Kurtik Ram, who is a lorry attendant,

00:13and dispatch rider V. Thesh Vinram, aged 18,

00:17were jointly charged with abducting a 21-year-old local man

00:20with the intention of secretly and wrongfully confining him.

00:24The charge, under Section 365 of the Penal Code,

00:27provides a maximum prison sentence of seven years

00:30and is liable to a fine upon conviction.

00:34For the second charge, they were jointly charged under Section 323 of the same law

00:39with voluntarily causing hurt to the same individual.

00:42They face a maximum prison sentence of one year

00:45or a fine of up to 2,000 ringgit or both upon conviction for the offence.

00:50Both offences were allegedly committed at Jalan Paziaran Permai in Bukit Puchong

00:56at 6.38 p.m. on July 22nd.

00:59A video of the incident had gone viral.

01:03The duo were allowed bail of 5,000 ringgit each for the kidnapping charge

01:07and 2,000 ringgit each for causing hurt.
