00:00The Motive of Love
00:06The love Jesus shows us is the same love that motivates us to love each other.
00:12Love compels us to live our lives thinking about our fellow believers and serving each
00:17other's need.
00:18The love of Jesus holds us all together and fuels our actions and attitudes toward one
00:24another.
00:24It's the spiritual glue that holds our lives together in a Christian community.
00:30The love of Jesus applies to every aspect of our lives as Christians.
00:35It impacts how we treat one another and how we receive and serve strangers.
00:40But it also impacts the marriage relationship.
00:43Marriage was God's gracious design.
00:46He created the bond of marriage in the beginning when he created Adam and then brought Eve to
00:52him to be his wife.
00:53So marriage is godly and holy.
00:56It is perfectly from the Lord.
00:58That is why marriage should be kept pure and holy between a man and a woman.
01:04There are to be no intimate relationships outside the boundaries of marriage.
01:09We ought to value our relationships with our mates with great honor, respect, and purity.
01:14This quality of love reflects the wonderful nature of Jesus, that he remains unchanging in his
01:21ways, in his mercy to the world, and in his righteous care over all our lives.
01:26Only the word of God can bring you to a knowledge of Jesus and enable you to experience his glory.
01:33Your relationship to him, not the keeping of a system of rules and regulations, keeps you
01:39in right standing with God.
01:42Sin is our greatest problem.
01:44Sin separates us from God and prevents us from experiencing the promise of eternal life.
01:50Sin mars our identity as image bearers of God.
01:53That's why Jesus came to take away our sin and offer himself as a perfect sacrifice, a perfect
02:00sin offering, to God for our sin.
02:03Hebrews closes with a moving benediction, a blessing.
02:07Now may the God of peace, who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great shepherd
02:13of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work
02:18to do his will, working in you what is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be
02:25glory for ever and ever.
02:27Amen.
02:28In Jesus we have not only a perfect high priest but also a great shepherd.
02:33He cares deeply for your welfare and desires to lead you to places of peace and goodness.
02:40Spiritual maturity aims at bringing you to a place where you humbly accept and pursue
02:45God's will for you and your life.
02:48And Jesus offers his power at work in you to bring you to that level of trust and obedience.
02:54What is the important thing for a child of God?
02:57To do his will, to allow him to work his will in your life, working in you what is well-pleasing
03:03in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever.
03:09Amen.
03:10God lovingly and graciously takes great care to provide for you in Jesus, so that you have
03:15everything you need to stand firm in the faith, no matter the circumstances.
03:20He offers his personal power and unchanging presence as a source of both comfort and strength
03:26to face life's inevitable challenges.
03:29As God had been faithful to their ancestors in the past, he would prove faithful to these
03:35believers in Jesus as well.
03:37God is faithful.
03:39Jesus has accomplished for us our eternal salvation and we have everything we need to walk faithfully
03:45with him to the end.
03:47Grace be with you all.
