00:01Welcome to the Encore Stormsetter outage map.
00:04In this video, we're going to show you how to use the map to find more information about current power interruptions within the Encore service territory.
00:12First, let's learn how to find out how many total outages we're experiencing across our service territory.
00:19Navigate your browser to stormsetter.encore.com.
00:23On the far left column, you'll see three numbers – active outages, affected customers, and served customers.
00:31Active outages is the number of current active outage instances.
00:35This is not the number of customers affected by an outage.
00:38The number of affected customers is directly below the active outages
00:42and indicates the total number of customers impacted across the entire Encore service territory.
00:48Please note that a single customer may indicate a household or business, which could represent multiple people.
00:54The last number is our total meter points, as Encore serves nearly 3.8 million homes and businesses, which represents more than 10 million Texans.
01:03To see how many outages an area has, simply zoom in or out over the town or city until a single bubble appears.
01:11Click it, and the number of area outages will appear inside the bubble.
01:16The number of customers affected will appear on the right-hand side of the screen under Customers Affected, along with an estimated time of restoration.
01:24Please note that estimated times of restoration are a combination of computer-generated times and times input by our field personnel when they arrive on site.
01:33These times can be updated or changed based on outage type, crew positioning, current number of outages, current weather conditions, and other factors.
01:43To view outages by specific zip code or county, click the grey Summary button and make your selection.
01:50You can also select the three dots next to View by Location under the map legend to select how you view these outages on the map.
01:57The Search function on the far left can also be used to find the specific outages in a specific zip code or county.
02:05To make sure the outage information you're viewing is up-to-date, check the Last Updated note on the left column to see when the map was last refreshed.
02:14The weather section can be expanded to add or remove the radar layer along with options to loop the radar function.
02:21You can check the status of an outage by clicking the blue Check Outage Status button at the top of the page or click on the Visit Storm Center button to report an outage and find more information about where to download the MyEncore app, how to sign up for MyEncore alerts, and information on how to become a critical care customer.
