00:00President Trump is a failed leader.
00:02He will go down in history as the worst president ever.
00:05Welcome to WatchMojo.
00:07And today, we're counting down our picks for the biggest anti-Donald Trump celebrities of all time.
00:12We'll see what the famous faces have said about the 45th president of the United States
00:16and the issues they have with him.
00:19We need the principled press to hold power to account.
00:25Number 20. Chelsea Handler.
00:27Not many people would ditch their talk show to become a Trump-hater full-time.
00:31But then again, not many people are like Handler.
00:34The last time I was here, I was sitting at this desk.
00:37The president of the United States was a hot, young, parasailing novelist named Barack Hussein Obama.
00:45And now we have a new president, whose name is Donald Putin Trump.
00:50In 2017, the comedian, actor, and host announced the end of her Netflix show Chelsea.
00:55Instead, sparked by Trump's presidency, she wanted to focus on political activism.
01:00His election clearly had a profound and heartbreaking effect on Handler,
01:04since she admitted to going to therapy in the aftermath to deal with an existential crisis.
01:09So it was a good chance to take a look at myself and find out what my issues are moving forward
01:14and why Trump represents such pandemonium to me.
01:17The years haven't softened her stance either.
01:19In 2024, Handler took shots at Trump's running mate J.D. Vance for his cat lady comments
01:25by calling him a, quote, wingnut elegy and putting her support behind Kamala Harris.
01:30So to put it in women-hating terms, you'll understand you're being hysterical.
01:35Number 19. Alan Richson.
01:37He's a white, straight, married, Christian male with children
01:41and a retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant as a father and typically takes action roles.
01:46I love watching you beat people up. I really do. I enjoy it.
01:51I don't know what it is.
01:52Yet Richson has no love for Trump and his supporters.
01:56In 2024, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter,
01:59the actor described Trump as a con man and a salter.
02:03He went further with his dismay that Christian churches
02:05seemed to put the two-time impeached president on a pedestal.
02:08You know what? Jesus became the scapegoat for us to end violence once and for all.
02:14And so he's commissioned us to no longer make scapegoats of anybody.
02:18Trump supporters weren't happy with the action star criticizing their MAGA hero,
02:22so they went online and called for a boycott of Reacher.
02:26Number 18. Mark Ruffalo.
02:28When it comes to actors getting involved with activism and political discourse,
02:33Ruffalo is one of the most prominent.
02:34I think the world should consider my president as public enemy number one at this point.
02:42After all, he's targeted many issues, including climate change, war, and civil rights.
02:47So, of course, Trump was always going to be next.
02:50In 2017, he famously took part in an impromptu protest against Trump's reign
02:55with other celebs such as Olivia Wilde and Michael Moore.
02:58Trump is not a legitimate president!
03:01Trump is not a legitimate president!
03:03Some of Ruffalo's best Trump-hating work has been on social media.
03:07In 2021, he led the celebration of Joe Biden's upcoming reign by stating on X, formerly Twitter,
03:14quote,
03:15The golden toilet presidency is over.
03:18In 2024, Ruffalo took aim at Trump and Project 2025,
03:23calling the initiative white Christian nationalism.
03:26Number 17. John Legend.
03:28The musician slammed Donald Trump Jr. in 2016 by flat-out calling his father a racist.
03:35I think he's selfish, he's racist, he's misogynist, he's a liar, probably the worst liar we've ever seen in public life.
03:44Legend wasn't done, as a feud was launched between him and their family.
03:48Because Trump definitely doesn't hold on to grudges, in 2019, he called Legend boring, and his wife Chrissy Teigen filthy-mouthed,
03:57after they didn't praise him during a town hall meeting, even though Teigen wasn't involved.
04:02It's like, it's kind of not even shocking to hear that the president is picking fights with people on Twitter.
04:08Like, it's just like, that's, something's wrong with that.
04:10We all just wait for our day to come.
04:12Yeah.
04:12And mine happened to be Sunday.
04:14Yeah.
04:14So, Legend mocked him some more.
04:17In 2024, when discussing the Black Lives Matter movement and Trump's reaction,
04:22Legend stated that due to his actions as president,
04:25he thinks the former reality star, quote,
04:28believes black people are inferior.
