00:00So diving into the latest news, notes, and information as it pertains to sports betting, and we'll start off with one of the big stories of the day.
00:06In fact, we've got several, but the biggest one of the day is coming from New York, where Justin Fields, starting quarterback of the New York Jets, left practice early with an injury to his foot.
00:19There are several reports that say it is a toe issue, and other reporters in New York are saying that at practice he was simply stepped on.
00:28There is no fracture, a possible dislocation.
00:31We will see.
00:32We're not going to speculate, of course, on injuries, but this probably keeps him off the field, at least for the time being.
00:38Let's get the very latest from head coach Aaron Glenn on Fields' injury status.
00:43All right.
00:44So I'm going to go ahead and knock this out now.
00:47Obviously, Tyrod went down with a toe injury on his right, on the right side.
00:52Justin went down with toe on the right side of his foot.
00:55But, listen, I don't know the severity of the injury, but I do know it's a toe on his right side.
01:03And, listen, we have an outstanding backup in Tyrod, who's been in this league for around 14 years.
01:09So the leadership that he brings, listen, we're all good.
01:14We're all good.
01:15So I thought today's practice was really good, especially for the defense.
01:19The defense came out energized because they know that the offense kind of took it to them yesterday.
01:23All right.
01:24So the defense came out and did a really good job.
01:27And, again, we're going to our third day, going tomorrow, and that'll be good.
01:33You know what?
01:34I really have to look at the tape.
01:35I know it's a quick throw.
01:37I'm assuming someone stepped on his toe.
01:40It had to be because of the nature of the call that we had as far as offensive play call.
01:44So, again, I want to look at the tape and be sure.
01:47And we'll wait for an update later today.
01:51Meanwhile, could there be a massive update on your Sunday NFL Red Zone watching?
01:56Seems to be a possibility that the NFL Red Zone could be picked up by ESPN Plus or even their new direct-to-consumer app,
02:05and it would be a separate fee to pay for NFL Red Zone.
02:08It would be part of ESPN's package, but it no longer would be, of course, on NFL Network.
02:14Stay tuned.
02:14And we'll see if this ends up happening this season.
02:16Billions of dollars in sale money, by the way, potentially for the NFL Red Zone.
02:21All right.
02:21Now let's get to the National Football League in the very latest.
02:24Joe Burrow looking for a new contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.
02:27He and all the other Bengals who are sitting out currently say he's disappointed with the outcome thus far.
02:33No new contract for Burrow.
02:34We'll see if that happens in the future.
02:36Also, the starting quarterback for the New York Giants appears to be Russell Wilson going into the season.
02:41Brian Dayball says that as camp begins, he will take the first snaps.
02:46Cardinals first-rounder Walter Nolan III is sidelined with a calf injury.
02:51Jonathan Gannon says he'll miss some time, and it could even be into the regular season, which would be sad for them.
02:57And also, the Green Bay Packers say they received a record $432 million in revenue sharing this past year,
03:04considering the salary cap is nowhere near $300.
03:06That means that the Packers and everybody else in the NFL are probably doing very well.
03:10All right.
03:11Let's get to some Major League Baseball action.
03:12We've got Freddie Freeman with a walk-off single in the ninth inning.
03:15The Dodgers beat the Twins by a final of 4-3.
03:18Tyler Glass now, of course, back on the mound once again for the Dodgers after the game.
03:23Very happy with the outcome.
03:25Excellent.
03:25Tonight, just navigating through their lineup, you had an entire pitch mix working.
03:29Was this just kind of maybe one of the best you felt since coming off the I.O.?
03:32Yeah, I'd say everything was working, I think, not falling into too many predictable patterns
03:38and then kind of switching it up later in the game.
03:40But physically and stuff-wise, it felt great.
03:43Just attacking them, I mean, was this one of those games where I was kind of game-plan
03:47to go through, like, your entire pitch mix, or you had, like, the feel on your pitches
03:52that kind of just was allowing you to execute?
03:54Yeah, I think it was kind of just dependent on feel.
03:57Like, in the beginning, changed up a little bit towards the end.
04:00But, yeah, just I think it kind of, as it was going on, certain pitches felt better.
04:04Curveball started getting sharp towards the end, so I was kind of just expanding that a
04:08lot more.
04:09And Dalton did a great job.
