00:01G'day!
00:02Matt and Chrissy here again.
00:03We're enjoying lunch out on the lawn.
00:05Chrissy's made a lovely tomato.
00:07No, tomato.
00:08There's another kind of tomato.
00:09It's mushroom.
00:10There's no tomatoes in here at all.
00:12An absolutely gorgeous mushroom soup, which I'm looking forward to getting into.
00:15But we were talking about these amazing house sits that we've done previously, and this
00:20one's right up there.
00:21I think this is probably second best.
00:23Mmm.
00:24Second best house sit I'm going to go with.
00:26Nice.
00:27Which one do you reckon was the best in my books then?
00:29I'm going to say Pumpenbill.
00:31Yeah, Pumpenbill.
00:32Beautiful property that we've got to look after.
00:34It's something about the big properties that's amazing.
00:36The lifestyle blocks.
00:37It is.
00:38It is the lifestyle blocks.
00:39This one's about three acres, and just down behind us on this side, and behind you.
00:44So where you're sitting right now, turn around and have a look behind you.
00:47There's a creek.
00:48Down the back of the block, there's a creek that sort of runs around the edge there.
00:52And it's really, really pretty.
00:54We just had a kookaburra fly through.
00:55We've got birds singing around us.
00:57And I think someone's playing piano or band practice over on the other side of the property
01:01here somewhere.
01:02Sounds really good.
01:03Absolutely beautiful.
01:04What have you really enjoyed about this sit so far, Chris?
01:06It's been really peaceful.
01:07Yeah.
01:08Yeah.
01:09It has.
01:10I had a little pigeon this morning come up and just knock at the window.
01:14He was there for about an hour, just trying to come in.
01:17He was trying to get my attention.
01:18And every time I went over the window, sort of scurry away and then sort of come back
01:22and lie there in the sunshine and then start tapping on the window again.
01:25It was really quite cute.
01:26And the other night, we had some possums running along the balustrade on the balcony.
01:30Yeah, that was cute.
01:31Was that owl a money box or was it just full of coins to weight it down?
01:34No, it was a money box.
01:35Right, so there's a plastic owl like one of the ones that you put up to scare birds away
01:40from, you know, crops or whatever it might be.
01:42And it was loaded with coins and the possums knocked it off and it just went crashing down
01:46to the ground level.
01:47Matt thought someone was breaking in.
01:49Yeah, it sounded like someone was throwing a bucket at a door.
01:52It was pretty loud.
01:54Yeah, we're just sitting here enjoying this beautiful day.
01:56It's all about gratitude and appreciating what we've got and inviting more of this glorious
02:01experience into our world.
02:03Very appreciative.
02:04And look, this is one of the things that a good house sits.
02:07When you've got them, you know you've got them.
02:09You just, you know a good one when you've got a good one.
02:11The little goldfish Diplo, he hasn't acted up at all.
02:14He's been really well behaved.
02:15Doesn't talk back.
02:17No.
02:18Super easy to look after.
02:19Doesn't cry for your attention.
02:21No.
02:22Doesn't interrupt during work meetings.
02:24And this is a great way for us to spend our lunch break.
02:26But one of the things that we do need to do as a part of looking after this property
02:30is wander the grounds and just pick up any sticks.
02:33Make sure that the veggie gardens and the orchards are weeded.
02:37There is also a need for us to pick up any of the fruit that's dropped.
02:41We're going to go around and have a look again today to see how that's going.
02:44Because they want fruit flies coming in and starting to take over the place.
02:47And outside of that it really is just rake the gutters that go down along the gravel driveway
02:52to make sure that the leaves are clear.
02:54Because if it rains they don't want the driveway getting washed away.
02:56Pretty simple.
02:57Oh and you know cleaning the filters on the water tanks too.
03:00Making sure that they're clear so that there's no build up of leaves blocking the flow of water
03:04and algae getting into them.
03:06So property maintenance more than pet sitting really.
03:08Diplo only needs about two minutes of attention a day.
03:10And this area is I think part of the fire management requirements.
03:15So we need to make sure that there's not too much in the way of wood that's combustible around the area.
03:22Yeah although we have had a bit of rain so it probably won't be an issue.
03:25If you haven't been out to the Glasshouse Mountains we're not too far away from that.
03:29And it is spectacular.
03:31If you are somewhere close make a trip out here because it's quite memorable I think.
03:36It is.
03:37I love it.
03:38And we may, we're going to see how we go with this.
03:40No promises.
03:41We are going to see 8Ball Aitken on Monday.
03:45We've got an intimate concert.
03:48There's I think probably 30 or 40 people that are going to be at the property.
03:51I hope that they're usually very very small gatherings.
03:548Ball's got some really good tracks worth checking out.
03:57We'll put a link to one of my favourite ones down the bottom there.
03:59Chrissy can choose her favourite and we'll put a link to that one in there too.
04:02We probably won't be able to publish it because it would be copyright.
04:05No, no, no.
04:06But what we can do is we can have a chat with 8Ball and see if we can do an interview.
04:10That'll be fun.
04:11So if we do find that he's happy to do that like we have with some of our other guests that we've had in the past.
04:16Then we'll share a bit of 8Ball's story.
04:18That'll be really interesting.
04:19That'll be totally different to anything we've done before.
04:21It will.
04:22He's not a cheesemaker or a winemaker so he's a music maker.
04:25Anyhow, my soup's getting cold.
04:27I'm going to let you go.
04:28We'll catch you on the next one.
04:29Take care guys.
04:30See ya.