04:30He is a tried-and-true, like, dyed-in-the-wool racist.
04:35Number 16, Martin Sheen.
04:38Considering he portrayed a tyrannical presidential prospect in 1983's The Dead Zone,
04:44Sheen might have some feelings about Trump.
04:46I need your support.
04:47I need your expertise.
04:49I need your input.
04:51And most importantly, I need your money.
04:54The West Wing president, who has a long history of activism,
04:58has taken shots at Trump many times.
05:01In the run-up to the 2016 election, Sheen publicly lent his support to the Hillary Clinton campaign
05:07and appeared in videos asking people not to vote for the Republican candidate.
05:11Republican members of the Electoral College, this message is for you.
05:15Beyond this, Sheen has thrown several insults at Trump over the years during interviews.
05:21He's called him a tyrant, an empty-headed moron, a bum, and a self-centered promoter.
05:26Even his son, Charlie Sheen, has mocked Trump for the fake wedding gift he received from him.
05:32He says, uh, in their finest moment, this is cheap pewter and bad zirconias.
05:40Number 15, Barbara Streisand.
05:43Considering she was on Richard Nixon's 1971 political enemies list,
05:48Streisand isn't afraid to get dirty when it comes to campaigning against something she doesn't agree with.
05:53Uh, I don't know how we're gonna take, you know, four years of this.
05:58In 2018, the singer, actor, and producer released the song Don't Lie to Me,
06:03which criticized Trump's administration.
06:06Hard to believe the things you said.
06:11During an interview to promote the album release the track was on,
06:15Streisand referred to him as, quote,
06:16a man who is corrupt and indecent and is assaulting our institutions.
06:21Yikes.
06:22The EGOT winner has also blamed Trump for stressing her out so much that she gained weight,
06:27insulted him in her memoir, described him as corrupt,
06:31and stated she'd move to England if he wins in 2024.
06:35How do you feel about the specter of a second Trump administration?
06:38I will move.
06:39Number 14, Whoopi Goldberg.
06:42In 2018, during an interview with David Axelrod,
06:45Goldberg's hatred of Trump led her to refuse to say his name out loud.
06:49You never say his name.
06:50I don't.
06:51Why?
06:52Uh, I can't.
06:53On the whole, she stuck to this.
06:55But in 2024, the EGOT winner accidentally uttered the name on The View.
07:00Immediately, Goldberg sighed and pretended to spit on the floor as her co-hosts teased her.
07:05Goldberg has referenced Trump several times in 2024.
07:09You are perpetrating anti-humanist issues here.
07:14She pleaded with viewers not to fall for Kai Trump's attempt to humanize her grandfather
07:19at the Republican National Conference.
07:21After Trump put up a fake image of her on the Truth Social platform, claiming she was going
07:26to Canada if he won, Goldberg laid into him, labeling the former president a, quote, snowflake.
07:32But I know where I'm going to be because I got a contract, so I'm going to be here where
07:38I'm wanted.
07:39Number 13, John Lithgow.
07:41It can take some authors years to write a single novel.
07:44So imagine how angry you have to be at someone to write not one, but two books against them.
07:50He wanted a robe made of ermine and velvet.
07:53The Constitution, he wanted to shelve it.
07:57That's how much Lithgow despises Trump.
07:59In 2019, the third Rock from the Sun actor released the satirical book,
08:03The Age of Trump in Verse, which contained illustrations and poems ridiculing the Trump administration.
08:09Trumpty Dumpty wanted a wall to stir up a rabid political brawl.
08:14When promoting it, Lithgow mocked the then-president by stating he wouldn't understand the jokes.
08:21In 2020, the two-time Oscar nominee released the sequel, Trumpty Dumpty Wanted a Crown,
08:27versus For a Despotic Age.
08:29Trumpty Dumpty wanted a crown.
08:32Lithgow then called up his friends and got them to read out the poems to promote the work,
08:37which included Meryl Streep and Samuel L. Jackson.
08:40Despite how he made them all tremble and cower,
08:42they decided at last they would ride him to power.
08:46Number 12, Taylor Swift.