04:10We got into a nice rhythm, so it was good.
04:14Marlins take another series.
04:16This time over the San Diego Padres.
04:18Sandy Alcantara, seven innings pitched, one earned run, three to two the final.
04:22Meanwhile, Vinny Pascantino hit two home runs.
04:25The Royals beat the Cubs eight to four.
04:27It was not the best start of the season for Chicago Cubs starter Colin Ray, who pitched
04:32five innings and gave up five earned runs.
04:36Here's Craig Council on that pitching performance.
04:39I mean, I thought Colin pitched well.
04:41I mean, you did, you know, the home run in the first is a legit, legit homer.
04:48That's, you know, we, the air, we gave him an extra run there.
04:51And then the other two homers are, you know, the Perez homer is not a home run.
04:56And the last pass Cantino homer is probably still in the ballpark and Pete probably catches
05:01it.
05:01So, you know, it's tough to, like, blame the pitcher.
05:05And that's, they did a good job of pulling the ball in the air.
05:09It was a day where you were awarded for putting the ball in the air.
05:11Um, and they did that.
05:14They did that part of the game certainly better than us.
05:16What made Virzo challenging?
05:19Yeah.
05:20I mean, his challenge is just, he's got a very, um, you know, expansive pitch mix and you never
05:25really feel like you can sit on anything.
05:27And, um, yeah, he pitched well, um, did a nice job.
05:34Meanwhile, the New York Mets sweep the Los Angeles Angels in that three game series.
05:39They played last night's final was six to three.
05:43So the Mets certainly back on the right track in the National League East, the game winning
05:46shot, so to speak, came off the bat of Pete Alonzo, who hit yet another home run.
05:51This was a three run shot that Alonzo says had the Mets really good.
05:56Yeah, obviously, uh, hitting, hitting being homer there, um, guys on base is obviously
06:01enjoyable and fun.
06:03And, um, yeah, I mean, I, I, I, I felt really good.
06:06Um, and then honestly, I'm more satisfied with the, with kind of like that inside out
06:11single, um, uh, my last at bat.
06:14So, I mean, really, if I'm staying inside the ball and, and staying in a big part of
06:20the field, if that's my miss, then I'm in a really good spot.
06:22So, um, I mean, the homer obviously is super great, but, um, personally, like, um, when
06:28I'm hitting the ball to the big part of the field, that's when I'm, I feel good.
06:31So today, today was great.
06:32And, uh, I'm going to enjoy the off day and get back to it on, on, uh, whatever day, whatever
06:38day, Friday, I guess.
06:39Yeah.
06:41Light slate of baseball, as Pete mentioned today.
06:44Meanwhile, the Yankees defense continues to fail them for errors.
06:48The Blue Jays win another game against New York eight to four, the final after the game,
06:53Aaron Boone certainly watched the game, saw the defense not play well, but says they are
06:58better than they've showed.
06:59Look at the defense for errors tonight.
07:02Just what happened with the defense?
07:04Yeah, just not good enough.
07:05Um, and, you know, look at, I think, I think we have a very good defensive club, but clearly
07:10in the seven games we've played up here, you know, not giving them extra outs, um, whether
07:17it's through air or, or not making a play that we need to make, you know, that that's cost
07:21us in these two series up here where we really hurt.
07:24So we, we've got to, you know, we've got to obviously tighten it up.
07:27Um, I'm confident we will, we'll continue to work at it.
07:30We have good defenders here.
07:31Um, but tonight was obviously a rough night for us.
07:34Why do you think we haven't seen it consistently with the defense over the last couple of weeks?
07:38I think it's here.
07:40And, and I think it's in this building.
07:41We haven't played well.
07:42Um, you know, the defense was good down in Atlanta.
07:46Um, you know, again, we've had a couple of players go through it a little bit, but overall,
07:52we, we should be moving forward to a good defensive club.
07:55We need to be, but you know, it's this series in the last series here where just too many
08:01outs given.
08:02Red Sox defeat the Phillies nine to eight, the final there.
08:06Good news for Carlos Nevaez.
08:07He had a two run home run that turns out to be the game winner.
08:10Tigers lose again to the Pittsburgh Pirates six to one, the final there and the Astros
08:15finish off the Diamondbacks and maybe finish off their season three game sweep as Houston
08:21beats Arizona final four to three.
