00:00One kilometer to go for the Australian and it's looking good.
00:04Yes, it's looking very good. 500 meters of that little flatter road
00:08and then he's going to turn sharply left up the last 500 meters. A couple of small little turns,
00:13switchbacks and we'll get it to the finish. And there goes the attack. And now the attack.
00:19Wengerguard starts but Pogaccia immediately is onto the wheel and responds and so does
00:26only. He comes back onto the wheel as well. Gritted teeth from the young Scott in third place on this
00:32wheel now. But Wengerguard has tried again. We expected maybe a little bit more of attacks
00:41but he's tried once and now he tries on the final climb. Remember they are two and a half minutes
00:47behind Ben O'Connor so they don't have 600 meters to go. O'Connor is almost at the finish line.
00:54Yes, looking very good there for Ben O'Connor. It's 500 meters. This is when he's going to be in the
01:00front and the most difficult part of the climb. There he is. Doesn't see the line quite yet.
01:05450 meters. Last big effort there for Ben O'Connor. What a ride across the mountains it's been for
01:13this rider from Australia. His first attack came 41.6 kilometers from the finish with Ina Rubio.
01:22Then he went solo just inside 16 kilometers from the finish line. And O'Connor has used his climbing
01:29prowess to the very best of his ability. I can almost see the corner there. He knows it's getting very close
01:38but there we go. 300 meters. Only 300 meters now of pain for the Australian. He's one of the best
01:46climbers in the world. The tour at the beginning wasn't kind to him with that first crash but since
01:52then he's fought his way back and O'Connor is going to give Australia something to jump up and down about.
01:59The line is almost in sight. Through the mist and the murk of a brutal day in the mountains. Ben O'Connor is now
02:07closing in on the finish line. The Jayko Alula rider is almost there. 200 meters and he can
02:17sit up and enjoy the moment. One kilometer to go for the group of Wengergaard, Pogaccia and Oskar Onlik.
02:26Pogaccia sitting on the wheel. There we go. There's a finish now. He's getting there about 50 meters I would say.
02:32Ben O'Connor can see the gantry, can see the finish line at the top of the
02:37of the fearsome Col de la Lors. It feels like an absolute eternity. The line cannot come quick enough.
02:46He hunches his shoulders. It has been a brilliant day across the mountains. O'Connor is going to turn the
02:54final corner and get set to take the spoils of victory on the Col de la Lors. 16 kilometers solo,
03:05a brilliant day for a brilliant rider. Jubilation for Jayko Alula. Brilliant Ben O'Connor wins his second stage
03:13in the Tour de France.