08:48If there's anything you don't want to do, it's upset Swifties.
08:52Unfortunately for him, that's exactly what Trump did in 2024,
08:56when he posted an AI image of Swift supporting his campaign.
09:00Important to note, Swift has not endorsed either candidate.
09:03That's on top of the creepy audio footage of him referring to the musician as beautiful several times.
09:09Swift has been a lot more measured in her hatred of Trump,
09:12but when she strikes, she strikes hard.
09:14In 2020, Swift slammed Trump for supporting white supremacy during his reign
09:19and then issuing violence against protesters for George Floyd's murder.
09:24After stoking the fire of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency,
09:28you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?
09:32She finished by stating he'd be voted out at the next election.
09:36Woof.
09:36In Swift's 2020 documentary, Miss Americana, she emotionally argued with a father in campaigning against Trump
09:43and regretted not doing so years before.
09:47I need to be on the right side of history, and if he doesn't win, then at least I try.
09:52Number 11, late night show hosts.
09:55Yes, I agree.
09:56This is truly an historic moment as Donald Trump becomes the first U.S. president convicted of a crime.
10:02Many talk show hosts have criticized Trump in monologues, including Jimmy Kimmel,
10:07when Trump was found guilty of 34 charges in 2024.
10:10We should automatically make those jurors the new Supreme Court.
10:14John Oliver had a whole episode dedicated to systematically taking down the then president.
10:19He later spoke about how Trump's second term would be far worse than his first.
10:23Donald Trump views the truth like this lemur views the Supreme Court vacancy.
10:28I don't care about that in any way.
10:31Please, I have a banana.
10:33Stephen Colbert created an advent calendar that counted down the days to Trump's original sentencing day in July 2024.
10:41Finally, Jon Stewart, after leaving The Daily Show, called Trump a man baby.
10:46Then when he was back, Stewart used the platform to insult him whenever he could.
10:51You want to give him absolute power?
10:53You want him to be the leader uber alas?
10:55You want him to have the right of kings?
10:58You do you.
10:59But stop framing it as patriotism.
11:03Number 10, George Clooney.
11:05There aren't many political arguments that the multi-award winning actor and filmmaker hasn't been involved with.
11:11Try to get behind things that I think I could have.
11:14At least I can help bring attention to it.
11:16And in 2016, Trump was Clooney's target during his election campaign.
11:20There's not going to be a President Donald Trump.
11:23That's not going to happen.
11:25In interviews, he described the prospective president as an opportunist, a xenophobic fascist, a Hollywood elitist, and, a lot less scathing, a knucklehead.
11:34He was just this knucklehead. I knew him before he was, you know, a president. He was just a guy who was chasing girls.
11:40After backing Hillary Clinton's run, Clooney put his support behind Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
11:45The actor teamed up with former President Barack Obama for a virtual fundraiser for Biden's campaign, where the duo heavily criticized Trump's reaction to issues such as Black Lives Matter, while making plenty of jokes.
11:58Number 9, Jim Carrey.
12:00In 2017, the actor and comedian showed his artistic side by creating political cartoons about the then-president, his family, his administration, and his supporters.
12:10This whole thing has brought back my eight-year-old self. It's been a gift from God. It's, like, literally, like, brought me back to eight years old, where I used to sit in my room. Trump is toast.
12:20Some highlights of his work include mocking Trump for suggesting consuming bleach to combat COVID-19, dressing him up as Ronald McDonald, and depicting him as a baby.
12:30Carrey's artwork even led to him hosting an exhibition of his pieces at the Macaroni Gallery in Los Angeles, California, in 2018.
12:37The actor also wrote essays heavily slamming Trump, calling him, quote, a bourgeois New York con artist.
12:43You gotta speak, man. This is not a time to clam up.
12:46In 2021, Carrey retired his political cartoons after Trump was no longer president.
12:51But this hasn't stopped Trump's supporters from coming up with a conspiracy that he's secretly portraying Biden with a mask.
12:58Right.
12:59Look, here's the deal.
13:04Nope, lost it. Come back to me.
13:06Number 8, Eminem.
13:092017 was a big year for Eminem in showcasing his Trump hatred.
