Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam Ends with Heavyweight Glory and Home Triumphs

The final day in Ulaanbaatar delivered explosive judo. Okada, Sampaio, Savytskiy, Fontaine and Mongolia’s own Batkhuyag took gold. The arena roared as Mongolia celebrated its heroes. A powerful close to a thrilling Grand Slam weekend.

00:00It's the third and final day of the Ulaanbaatar Judo Grand Slam, and the heavyweights are ready to make their mark.
00:07At under 90kg, Riku Okada faced Umar Bozarov.
00:12Okada took the lead with a yuko score and managed to transition into a hold down,
00:18scoring Ippon and securing his first gold medal on the World Judo Tour in confident style.
00:25IJF Head Referee Director Mr. Armin Bagdazarov awarded the medals.
00:30In the under 78kg, European champion Patricia Sampaio faced off against former world champion Umeki Mami.
00:42Sampaio was looking good all day, and the final was no different.
00:46Within the first minute, she claimed top spot on the podium, wasting no time.
00:51After a dominant day, she has made her mark in Ulaanbaatar.
00:55Jenko Tour Bureau CEO Mrs. Naamun Batolga awarded the medals.
01:03Now I'm really, really happy.
01:08But I felt really tired, but I said at the beginning of the day, today I'm tired, so I need to do this quickly.

01:22Anton Savitsky faced Zombor Vege at minus 100kg.
01:27Savitsky earned his second Grand Slam gold medal after dominating the contest.
01:31He scored a Wazari and a yuko, and held off Vege for the victory.
01:35Mongolia Member of Parliament, Mr. Sogd Batar Damdin awarded the medals.
01:47At plus 78kg, Lea Fontaine faced Jinisuyur Ayman.
01:55In Golden Score, Fontaine had the edge and secured a decisive yuko,
02:00enough to add another gold medal to her growing collection.
02:06Former President of Mongolia, His Excellency Mr. Enkbayar Nambar awarded the medals.
02:15Gonshig Soren Batkoyak faced Artem Zolotukin at plus 100kg.
02:20A yuko on the board was enough for the home hero to claim his gold medal.