13:12After mentioning the then-president during his track No Favors with Big Sean, the rapper was part of a cipher during the BET Hip-Hop Awards.
13:20That's an awfully hot coffee pot. Should I drop it on Donald Trump? Probably not.
13:26The lyrical genius laid into Trump during his freestyle rap, calling him various insults and criticizing his priorities.
13:33Eminem also took verbal shots at Trump's supporters, even if they were fans of his music.
13:38Eminem walked back some of the criticism towards Trump fans during his 2018 song, The Ringer, and sympathized with them.
13:50Interestingly, Eminem also mentioned how the Secret Service investigated him for his anti-Trump demonstrations.
13:56Did that mellow him out? Not really.
13:59In 2023, he spoke about Trump brainwashing his supporters.
14:02We love our military, and we love our country, but we hate Trump!
14:10Number 7, Kerry Washington.
14:13If there's any actor who knows about the mind of a devious manipulator, Washington would be the one, since she played Olivia Pope in Scandal.
14:21Mediocrity is not an option for me.
14:23In 2016, on the side of Clinton, the actor laid into Trump's family policies in interviews.
14:29During the 2017 GLSEN Respect Awards, Washington verbally took down the then-president during her acceptance, without even mentioning his name.
14:38The flames of terror and exclusion are being ignited by some of our most powerful leaders.
14:47In 2020, as well as taking part in the Democratic National Convention, Washington also guest-hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live.
14:53During one segment, she asked children about the then-president, who held nothing back, by describing him as, quote, alien.
15:00Yeah, what do you think of him?
15:02Alien.
15:04Washington even produced 2020's The Fight, which explored legal battles between Trump's administration and the American Civil Liberties Union.
15:13Number 6, Mark Hamill.
15:15In 2017, the Star Wars actor dusted off his old Joker voice to read Trump tweets, confusing many on whether the then-president or the clown prince of crime had said these baffling things.
15:26Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies, and those who have fought me and lost so badly, they just don't know what to do.
15:39Hamill has regularly given a verbal battering to Trump via social media.
15:46I don't know about you, but after four years of this administration, I'm exhausted.
15:52He agreed with Trump's statements that he should be jailed to restore the country's democracy,
15:56mocked the president stumbling over words in speeches,
15:59and shared Taylor Swift's criticism of him from several years ago.
16:02Hamill hasn't just used the internet to tackle Trump.
16:05He's also taken part in commercials for Biden's campaign.
16:09From one in 2020, the actor describes Trump as, quote,
16:12easily the worst president ever.
16:15We're doing a great job. Oh my gosh.
16:17You're living in some episode of the Twilight Zone that I don't want to see.
16:22Number 5, Stephen King.
16:24In 1983, The Dead Zone was released,
16:27which featured a disturbed, narcissistic presidential candidate destroying the world in the future.
16:32You cowardly bastard! You're not the voice of the people! I am the voice of the people!
16:36The people speak through me, not you!
16:38Well, the novel it was based on was written by King.
16:41Seeing life perhaps imitating art, he has been very vocal against Donald Trump.
16:46Have you ever blocked anybody?
16:48Yes, I blocked Donald Trump.
16:50As well as laying into him on social media,
16:53King added his name to an open letter by writers against Trump's candidacy in 2016.
16:58King has described The Apprentice Star, or Blabbermouth Don, as he coined,
17:03as a horrible president and person, a criminal, a dim bulb, and a sociopath.
17:08The legendary author has been vocal against Trump's abortion policies,
17:12his habit of stirring hate and division,
17:14and allegedly weaponizing his supporters against political rivals.
17:17Do you think that the Trump presidency is scarier than a Stephen King novel?
17:23Short answer to that is, yes, I do.
17:25Number 4. Meryl Streep
17:27You'd think the U.S. president would have better things to do
17:31than retort to criticisms from a celebrity,
17:34but apparently not, as we discovered in 2017.
17:37After mocking Trump at the previous year's Shakespeare in the Park public theater gala,
17:41Streep accepted an award at the 74th Golden Globe Awards.
17:45But there was one performance this year that stunned me.
17:49It sank its hooks in my heart.
17:52Not because it was good.
17:54It was, there was nothing good about it.
17:56During her speech, the award-winning actor laid into Trump.
17:59She tackled his campaign and his grim mocking of disabled journalist Serge F. Kowalewski.
18:05Disrespect invites disrespect.
18:08Violence incites violence.
18:10When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.
18:15On social media, Trump called Streep overrated, which is hilariously inaccurate,
18:20and called her a, quote, Hillary flunky.
18:23The actor has employed this immature insult several times over the years,
18:27as she condemned Trump publicly.
18:29I totally agreed with him.
18:30Yeah.
18:31Streep even used him for inspiration for her character's bonkers administration
18:35in 2021's Don't Look Up.
18:38At this very moment, I say we sit tight and assess.
18:42Number three.
18:43Arnold Schwarzenegger.
18:45Before Trump moved from the entertainment world to politics, there was Schwarzenegger.
18:49But certainly Mr. Schwarzenegger is, as of now, the projected winner.
18:54The action star became the governor of California from 2003 to 2011.
18:58Since becoming a citizen in 1983,
18:59Schwarzenegger stated he wouldn't vote for a Republican candidate with Trump in 2016.
19:05Trump didn't take it well, since he regularly criticized the actor
19:09who replaced him as the host of The Celebrity Apprentice.
19:11Hey Donald, I have a great idea.
19:14Why don't we switch jobs?
19:15You take over TV, because you're such an expert in ratings,
19:19and I take over your job.
19:21And then people can finally sleep comfortably again.
19:24In 2021, Schwarzenegger released a video that tore apart Trump and his role in the shocking Capitol riot.
19:30As well as calling him a failed leader,
19:33He sought a coup by misleading people with lies.
19:36The actor compared the 2021 incident to Adolf Hitler's Germany,
19:40and the infamous Night of Broken Glass.
19:42Over recent years, Schwarzenegger has slammed the Republican Party
19:45for not finding an intelligent candidate to run.
19:48And I think a lot of people in America today are being misled.
19:51Number two.
19:53Share.
19:53During the 2016 election, several celebs stated they would leave the states if Trump became president.
19:59But for Share, another country wasn't far enough.
20:03She wanted to switch planets.
20:04It means we want to make America straight and white.
20:08Shortly after he announced his campaign in 2015,
20:11the music icon published her scathing thoughts on social media,
20:14at one point saying his punishment was being Donald Trump.
20:18Over the years, Share has compared the Home Alone 2 star to notorious dictators,
20:23called him an idiot and stated she has never hated anyone as much as him.
20:28It's like, it's like there's a death in my family.
20:30In 2023, after mentioning she got an ulcer the last time he was elected,
20:35if Trump were to win again, Share reiterated she would leave the U.S.
20:39Perhaps this time she'll make it to Jupiter.
20:41There's nothing nice about him.
20:42I can't say one nice thing about him.

20:591. Robert De Niro
21:03Since he was elected as U.S. President in 2016,
21:06De Niro has taken every opportunity to verbally drag Trump.
21:10Yeah, I... he's so f***ing stupid.
21:14The then-president ignored it until the actor uttered a curse-word insult towards him
21:19at the 72nd Tony Awards in 2018,
21:22which garnered a really positive reaction from the audience.
21:25With his filmography pretty much making him an expert on the subject,
21:29De Niro has stated that Trump is a wannabe gangster and tough guy.
21:32Today we have a kind of a weird, twisted president who thinks he's a gangster.
21:40Who's not even a good gangster.
21:43He's described the former commander-in-chief as evil, having no ethics or morals, and a, quote,
21:48total monster.
21:50De Niro has also stated that he has no desire to portray Trump in a film since he has, quote,
21:55nothing redeemable.
21:56Considering he played Max Cady in 1991's Cape Fear, that's a brutal put-down.
22:01Counselor!
22:05Could you be there?
22:06Are there any other celebrity Donald Trump haters that we missed?
22:10Rosie O'Donnell, Tyler Perry, Kathy Griffin, or someone else?
22:14Let us know below.
22:16Donald Trump has been, uh, has been mad at you for a very long time.
22:21Over a decade.
22:22Over a decade.
22:23Yes.
